The Man Who Would Be King (1975)

Is it even Christmas if you don't watch this or Zulu?

Georgi Kinkladze.

Too funny.  Bunch of us cooking lunch tomorrow and child free for the first time ever so we're starting drinking at 10.00 and have Zulu and The Italian Job downloaded and ready for inevitable our post roast nap ?

Banshees of Inisherin.

Brilliant.

Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell as two erstwhile friends who live on a remote Irish island.

When the Gleeson character decides he no longer needs the friendship there are devastating implications.

Nothing happens quickly in keeping with island life but loneliness leads to fateful consequences.

Light humour a la Father Ted. It doesn’t sound much but it’s compelling viewing.

Currently available at cinema and on Disney Channel.

Glass Onion.

I admit I was very very tired watching it.

So big disclaimer.

But I didnt think it was a patch on the first. Similar set-up, bigger budget...but the story wasn't as tight, dialogue not as cleverly observed and the plot not as ingenious.  6.5/10

I couldn't get past the first 20 minutes. Never smiled, never mind laughed.

Agree. It was like the explanations at the end of 3-2-1 with Ted Rogers.

It was too clever for its own good without being remotely entertaining.

Daniel Craig’s accent is as phoney as the policeman in Allo Allo.

Not for me, sorry.

Loved this at the cinema a few weeks ago. Worryingly saw myself in both of the lead characters ?

Watched The Banshees of Inshereen today. Slow moving but thoughtful film. Oscar quality performance from Colin Farrell.

Chris Martin / 10

Chris Martin 2014 or Chris Martin 2022?

I thought it was great so not this year’s fat boy.
