We don't need an enforcer. Those days are gone. You pick up bookings too quickly now. Bookings are tactical fouls these days. Opponents ran through midfield at times last year because our CBs were too slow to play a high line when the forwards pressed.

The deep midfielder these days needs to accept the ball off the CBs and dictate play.

We don't need an enforcer but we do need more pace/athleticism. Too pedestrian both on and off the ball at times, too easily by-passed and don't cover the ground well enough. That could be said about the entire team though.

When this link first came about I wasn't too impressed due to only 43 goals in 224 league games since first stepping up from L1 in 2016. Thinking about it some more, I think he would be a decent 2nd choice CF. In League 1, he has averaged a goal contribution every 169 minutes. Even with his record in the Championship being 1 contribution every 341 minutes (still good enough as 3rd choice), his record over the past 10 years is still 1 every 205 minutes.

I'd be very content with Washington as our 2nd choice CF. I'd back him to get 12-15 contributions in less than 2000 minutes of football, which is what I'd expect from a 2nd choice.

Any danger of some analysis which isn't pure numbers?

I don’t want to put a damper on things but I can see us starting the season with a better squad, but weaker first XI, than the one that ended the season.

Fortunately this season looks weak with the relegated teams in a mess and Barnsley potentially having their manager poached.

We started last season with Korey Smith at right back and Curtis Davies in the lineup. We also had Collins up front starting. Out of the rest of the team, only Haydon Roberts has left so far with a potential for Jason Knight

Fail to see how we aren’t already stronger.

So who are the next big up & coming headline bands? Seeing Download & Glastonbury lineups got me wondering. They can’t keep wheeling out 70’s/80’s icons out, time waits for no one. Can’t keep relying on David Grohl gatecrashing other performances either. Or is it Ed Sheeran, Beyoncé & Artic Monkeys for the next 20 years?

Believe this week is the first time in history that the UK charts have 3 British rap artists as the top 3 songs. Tastes have just changed at the moment. These bands exists, but they’re not mainstream.

Get him to sign a contract from a date but let him play in them games! Could do us a favour before he even joins us, value Could rocket or just be how he is

There’s no benefit to this. He would just as likely break his leg. If we are in a transfer window, which we are, the move would be immediate, or you’d wait before agreeing.

Interestingly, I think that's exactly what he isn't yet what we want him to be (minus the Poundshop bit).

He spends far too much time outside the box for him to be an effective goalscorer, given that when crosses are put in he's too often not in the right position to get on the end of it.

I'd prefer to ask him to stop bothering with anything outside the area, on the basis that he's not a great target man or that good at holding the ball up, and just make sure that when a cross comes in he's in the six yard box or in the right position to covert the chance. In essence, to goal hang.

I mean, yeah, or we could just sign 2 more strikers and have him be 3rd choice.

Not sure what it is about collins. He can’t hold the ball up, he scores very little, he doesn’t seem to contribute much as an attacking player…however for some reason I still like him

    It’s because he’s a bit of a b******. But that’s his only real attribute.
