Stive Pesley
I've had a pint and I'm in no state to argue tonight, but just wanted to say how much I enjoy the debate on here. That's not just the backup I get from the likes of @GboroRam @ariotofmyown @McRamFan @Highgate et al but also those who I continually disagree with but tolerate my rambling @G STAR RAM @Norman @Uptherams et al - your constant challenging of what I think is what makes it worth bothering with And also thanks to @David for giving us the chance to play nice We're all Rams innit? Let's hope this messed up country sorts it's crisp-ridden fridge out soon x

I've just clarified it with him. Apparently it was a clever pun about bendy bananas. So clever, I never spotted it, but that's nothing new. Brammie Steve
If I could turn back the clock to 1975 I would still vote to be in a common Market which is all we voted on. In 2016 those (like me) who voted leave wanted out of the EU which was a totally different thing. Ruled from Brussels and Strasbourg and giving up our last vestiges of autonomy? No way! From the 1975 pamphlet, the referendum was never solely about joining a "common market" solely about trade. The aims of the Common Market are: To bring together the peoples of Europe. To raise living standards and improve working conditions. To promote growth and boost world trade. To help the poorest regions of Europe and the rest of the world. To help maintain peace and freedom http://www.harvard-digital.co.uk/euro/pamphlet.htm

But it was originally just about trade though, 'What began as a purely economic union has evolved into an organization spanning policy areas, from climate, environment and health to external relations and security, justice and migration.
