JMC reacted to Cam the Ram in WBA Away
I personally wouldn't say allowing the opposition to get off 20 shots from inside our box as having 'played really well, particularly in defence.' 99 times out of 100 Roos doesn't have the game of his life and we lose that comfortably. And as well as Roos we should probably thank the ref for only adding 5 minutes of injury time despite us manging to waste a good 20-25 minutes from goal kicks, throw ins and Roos with the ball in his hands.
A fantastic point from a game we were expecting none, and we certainly won't play many teams as physical or talented as West Brom this season, but today Roos' saves and West Brom's poor finishing earned us that point, not clever tactics or good defending.

JMC reacted to MuespachRam in v WBA (A) - Predictions
You can save this and just put it in the WBA ratings thread after the game…
Roos - 1 - Made a couple of decent saves, wasn’t at fault for the first goal but the other 2 were his fault, got to be a better option somewhere.
Byrne - 7 - Best player we had
Buchanan - 6 - Did well against there wingers under pressure all game
Jagielka - 4 - Looked every inch 39 years old-pulled all over the place by the forwards
Davies - 4 - See Jagielka
Shinnie - 5 - tried but no joy
Bird - 6 - Got stuck in and out only positive midfielder
Morrison - 6 - A few nice touches, not given a second on the ball though, can’t do It all himself
Lawrence - 3 - Another awful captains performance - hid throughout game
Sibley - 2 - Stupid sending off at 3 down, needs to grow up quickly
Baldock - 4 - zero service poor guy

JMC reacted to Red_ram in Jozwiak
My take was it tactical with the fact forest we’re starting to have some joy with pace down their left. Definitely Joz’s best form for the club at the mo. I think our current approach suits him much better than lumping it randomly (unsurprisingly). Hope it continues as he’s had a bit of a baptism of fire to english football, but comes across as a nice guy, with talent that just needs unlocking.

JMC reacted to Shake n Bake in Sky TV anti Derby
They did say Fozzy should have been sent off but they did also say we should have had a penalty for the Worrall handball.
I don't think we should take up this "the world is against us, no one likes us" attitude because it's making us sound very bitter. Sky's coverage was relatively neutral and we drew a game where statistically we were second best, despite looking the better team for the majority of the game.

JMC got a reaction from Jram in Will Hughes
I honestly thought he'd achieve more than a stint at Watford and Palace after those first few years here. More frustrating is that Derby are falling behind such clubs even more now. I suppose it shows just how good players have to be at the top end of the premier league

JMC reacted to DCFC1388 in Points deduction incoming?
If we havent breached P&S for any of the 3 year cycles from 2015 to 2020 then Derby wont accept any point deduction, why would they?!
If we do accept a point deduction it will surely be because we have breached P&S somewhere along the lines but only because we have had to change the accounts. So we would then appeal a point deduction if the EFL chose the max punishment they can issue, the EFL probably know that we would appeal it so it makes sense to try & agree the punishment to get it over & done with asap

Well I like both of them and both of their styles too. It’s a very difficult job indeed - to be able to hear a live commentary away from home is always a privilege for me, so I’m happy whoever it is.

Roos
Byrne Davies Stearman Buchanan
Shinnie
2 from Watson/Bird /Morrison/Knight/Sibley
Ebosele /jozwiak CKR/new/Stretton Lawrence / Sibley
Not the good old days of 2013 to 2015 but better than this rubbish! I just remember everything so simple with overlapping full backs, wide players playing wide (!), midfielders arriving in the box and attacking.

JMC reacted to DCFC Kicks in What would McClaren do with this team?
(rant warning)
We've got a bad squad but all our best players are attackers, so why are we setting up so defensively when it's obvious our defenders are incapable of keeping a clean sheet? Wouldn't attack be the best form of defence with this team? ...and we have Mac at the club who specialises in attacking football just sitting there (if he even still is). I don't care what anyone says, Jozwiak, Lawrence, Sibley etc are good players, Rooney makes players worse because he doesn't know what he's doing because he's not qualified to be a manager yet. Mac has a history of not only getting the best out of players, but also improving players.
The constant late goals we concede, inability to win after going down etc aren't coincidences, its poor game management and an inability to react when the opposition does. You can't blame the players when it seems to happen no matter which players are playing.
People on here are constantly blaming our attacking players for not picking up players when we concede goals, but why isn't anyone asking why are our attacking players being put in them situations?
As far as I'm aware there isn't any restrictions stopping Mel from sacking Rooney, he's just choosing not to save his money or for some reason he thinks he's doing a good job, or he thinks have Rooney in charge would attract more buyers, but are potential buyers really stupid enough to be more likely to buy a club just because it has someone famous in charge? I don't care that it's his own money, he didn't have to buy the club, if we go down because Mel didn't want to sack Rooney it's unforgivable.
If we do go down, can't we at least go down with our own identity? I'm honestly sick of every time Derby are in the news, all you see is pictures of Rooney and headlines about him, sometimes you barely see anything about the actual club, it's even worse than when Lampard was here. I know that's not his fault but it just adds to the misery.

JMC reacted to Addingham Ram in Time to walk away Wayne
But when we are in the position we are in, very small squad, lack of experienced players, lack of confidence, why is our inexperienced manager not keeping things simple.
Today we had Lawrence touching the ball more times taking the ball from the centre backs than in the attacking half of the field.
Graham Shinnie appeared to be playing at left back.
We had centre halfs taking goal kicks, passing the ball 5 yards to Roos, immediately putting the defence under pressure as Peterborough sussed it out.
We wasted free kicks trying to be clever when all we needed was a ball into the box where our big men were waiting.
Then Wayne brings off Morrison and brings on Joz to close the game out.
I'm struggling to see how any of it makes sense.
Yes, it's easy to say would anyone be calling for Wayne to go if we had held on for a win, but let's face it, a win would only have papered over the cracks which are showing no signs of disappearing.

JMC reacted to belperram9 in Ebosele
Excellent tonight. Raw pace and power, out and and out winger we haven’t seen in years. Doubt he’ll be at the club in a years time.
Drop that fraud Jozwiak on Saturday, Byrne at full back and Festy on the wing. Simples.

JMC got a reaction from jono in Trusting Sibley and setting up to attack or defend
For me the one player we have to make this all work is Biliek.. Think back to the recent years of Eustace and Thorne allowing our attackers to thrive. Until he comes back I'm not sure we can cope with 1 defensive midfielder? Shinnie? I would like to see Rooney try this though

JMC reacted to Carl Sagan in Trusting Sibley and setting up to attack or defend
Do we set up to score goals or to not concede goals? The Euros saw Gareth Southgate pick 8 or 9 defensive players every game and it worked for a while but couldn't get him over the line, with an incredible array of attacking talent on his bench. Rooney has far fewer options but a very similar mindset.
Asked in today's Radio Derby interview why Louie Sibley doesn't start Rooney effectively said he doesn't trust him defensively. Sibbo is to Rooney what Jack Grealish is to Southgate. Rooney said he didn't play Sibbo specifically because his number one priority was not to fall behind in the match.
Here's the interview https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p09pv3hb with the best version of the interview at 46:30.
Derby's problem is not scoring goals. Louie Sibley is the biggest goal threat our team has. Aston Villa built their team around Grealish until selling him for £100m. If Derby are going to survive (and maybe thrive) this season we need to build our team around Sibbo, not give him a cameo in which to try to make the difference. How best to do this?
I have long argued that the 4-2-3-1 does not work for us and we should be playing 4-3-3 (set up as 4-1-2-3). With the players available at the moment we should have Shinnie shielding the defence and then we can have Morrison and Sibley as the two more forward midfielders, which gives a forward line of Kazim-Richards central and Jozwiak and Thomas wide. So much more threatening than what we have at the moment.
With a team desperate for goals, having your 5 most dangerous attacking players in the line-up seems a no brainer. Rooney needs to learn to trust Sibley, and I am certain that trust would be rewarded.

I would not sign Wisdom as I don't think he's a CB and we have cover at RB with Festy and think Jagielka Carrol ,Davies , Morrison and a striker should be our 5 signings as priorities

Just remember to stay safe everyone today.
Maintain social distancing from any natives of Nottingham and sanitize religiously whilst you are there, wash properly on your return and consider inceneration of all articles of clothing that may have become contaminated.
More of a Nottingham thing than a covid thing at this point, but good disease control measures are still applicable.

Is there any future plans to move away from having betting advertising? ..... Due to increase in people getting in debt through betting and effect on metal health and increased suicides from betting debt. Understand means needs other forms of advertising which i'm sure isn't exactly free flowing at moment but be nice to acknowledge the issue/ have a plan to move away from it in future.
