If you only care about the last 10 years of derby county’s history, that must be very depressing.
It is. Which is why you’re only as good as your last game and the next game is all that really matters. Look forward, not back.

Derby have been wearing a white shirt at home prior to anyone on this planets being alive. I'd say that makes it our colour. People are allowed different opinions. I look forward to seeing the stadium resplendent in red when they get bored with these colours.
Tend to agree. Couldn’t really care what happened 10 years ago, let alone long long before I was around.

Josh Key signing for Swansea.

Probably going to try and fob us off with Cosgrove in exchange if they do bid.
They're not going to do anything, it's a rumour Barry the Ram has made up.

Who would you want then? Genuine question as I know you mentioned before the lack of height in the back 3 when I said Harding, Nelson & Cashin would be a good defence, which is a fair point.
I’d really like Bradley here, not so fussed about Flint. I’d also still like Harding to give us a choice of Harding, Bradley and Cashin as starters, Nelson & Forsyth for the squad. I expect that’s wishful thinking though.
I don't know. I'm only judging the options presented here. Warne's pulled names out we haven't seen linked, and I'm hoping that's what happens here.

McGoldrick was still played as the lone forward, a role Sibley will not be able to play
Think that was more through necessity than want though. Collins made that decision.

Just me that doesn't want either? Yes? Ok then.

I sense we are more likely to play with 2 attacking midfielders of some description and then 1 proper striker.
-
No, we don’t.
Not that I think the 20 goal mark is imperative. But relying on Collins to play the bulk of the minutes as our striker wouldn’t fill me with confidence.
I don’t think that’s Warne’s plan either, thankfully.

Didn't they get beat like 10-0 every week whilst you was coaching them? 😂
They did when I started. 4 years later won the league and cup double before leaving.

God, no!
It’s about time we signed the next Chris Martin!
And for the record on him, as so many love him, he was cack on loan and most didn’t know why we signed him. And look how he turned out.

Thats not a bad shout u know.
it is something iv thought about vaguely, got offered the chance to years ago one of the local kids sides but wanted to play.
maybe thats something to revisit, my son isnt old enough yet to be playing but thats an obvious thing to look at when he is.
maybe i could look into coaching badges or something in the meantime
May I go left field and suggest a women’s team. One of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done.

I too have never been a fan of Ed Dawes, but he asked good questions (and got good answers).
He asked nothing anyone else wouldn’t have done, other than that absolute mental question about Mel being involved which has never ever been questioned.
Would have preferred Dom Dietrich just doing it.

That wicket’s come a bit too soon. Probably puts the nail in the coffin.

I thought he got the least stick of any Derby manager.
He has good faith on his side but somehow a gamble is needed.
Craig Bryson was a gamble as was George Williams but they worked. As you’ve used him as an example… what in the name of B4’s hatred of pink makes you think Paul Warne wouldn’t sign someone like Craig Bryson?

If Michelle Keegan whispered something in my ear that would get me excited.
Time will tell David whether Warne can excite me. I fear he is building a functional squad that simply suits his basic skill set. He should get us up, but I thought that last season, but l fear it is going to be hard on the eyes. You can take the boy out of Rovrum, but there is an awful lot of Rovrum still in the boy.
I sense you haven’t watched anywhere near enough Rotherham to make the assumptions you do.

Ironically, one of the biggest knocks against Harris from both Cardiff and Wales fans is that he can’t settle in a position because he lacks defined attributes to play either as a forward, attacking mid or winger.
Well, IF, and obviously it’s a big if, we are interested then you’d like to think Warne and the recruitment team have seen the attributes he does have and how they can be of use to what we want to do.

Maybe and this is a big maybe, clowes Warne and the recruitment team have come up with this never before heard of concept at Derby which is to get an under performing player on the cheap, improve them and make them a better player and then sell them on for a higher fee in a few years.
Sensational idea I know. Seems to go directly against our previous policies of drastically overpaying for a poor player in a purple patch of their career, hope and pray they maintain that purple patch, realise early on they wont as they are pretty poor, sell for a massive loss or loan out paying all their wages a year later, then rinse and repeat over and over again.
Strange times we live in. Almost as if we have some sort of plan now.
100% agree with this. I’ll also add that signing players with defined attributes to play a defined role within a team. No longer signing “good” players and just figuring it out (badly) once they get here. See Bradley Johnson being great for Norwich playing a traditional left midfield role and us paying £7m for him to never play that role again.

I guess goalkeeper’s can translate easier across different levels of football, but it is still pretty mental.
