If he get over his injuries Fozzie might be in the upper echelons of championship CBs next season. The gift that keeps on giving …

At the risk of opening up another debate on XG..........
I actually like XG as a stat and over a season is a pretty good indicator of the chances created.
We had the lowest XG against in the division.
I think JW is a very decent keeper and I'd keep him - but the team in front of him shielded him more than any other team shielded their keeper.

Honestly guys, that last 20 mins was horrendous, my poor heart haha
One positive I can take from it is that we got the job done despite never really playing well in either playoff game (partly because barnsley arent great) and also that I think Oxford suits us better than Posh (and tbh as much as I'm desperate to win, if we do lose, I'd rather lose to Oxford than Darren Ferguson).

Fingers crossed we turn up and get it done. Our last 2 trips to Wembley are Bolton 4-0 Plymouth last season and Bolton 0-5 Stoke in the FA Cup semis about a decade ago so could literally be anything based on our history.

Got some Rams fan mates who were at your QPR Wembley trip that I sympathised with and was gutted for at the time so I hope more than anything we don't experience that kind of pain and we get a good day out, the boys give it their all and make us proud

I liked the retort to Chelsea fans when they sang "We pay your benefits" and South Stand retorted "We build your aeroplanes".
If that was an original, it was very funny!

I rated Jack Taylor as probably the best / fairest referee in the country, this game and his decision totally blew that theory out of the water, and most likely cost us the chance of ever lifting the cup in my lifetime. Still hurts, 48 years later..

Atwell v Forest. Addison’s header. Awful decision.
Agree about Martin at Burnley too. Should’ve had a penalty but was booked for diving. Sent off later for 2 bookings. Pure rage as the ref walked past Derby fans at half time. Bobby Madley had a shocker.

As @Van der MoodHoover has indicated above, McMahon felt that he was supreme in dishing it out.
He tried in on at the BBG once too often, when Mickey Lewis decided enough was enough. Timing his tackle fairly, McMahon was still on the floor as Mickey nonchalantly walked away. Strangely McMahon was anonymous for the remainder of the game…..!
Glyn Davies and Frank Upton could also look after themselves- ask the Wendies, January 1959 away.
Geraint Williams also sorted Mel Sterland out when he tried it on at Hillsborough, similar to McMahon.

I feel really sorry for them. Can't be an easy pill to swallow. Bless. The same as I'd feel sorry if Notts end up relegated on the last day, or Leeds lose in the play-offs to a team who finished 17 pts behind them and of course I'm honestly gutted Middlesbrough missed out on a top 6.

They're not in Administration and they've got hugely wealthy owners. They'll survive. When they took the piss out of us, we were on the brink of oblivion and their taunts must have made some of our more vulnerable fans even lousier, so I think we're allowed a bit of schadenfreude at their expense.

One of the concerns before the season was how we were going to replace McGoldrick's goals. It was the biggest cloud on the horizon, but I'm always happier when the goals come from all over the pitch, rather than just one source. Well done to everyone for stepping up. But it helps to have a prolific striker, so well done also to James Collins who showed why he has scored so many in his career, and proved himself a leader and figurehead.

    Why?

He is a good player. Injuries meant he never got a clear run at it but I never saw anything to suggest he wasn’t up to it. He had one shakey moment in one of the earlier matches but since then every sub appearance he was solid. It was only the excellent form of Sibley keeping him out by the end.

I certainly think the back 5 is the area we need to mess with least. The 6 in front need some real reinforcements.

It has - but only because it’s given an insight into how great the group of players are. Celebrating with the fans from the final whistle all the way through pubs in town. Genuinely nice blokes happy for themselves, the club and the city.

Compare with other stuff I saw this week with Leicester players celebrating going up by gathering in the safety of one of their mansions and having a few drinks around the kitchen island. Soulless and removed from the fans.

Really shows what Warne has built and hopefully he can keep the spirit even through squad changes over summer.
