archram reacted to Day in Rooney to Consider Quitting
If Rooney doesn’t resign, we have to sack him, to sack him will cost money.
Now the club have to look at this and say ok, do we believe in Rooney or not and take the financial hit.
You also then have to look at replacements, Evatt the name which gets thrown around, that will still cost to bring him in.
It’s ok coming up with dream managerial combos, but Wassall and McClaren might not even have any interest in the job.
McClaren was at Uni studying to move upstairs into a comfy office running a club.
Rooney is still here so that says they believe in him, which also means the players believe in him as it’s pretty obvious when they don’t.
So no, our best chance is actually just getting behind the bloke and give him that chance.
Draw a line under last season and see what happens.
Sitting here calling for his head, helping to continue this negative atmosphere which will spread like wildfire over the internet and follow into the ground when we can get back in, will be actively working against us.
Carry on though if that’s what you want, disagree strongly with what’s going on but it’s your voice to use.

To be fair, her recommendation was that she wanted someone considered under Rooney rules. After an extensive search process Mel Morris opted for Wayne rather than Colleen, but I understand for a short while Mickey was his first choice.

Agree wholly with the first part of your post.
However, it makes me want to stand up and be counted in support of my club.

Loving Saka. … hunger, drive, take on your man.
Greelish looking sharp and intelligent, Sterling on the ball and I just like McGuire .. kind of what CB’s are supposed to be but with some go faster stripes
How is this the same group of players and manager …the style, tempo and hunger is a world away from the turgid Scottish stuff ?

archram reacted to JuanFloEvraTheCocu'sNesta in Have we progressed at all under Rooney?
I think with Rooney you have to take in to consideration a couple of factors, firstly that it's his first managerial job and secondly that DCFC is currently such a clown car of a club that anyone would struggle with the job as it stands.
To be honest, I'm amazed he's stuck around because I wouldn't blame him in the slightest if he decided to get himself a lifeboat off the sinking ship we all support. If he walked now his reputation would remain in tact because everyone would rightly point to the fact everything is a complete mess.

archram reacted to Elwood P Dowd in Yankee Doodle Derby
I’m inclined to think that if serious buyers were in the process of buying Derby then they would be professional enough to keep their business activities quiet until everything had been concluded.
The problem with “No News” is that it is neither good or bad, it’s simply neutral, hence the comfort I take from the first sentence in this post?

archram reacted to roboto in Archie Brown - joined Lausanne on permanent deal
Good luck to him. I have a feeling he will possibly move back to a winger as his career progresses with the option that he can do a decent job as a wing back if needed.
I'm not sure why people are getting so angry about this. He obviously felt he needed to move to progress his career the way he wants it to go. Playing for a team in a top flight league in their country will have a better chance at playing in European competitions against higher quality opposition without having to get battered by cloggers and journey men in League 1 or 2. Lausanne finished 6th this season, and next season the Swiss League has 5 spots available in UEFA competitions through it's coefficient ranking. With a small improvement Archie could be playing UEFA cup football in a couple of seasons. Sounds better than trying to get into a team who have just strugggled at the wrong end of the Championship.
Also, not all our best talent is being hoovered up by bigger clubs. We've got plenty of youth team players coming through into the first team and only a small handful have moved that we wanted to stay (Delap, Gordon etc.) The world of youth football is a cruel place and if you choose the wrong path it can be the end of what could be a promising career.
I hope he does well and has a fine career.

archram reacted to Comrade 86 in Jozwiak
I've read some right nonsense about this lad on here and on Twatter and the like. IMO, he's a talented young lad and we're lucky to have him. Hopefully he can really kick on this season as it must have been a proper baptism of fire last year.
It's often the case that young players coming from abroad take a season to settle in and I think with Bielik's injury, being stuck away from home under lockdown, playing in a side so short of confidence, not to mention reading some of the garbage spewed about him in the dark recesses of social media, it really can't have been easy. If we actually play with a bit of tempo this season, I can see him doing really well. His work ethic is superb and that earns him some credit with me irrespective.

archram reacted to Van der MoodHoover in The UEFA European Championship 2020 Thread
They've just played a team who has just had a 4,000 mile round trip in 4 days.
That's very different to a team rocking up in your country and setting up a base for the duration of the tournament, acclimatising etc
I would say that confers a greater advantage than "just" being the home team.
As it happens, it's not equal. England have home advantage but Croatia is not such a distance and Scotland will come down from playing in Glasgow so the effect is marginal.

archram reacted to DCFC Kicks in Jozwiak
Did you even watch the game today? He was one of the best players on a pitch that had a lot of good players on it. He doesn't need good players around him, he just needs to play in a team that creates space for him to attack full-backs. Plus he's only 23 and Burnley are considering making an offer for him.

Callum Guy has swept the board in Carlisle United's end-of-season awards.
The midfielder has added four more prizes to the News & Star readers' player of the year trophy he picked up yesterday.
Guy has also been voted supporters' player of the season in the official vote run by the club.
London Branch supporters also voted Guy as United's top player of 2020/21, as did users of thecumbrians.net forum.
Guy, 24, also earned the accolade from his team-mates by being named players' player of the season at Brunton Park.

I just think that until there is any concrete news the club is right to take a bit of a low profile for a while.
Having said that I’m desperate for some good news on the DCFC front
