I wouldn’t worry about it. I was listening to my hero Bobby Davison today and he said plenty of practice. He knew where the net was. Top goal scorer. I wish we had him now.
ooooo Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Bobby Davison.

I think the song was disrespectful and a bit nasty but im not outraged by it. Infact i couldn't care less really. Billy Sharp doesnt play for Derby so stuff him. The Rooney one i dont like. We on the whole seem to be sticking together so feck what other players, teams, fans, managers or the EFL think or say.

I've only just managed to uncover what was sung about Billy Sharp and I have to say it is disrespectful and not something I'd join in with but it's really not a big deal
Yeah, its not very nice. He's well within his rights to say he doesn't like us for it...well who would like to hear that said about themselves?
But it's not even in the top 10% of horrendous things I've heard at the football. Nowhere near. Horrible things like that were commonplace 10/15 years ago so to turn it into a generational thing where its "just these modern kids with their modern ways" is ludicrous.
I'd rather we weren't singing it but please spare us all the mock outrage

I can't remember people being so precious when it's the opposition fans singing about us burning our kids and other lyrical masterpieces.
I wasn't at Sheffield to hear what was sang, but I dare say quite a few moaning about it now weren't there either.
Youngsters get drunk and do stupid things and the world keeps on turning.

So we want to fill pride park, but only if the people meet the standards set by a certain few.
Get over yourself, Derby fans are no better than fans of other clubs up and down the country, no worse either.
We have idiots and it seems we have some perfect angels who think videoing fellow Rams to get them banned just as the club needs all the money it can get, is a good idea.
I wish I'd been born perfect.

Nookiebear1 reacted to Carl Sagan in Steve Gibson trying to liquidate Derby
Here we are, administrators in, massive points deduction, an estimated £50m or whatever in debt, unable to pay wages. And then we read in the Teesside Gazette that Steve Gibson is suing Derby County. https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/middlesbrough-Derby-rooney-mel-morris-21660410
His gripe is that Mel sold the stadium to another of Mel's companies (accepted as OK by the League because not every club owns their stadium and you can't force a club to) and that Derby loaned Matt Clarke when Gibson wanted him to go to Middlesbrough.
Of course claims such as these are manifestly absurd and would normally be laughed out of court. But the problem is it's inconceivable that the Derby Administrators can also afford to pay lawyers to fight the Middlesboro Chairman. Equally, it's inconceivable that Derby could afford any additional fines the courts might impose.
The sole purpose of this can only be to ensure the end of Derby County as a football club. Nothing less. The entire football world including honest Middlesbrough fans should be outraged by this behaviour and condemn it in the strongest possible terms. The club can't afford to fight this, so it's up to us fans to shame Gibson into stopping this despicable course of action.

Perhaps you're right and could be tied to a licensing regime for owners rather than FAPP test.
I personally think the whole model needs to change.
Each club having its league status, name and intellectual property owned by a fan Trust and then a licensed 'operator' who is granted exclusive rights to operate the club. As long as they operate the club within agreed parameters (ie they don't just pull the plug when things get tough) they can hold the operator role for as long as they like, or they can make investments and sell.
Punishments by efl for rule breaches could then be made on the operator, with ultimately loss of licence being the final punishment and therefore their investment.  The trust would then need to appoint a new operator.
I'm sure there's loads of holes in this idea, or that fundamentally this model makes investment or ownership less attractive but I think it's a good halfway house between fan ownership and wealthy benefactors...

It was an odd story. To fight it for 2 years nearly to then accept 12 points 9 now and 3 in the bank.
Even if we dont accept it and it goes to the commission i cant see it being any more. In fact itll probably be more like 6. Which i could cope with ? perhaps thats the case Derby are putting forward and if they offer 6 we will accept. Obviously all conjecture tho

So the appalling clown Murray and his Quest clodhoppers were out of order last night to simply push out their declarations about a 12-point penalty (reduced to 9), and even displaying a revised Championship table with The Rams on -2 points.
Premature, unconfirmed and possibly false information given; we should expect an apology (but won't get one, as the channel is just another passenger on the media circus surrounding the whole demeaning saga).

why do we need local journalists when the club opened a direct communication channel to the fans and their representatives, by way of a fan forum. All that needs to happen is for the chosen ones to report back to the fans...oh

It doesn't have to be corruption or incompetence, but referees are prone to unconscious bias as is any human in a given situation. There is extensive literature on the existence of home bias, as well as some on successful teams getting more favourable decisions.
Referees will read the news and have access to the internet. They will know about certain players who dive, or the clubs that are in favour or not and the issues involved. They do not officiate a football match in a vacuum, knowing nothing of the clubs or players in front of them.
Mel Morris is on record as saying the EFL 'dislike' him, he is seen as an 'enemy of the EFL state', and the EFL have 'an axe to grind against him personally'.
It is perfectly reasonable for individual clubs to hold rivalries and grudges against each other. However I would argue that the EFL, as the governing body of the league, should hold a neutral position concerning any club. I'm not sure many would say this is the position that seems to come across that the EFL holds with Derby, with revisiting of previously agreed submissions relating to FFP/P&S, reinterpretation of rules and seeming pursuit of the club with appeals etc. Referees will know about the Derby v EFL debate.
In 2016 former Premier League referee Mark Halsey claimed he was told by the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) to say he had not seen incidents in matches. This is the same body that appoints referees to EFL matches now. They denied they had told him that, so that's the end of the matter.
Coincidentally, I am reading Brian Clough's autobiography 'Walking on Water' at present. In it he tells of his time at Boro as a striker when he scored 40 or more goals in 4 consecutive seasons. He became increasingly frustrated at the lack of success of Boro, as no matter how many goals he scored the leaky defence made up for it and the team failed to gain promotion from the Second Division. He had his suspicions that the defence were deliberately not clearing the ball, and he could take no more so went to the manager to tell him of his concerns. He was told he had it wrong, and even that one of the players who seemed to be performing poorly said that Clough should see a psychiatrist for being so paranoid. He then went to one of the club directors again to be brushed off, and eventually could take no more and left Boro in 1961. The Boro defenders who Clough complained about in vain were later both imprisoned for their parts in the 1964 British football match fixing scandal.
I am in no way saying the EFL is corrupt in such a way, just that it is an interesting historical aside with links to our club in Brian Clough, and that concerns about any aspect of football governance should not be dismissed out of hand. I think that it's fair to hypothesise that referees may have unconscious bias in their decision making. It may not change the result of the match after the final whistle is blown but is not unreasonable to consider, and is all part of the great tapestry of discussion of the interpretation of matches and results in our situation.

For saying that we've just conceded our first goal in 3 games in the league, and only 4 goals in 5 games so far, there seems to be allot of posters complaining about our game management.
We were certainly 2nd best for large parts of the 2nd half, and our playing out from the back unsuccessfully at times invited pressure rather than relieved it , but Roos only had two testing saves to make and Forest created little else.
Again the missing factor was that 2nd goal. We passed up some good openings with bad decision making, but Samba was the busier keeper and Stretton desperately unlucky not to seal the win before they equalised.
A better team than Forest might have made us pay for losing our way a bit, but I came away from the game feeling disappointed rather than relieved. I still think we're making positive progress.

I’m surprised at the number of posts in the match thread that seem a bit down. Totally get it was only a draw against our local rivals, mediocre rivals at that. First half though we pretty much bossed it and were far more inventive and creative. Had we got the rub with a better ref, a penalty given or had Stretton just connected sweeter from the brilliance of Sibley, we would have comfortably won; because no way would that poor Forest team have scored twice.
We don’t seem comfortable one in front at the minute, always seems a ricket lurking. Yet under the circumstances of everything of the pitch, the glimpses we are seeing from the nucleus of this team is very encouraging. Rooney is slowly evolving this team into a decent one. He’s honest in his assessments and to give him more credit appreciates the backing the fans are giving right now.
As much as not winning is a bit deflating, there’s a fair few reasons for optimism in this team under Rooney; he’s slowly winning me back over.
