  1. Stuff the Navigation. Get the bus into town. Straight down London Rd. There’ll be one about every 5 minutes and it’ll take less than 10 minutes to get to the City Centre. Drop in The Neptune for one and check out the mural. Then head up to the cathedral quarter for a few in the many decent pubs in that area.

  2. I certainly never thought Rooney was a football genius. I don’t think he had a trick in his locker or had the capacity to make an opponent look silly. Best, Gazza, Le Tissier, Hoddle were all blessed with great vision and ability. Rooney is not in that class. But what he’s always had is the determination and winning mentality. It’s almost like his life depends on it and I don’t think I’ve seen an English player care more, ever. It’s this that sets Rooney apart and makes him an all time great.

He has shown as a manger that he won’t accept lack of effort as he shipped out Marriott and Holmes in short order. What we’ve all seen from his team is total commitment. We’ve not seen that at Derby for years and that is down to Rooney’s uncompromising view of how football should be played.

We know staying up is a very difficult task but we also know it won’t be due to lack of effort

  3. Reading can’t keep losing like they are. Cardiff where right in the mire and have won 4 on the bounce to pull away.
The bookies have Peterborough surviving though I don’t see that.
Reading have not responded well to their points deduction and I am hoping that the defeatist attitude has set in there in the same way it did in 2008 for us.

But they are the team with the squad to go on an run of good results and put some real pressure on us.

I think we could be ahead of them by the end of the month but then the hunter becomes the hunted so we’ll see how we cope with that switch

If we can keep key players fit then we have a chance now.

  4. After watching Tom since he came here with his ability to go into hiding for several games at a time I honestly thought that when the call came for him to stand to, he’d be found still curled up in his sleeping bag.

But no! Emphatically no! Who knew we had a leader wearing number 10. Rooney did.

Lawrence has been a credit to himself the badge and the fans. Well done.

  5. Morris has to indemnify Derby against any losses incurred in the high court defending the claims. That is all that needs to happen.

We then put our exit plan in front of the EFL saying it’s the same as last time but we have addressed the parasite issue.

Boro and Wycombe have two choices. They either take the indemnified Derby to court or they don’t. It has no effect on us coming out of admin.

Of course talk is cheap and it’s up to Morris to indemnify us which he hasn’t done yet.

  6. It’s clear to me that neither the EFL Boro nor Wycombe have any idea of reality.

The recent statements bear this out.

The EFL have asked for MSD to be at the meeting. MSD are owed money by Morris not the club.

Boro want the stadium sale looked into which has already been looked into and found compliant, the EFL accepted the findings.

Wycombe wanted the points deduction applied last season even though the disciplinary procedure was not completed until weeks after the start of this season. Any delays in filing accounts had the EFL’s blessing.

It’s cloud cuckoo land stuff. But for some unfathomable reason they actually believe this garbage has merit.

I just simply don’t understand. I think I’m intelligent enough. I passed my 11+ and went to grammar school but this whole saga has me baffled.

This is going to enrage some folks... the exact same folk my thoughts below ARE NOT AIMED AT... but will affect them, nonetheless...

The best thing DCFC can do right now is make an official announcement that no Derby fans are to travel and attend the Boro game.  Full refunds.  All tickets returned to Boro.  Supporters clubs coaches cancelled.

Without that, there will be trouble.  The club WILL get a bad rep.  The club WILL get a fine for not controlling there fans.

As has been said, the timing of this Boro game couldn't be worse, and even a minority of our fans reacting in a negative manner will literally be "The last thing we need right now".

Apologies to the more respectable and trustworthy fans amongst us, but that's my thoughts!  ? ?

More likely it’ll be postponed due to police advice.

This fixture is a powder keg.

  8. So the EFL get off the fence in the only direction they can without being sued by Boro.

This absolutely stinks. The EFL get us to do their dirty work in making Middlesbrough leave them alone. So now we have no choice but to deal with the Smoggies either by the high court or arbitration allowing the EFL off the hook with Gibson.

    Cowardly from the EFL.

  9. Either we do stay up or we don’t. Strangely it’s what happens on the pitch is not as important and what happens off it. Which in itself is a sad commentary on the state of football in this country.

This team could lose every game til the end of the season and I’d still give them a standing ovation at the last game v Cardiff.

They have given us a rallying point and we’ve seen a man come to fore who absolutely gets it.

We may have come through the transfer window with most of our best players remaining but we have lost Jags and Shinnie which is telling.

It’s going to be so difficult to stay up but I just hope to god that we even have a team there to be relegated in May.

  10. They seemed to respond pretty well and we got the draw. It's called experience and there could be more nerve wracking games to come including the possibility of a last game of the season, winner takes all showdown so they need to know what PP is like when expectations are high.

We have a team with a never say die attitude and a motivated and enthusiastic fan base. It's a good thing. Our you players are benefiting. Plange had his best game yet and our midfield was ineffective because it was being bypassed. Tactically Bowyer got it right yesterday they got in our faces but we battled our way back into it.

I have no fears about putting too much expectation on them because WTF have we or out team got to lose? Do you think Wayne was soft soaping it in the dressing room? No he wasn't he told them they were pants at half time and that they'd better sort it out.

Indeed perhaps you’re right but I think it was implied.

I wonder, though,  who was responsible for the murder of F**est fan on top of the Trent End where nobody goes. That particular ditty told of gruesome affair with a knife and axe employed to bring about his demise.
