Basically no chance any of those loans go to League 1 this season.
Pretty much all played at levels above already, or if not have shown they’re ready to and would have plenty of Championship interest at least.
James McAtee just played 37 times for a side that got automatic promotion to the PL, he’d probably be looking to play higher than the Championship this season, let alone League 1.
You get the likes of Dobbin in this league. Their first ever loan, and not the cream of the crop who tend to go Championship for their first.

There is zero chance you would be suggesting Conor Washington if it wasn’t already linked.

Wonder what was meant when Dawes said there was things happening with the Academy, Darren Wassall etc that he couldn’t talk about

If you’re in Vienna, you should take a trip to Bratislava. Another city and country to check off. Two closest capital cities in Europe, and a really nice old town on the Danube. Circa 45-60min and €20 on the train.
I wasn’t enamoured with Budapest, I have to say. Wasn’t what I was expecting at all for some reason.
Berlin is brilliant. So much to see and a lot of museums etc can be free too.

Can’t imagine anyone would be jumping at those names up there for Sheffield Wednesday if they were linked here.

So far the transfers have been functional rather than exciting.
Hoping for a big CH, a mobile midfield player, a clever wide player and a forward pairing- one good in the air, the other a goal scorer.
If Conor W. is a serious option and we’re not worried by age, I’d rather have Bradley Dack.
Hope Clowes has plunged some money into the cafeteria at Moor Farm.

Very good signing for this league.
Yeah, he will make a lovely ornament in the treatment room.

Fair point, but you would like to think we might be being linked at this point with someone a little more thrilling than Conor Washington. Can’t knock his signings so far. On paper they look sound L1 players who will give their everything. But wouldn’t it be nice to be more confident that we have someone in charge who might be able to pull an exciting rabbit or two out of the hat?
Years gone by I might agree but the club are so tight lipped right now. Nothing gets picked up until it’s literally happening. It’s hard to say. Say we did sign Washington though, I’d wait to see the rest of the window first.

Maybe, maybe not. How certain are you that he is going to come up with anyone decent/proven in the next week or two?
Whether it’ll be someone I’m thrilled with at the point of signing or a couple of month into the season are different questions.

He was disappointing overall, I agree, but he has got ability. I just don't think he had the fitness to maintain his better performances. Hadn't he come off an injury hit season at Preston the season before, plus like the rest he didn't have a full pre-season at Derby last season.
The word out there was struggled since he got covid fitness wise from the Preston fans.

Ooof. What an innings.

He did however score 11 goals playing in half the games or coming off the bench. Perhaps @Ghost of Clough can tell us his goals per minute played last season and extrapolate to a 40 odd game season. With a "goalden" season he could easily make it 20+ next season (he probably won't, but you never know in football).
Stats subjective. Could, again, argue that he would have to exert more effort playing more minutes and therefore not be as affective in longer playing time. I’m not saying that’s a given either, just showing the pitfalls of stats.

32 is not a problem in a modern game.
I’d argue it’s more of a problem than ever as pace/athleticism is more important than it used to be.
But regardless of that, everyone is different. You can’t just assume that because a player did something 5 years ago that they can now. And frankly, he doesn’t look remotely capable.

He scored 26 for Luton in this League. I wonder how many he would've scored if he would've taken up good positions in the box.
He was also 27 when he did it. He’s now 32, and he’s not got more mobile with age.
-
As long as he’s better than the last forward they gave us.

If God had intended us to leave them at home, She wouldn't have invented the word "Mobile"! 👀
We're not all glued to facebook throughout the game. A quick check on the starting line up, and the HT scores would do me.
... Plus, they can be a lifeline for some folk, when stuff happens that renders the footy insignificant.
I think there's 2 things I check, and that's scores and the accumulator. Doesn't help the scoreboard shows scores at half time in font so small it's impossible to read from the South Stand.

Would not be against Tyler Walker coming in. Never lived up to the potential but I think he could be quite useful.
Suggested him before as an option on a free. At 26 and having a not bad record at this level, it's a low-risk gamble that could work.

Me either but if you look down the Twitter thread there are some agreeing and suggesting it needed asking. To 'put it to bed', but people who believe Morris might still be involved - as if Clowes would agree to that! - won't believe a no anyway. Utterly pointless to play to the trolls like that.
We all read some absolute s**** on this forum, and for it never have been said on here... kinda shows you how few people have questioned it!

Tyler Walker was at Moor Farm yesterday - so I was told
out of work since leaving Coventry - wasn’t he with us a while back when his dad worked here?
No, we had his younger brother, Lewis.

Love this.
These things are common in branding and marketing for products and businesses. It’s really fascinating to see it for Derby, too.
It really does show Clowes is starting this club from the beginning again. It’s great.
