Really exciting stuff. Assuming we get Clarke back i'd say we are Panzo and 2 wingers away from a really solid team. Panzo can also play left back, so i assume we'd look to get Buchanan out on loan and off load Malone.

                                 Marshall/Roos

Bogle/Wisdom   Clarke/Davies   Panzo/MTW   Lowe/Forsyth

                     Rooney/Beilik    Bird/Shinnie

And we'd have possibly Ebosele, Evans, Buchanan, Brown etc to rotate in for cup games if they don't leave.

Good news I hear on the Clarke front, a Brighton fan has told me, he will be signing on a season long loan, in 2 weeks time.

If true that's our centre back pairing sorted , need a winger, a forward and left back now.  And a goal keeper as well.

Yeah because we only have 4/5 LB options

Chuck Bielik in there and a new striker and it's looking very tasty.

Chances of Clarke rejoining on loan might be receding even further if Brighton accept the rumoured £40m bid from Chelsea for Dunk.

40 MILLION. I only remember this bloke as a walking red card. Walking being the operative word as he had the turning speed of a sinking tugboat.

Possibly, but I just couldn’t see us spending a couple million on a back-up CB, even if it was one for the future. Unless of course we again have more to spend than expected.

If we got Clarke back, I think we’d be pretty well stocked in the CB department with him, Dutch Mike, Bielik, Davies, Evans, Wisdom and Forsyth all playing there fairly recently.

We rotated LB quite a lot last season, seeing as it’s usually quite a consistent position for most teams who have one first choice LB.

Unless we're going 3 at the back?

Need a striker too.

You're one injury away from absolutely nothing up front.

A big CF on loan for the season would suit me fine.

Maybe. Has Cocu ever played that way though?

Its a possibility if we can’t get any wide targets, as it would suit our current squad better if Clarke & Panzo are added.

Didn't expect Clarke back if I'm being honest. It's a great coup for us - a player we already know can slot straight in from day one and almost be a guaranteed contender for POTY before a ball is kicked. I'm surprised Brighton didn't get better options.

Couldn't agree more.

I've said for a while now that Bogle would make a very good wing back.
