DesertRam reacted to sage in Rooney injures 3 more Derby players
Derby Manager Wayne Rooney's attempt to toughen up his team has backfired again, leaving 3 more players injured. Concerned about Derby's keepers struggling against physical players when coming out for crosses, he beat them with a baseball bat as they tried to catch a cross. David Marshall, Kelle Roos and triallist Ryan Allsop are all out for 2 to 3 months with multiple fractures, leaving Derby with the prospect of not fielding a keeper in the first game of season against Huddersfield.
Former United and England ace Rooney is now said to be keen to try a new 'rush back goalie' tactic against Real Betis tomorrow as the Rams continue to prepare for the coming season with 8 fit registered players.
Under fire Rams Boss Rooney has now banned the baseball bat from Moor Farm, though he insists this is not an admittance his coaching methods were disastrous. Rooney 35, commented that the baseball bat ban was purely a temporary measure until Colleen calms down.

And I have been positive about his potential as a manager! And so, I take it as a personal kick in the teeth.
I haven't expected him to do things perfectly as he learns his trade - but I did not expect him to undermine his efforts with non-footballing behaviour.
The best thing that he can do is get down to the training ground early - leave late - and do extra -  give himself a massive fine - and show everyone that although mistakes can happen - the commitment to the club (when paid millions) is paramount - and that mistakes can be atoned for through extra effort and commitment.
And then maybe he has a chance to will be able to earn back the ability to get players, and staff, and fans to go the extra mile.

Honestly feel the best thing he can do is resign. I think he is one of a dwindling number who feel he can make something of the awful situation we're in. Think we need an experienced head not someone learning their trade. Having said that would love to see Curtis involved in the new setup. We desperately need to restore some pride and credibility to the club and think Curtis would help to do that whilst learning the ropes. Got a feeling he'll make a top manager one day.

But we don’t know what happened. Accident, foolishness, machismo, malice? Got to assume the first until there’s evidence otherwise surely

As much as I'm not a fan of quite a few aspects of the job Rooney has done so far, stangely this doesn't bother me and I don't think it should be blown up into anything more than it is.
It's the sort of poo that happens but goes unreported more often than anyone would think.
Imagine if N Clough throwing cricket balls at players had made the headlines. We were none the wiser about that until last year, but nobody is outraged by it now.

Didn’t Clough leave Roy Keane in a heap with a right hand to the jaw?
Football training grounds are strange places and football injuries occur every day of the week at every club. It’s not outrageous to think of a 35 year old only recently retired, former world class footballer now manager to join in training….let alone in our position regarding numbers. You go to a training camp with X amount of players to suit the work you want to do. It only takes a few niggles and numbers get stretched and the plan is redundant and it’s wasted. We know several players picked up injuries so Rooney joining in is no surprise at all. Once you join in you can’t undo 30 years of instinct and not compete!!
PS a 50/50 doesn’t automatically mean a two footed lunge…it can simply mean it was a nothing challenge where both players were competing equally

My pet hate resurfaces. Sibbo (currently playing on the right) nicks the ball and wins a freekick 10 yards inside the opposition half. It's a decent attacking opportunity with 5 minutes to go. Instead of attacking, the freekick is passed backwards 30 yards and we end up losing the ball. It makes you want to bang your head against a wall.

Still believe that without all the****  we would have been 10/12th, so long as
we get a few in, get a better start, then we will be about there again, that's
without a points deduction of course!  and Bielik back by September.

Boris couldn't sack someone for being unfaithful.
Or indeed being bad at their job.
Misleading the public would be shaky ground, too.
In fact, it's hard to see how Boris could sack any minister ever, if he held them to his own standards.
