This point is a real concern. Our squad was too small last season and he seems to want it to be smaller.
20 players is nowhere near enough depth
This is a point he’s already made last season and isn’t new news. Also feel it’s made up on budget too, though, not wholly preference.

Point not proven - Brennan Johnson is not a winger . This is getting boring.
Didn't watch much Forest last year, did you? 😂

It's very dull but he's leaps ahead of Perez and the car is leaps ahead of everyone elses. I try to get excited, but..........
I'm not a massive F1 fan, admittedly, but do see most of it as the missus likes it. Have to say, this season is worse than paint drying.

Verstappen will win. As normal.

Given that it's already the 16th, the first day of training might be a bit of a shambles 😄 We can probably organise a 5-a-side if we get some of the ground staff involved 😉
As they won't be back til likely 26th at the earliest, could have made multiple signings by then.

Crawley falls on the stroke of lunch. Probably makes it Australia's session.

Well you'd definitely like to think we'll have a few through the door to get on that trip.

Cauley Woodrow on loan from Luton. 28. Didn't have the best of seasons last season, but solid scoring stats at his previous club and a good work rate. Someone to potentially lead the line?
He'd be a pretty good shout

179 club career goals in 540 appearances. 1 in 3 so 15 a season should be well within his capabilities. IMO, he'd have got more for us last season if he'd spent more time in the box and less time out wide. Going wide is fine if the intention is to take 2 defenders with you thereby leaving room inside for teammates to exploit. That doesn't seem to be why he goes wide. I'm not saying he should never go out wide but that he should do it less.
2 goals in 13 games for the Irish senior side as well...
Is he another of those players who get things right when it's instinctive rather then having time to think. His header at Burton was amazing, a worldy. At other times his first touch is poor and he rarely jumps for high balls. A first touch can be worked on and jumping for the ball, even if you know you aren't going to get it, puts the defender under pressure and will force mistakes... it aint rocket science.
If you ain't got a first touch at his age, you're a bit past working on it.
He should be a rotation/desperation option and nothing more.

Aren’t they already on minus points?

Really excited for the start of the Ashes today.
Not sure Bazball will work against the accuracy of Hazelwood and Boland.
Nor whether England’s old men can bowl Australia out (think Robinson will take more wickets).
But readers on here will know I know nothing 😎
I think we will get a series where we might win a couple easily because of the batting, then also lose a couple miserably because of the batting 😄

Think you are living in the sixties by keep banging on about wingers. Very few teams play with an old fashioned winger. Some teams play with 2 or 3 No10’s , press and counter press. Florists have stayed up by playing a system that sets traps for the opposition. How does Bird’s 1 goal a season fit into your system?
What are you talking about 😂
I said we don't need one man to score 25, then you've argued it by saying teams play with multiple number 10s... which is true, and they score goals so the striker doesn't have to. And Forest... their best striker scored 10, and their winger got 8. So again, point proven.
All I'm saying is if you can get a striker that scores 15 and makes those around him work and you end up with them getting 8-12 goals a piece then we are better off overall. It's not that crazy.

Pretty much all of these bar Luke Thomas (because we've had him and he's a knobber) have been mentioned in the transfer suggestions thread.

We Don’t need a 25 goal striker , Wow is Mason Mount coming home ?
Have a quick look up how many goals Plymouth’s strikers got last year as a prime example of why there’s more than one way to do it.

Or alongside him? McGoldrick is gone, Collins and him whilst good pals didn’t really work as a 2. Collins and Alfie May, that might work, one lump of a workhorse getting his 10-15 goals and one playing off the shoulder and making runs….
Collins has his limits, he did however score a few and some of his finishing was decent in moments. He’ll have a part to play this season I think, not as the main man but as part of the squad effort.
No ta, seen enough of him to not want us to go into a season relying on him as a starter. Ideally he would’ve been 4th choice, but with McGoldrick gone, it’ll likely be 3rd.

I don’t think “Flint on Friday “ is going to get Bed Wetting fellow fans all steamed up. A 25 goal striker would be a different story.🤞
Don’t need one man to score 25. Wingers and midfielders who get more than we’ve got would help for a start. And obviously anyone to start instead of Collins.

Tarique Fosu. Winger, 27, been on loan at Rotherham and been at Oxford. So will be known by everyone who matters. Released by Brentford. Might want Championship but worth a go.

Anyone else just have a good feeling we will announce someone tomorrow ? I’ve nothing to back up that feeling bar some hope.
6 minutes ago, Diego said:Just a hunch, but I feel we'll announce a signing tomorrow. Friday's always been a good day for a positive announcement.
I’ve had a similar thought but think I maybe just wishful thinking. Clearly there’s a few on here need a signing to have a dry night.

Pretty sure he doesn't want to play under Warne again, said he wasn't keen on his style of play.
Look up the thread on him from earlier this year. That’s been proven to be not what he said.

A player to run around not score, or create much, Knight is definitely better (obviously) but their output at this level isn't incomparable.
It's not like comparing Collins to McGoldrick.
They can't remotely do the same thing though. Stats aren't everything. Knight makes a much better contribution to the team than Smith ever could or would. I get what you're saying about him being replaceable in this league, and he is, but we haven't got that player in house.

Korey Smith can do what Knight does at this level.

It’s probably on the forum somewhere, but does anyone know when the players are due to report back?
We don't know. Educated guess would last week of June for some testing for those staying ahead of new contracts starting 1st July.
That said, NML has been there today with his kid looking at instagram.
