We're not doing too bad as long as we can get some important wins over the line, starting Saturday.

Fair enough Simon. If you’d be so good as to point me to the EFL rule which says which amortisation method must be used that would be great… Tw**.

I once read an article, by an accountant, in Accountancy Today magazine, he wrote that there are only 3 types of accountants, those that can count and those that can’t count.

Should we be getting some in on trial.
They will need to get up to speed quick so training and practice matches needed whoever they are.

    Draw or a Peterborough win.
We need Reading to stay on this dire run for as long as possible, they have enough good attacking players to click at some point.
Peterborough (and Barnsley) are out of their depth, whereas Reading are just under performing.

    This is my thought also.
He is a great player to bring on when Bielik is tired and needs a rest.
Thompson will eventually grow to become a Mr Dependable like Shinnie, he has that Shinnie/Bannan/Bryson type engine about him.

Some of the players decision making has been absolutely atrocious, prime example for thr last Boro goal when Allsop attempts to retrieve a backpass then plays it straight to one of his defenders whose immediately under pressure.
Would have been better just to let the ball go out for a corner or just hoof it into touch.
Same with Stearman getting sent off against Huddersfield after pissing about with it at the back. Everyone says we have a wafer thin squad but doesn't help making them play virtually an entire game with 10 players.
Can only assume the above are direct instructions on how to play from Rooney we need to cut it out pronto.

Still not convinced Rooney will be here next season. Depends on (a) what division we are in (b) who the owner is and if Rooney thinks he can work with them (c) he buys into the strategy/business plan of the new owners. Eg. If it’s slow build over 5-10y then  I think he’ll find a new challenge.
I think he will think he has committed as he agreed at the outset by end of this season. Also I think he is out of contract anyway and he will have to take a big pay cut for next season.

I think rooney be here next season and the job he has done with no funds I think do even better with some funds.

We're going to be under a business plan aren't we? No way we'll be signing anything like 12 for fees.
3 or 4 freebies maybe a couple of small fees and 2 or 3 loans I reckon.

I feel the ship has partly sailed on renewing. It is mainly Festy we are talking about and he would be unlikely now to commit before the summer (unless it’s a Bellingham type gesture) too see where we are. Surely he’s too good for league 1?
To me, we need to stay up to keep any of our best players..

1st March is the standard deadline for all clubs to submit confirmed figures for all seasons up to the season just gone (20/21 in this case), and provisional figures for the current season.
Given their 6 point penalty was for the 4Y to 2021 (resetting all of those excessive years of spend), and they'll currently be under an EFL business plan, I'll be surprised if they do fail.

Weren't worth a point today, Boro deserved their win. But by god those 4 goals weren't pretty to watch from our point of view. Very uncharacteristic of us, losing Jagielka has been a major blow as we're now conceding far more often. The kamikaze style play from the back again is getting a bit concerning, when we score so few it is not ideal to be presenting (typically) one glorious chance per game to the oppo courtesy of our refusal to punt it upfield.

    Go for it ?
I would say that current form is the best metric here and, as we saw at the end of last season, it can be incredibly hard to turn things around when things aren't going your way and confidence is low.
