Warne has a proven track record at this level, whatever everyone's takes are on Warneball, to a man and woman, not one fan would be complaining if he delivered the League 1 title.
We've had pretty much every style going with McClaren, Rowett, Cocu and without fail, fans are only ever happy when we're winning.
If I was to put a more positive spin on your description of Warneball for balance.
1. High pressing, winning the ball back quickly in the opposition half.
2. Wing backs getting down the line with the ball, Kane already spoke of his dribbling ability.
3. Putting balls in the box giving decent service to Collins where instinct takes over rather than time to think.
4. Winning the balls in the box.
5. Scoring bags of goals
6. Defend the lead by cutting out silly mistakes, a solid back line with natural wing backs that are willing to cover the ground turning it into a back 5 without the ball.

The one thing we lacked last season was squad depth.
If we want squad depth we need to accept the the lads coming in to act as a back up are not going to be massive, statement signings. Sometimes you need some decent pro's in the squad to fill a gap and cover where needed. Capable of doing the job but not so expensive that they eat up huge chunks of the budget.
I really do not see a probelm with this transfer. Anyone getting upset about it at this point needs to give their head a wobble. If we start the season with Collins and Washington as our only strikers then fine, I'll be a bit miffed. But Warne has already stated that we have multiple targets, so lets just chill out and trust that the club know what they are doing.

Can never understand why players get written off before they've even kicked a ball with us.

We've had signings before that have been exciting but ended up being massively underwhelming. (Butterfield, Johnson) off the top of my head.
Then equally we have had signings that have not been exciting and have gone on to be really good players for us. 
Like any signing we should just judge him when he's played for us.

Thought I'd share this, only an opinion piece/suggestion from FLW, Mendes-Gomes who was on loan from Luton at Fleetwood last year possibly available. Scored against us in a game that we've probably all tried to blank from our memories. Not sure where he'd fit if we were going with wingbacks next year but seems a good player

I'll judge his performances in a Derby shirt myself rather than rely on Posh fans, thanks. I've seen enough decent Derby players getting hammered by our own fans to not rely on other people's opinions.

I am fed up with these international managers sticking their nose into club affairs that do not concern them. 
If they feel the player should be playing at a higher level then keep it between the player and themselves,  it is not obviously affecting his performance levels or he would not select him.

I must be feeling more optimistic about our recruitment prospects than others I suppose. My reasons for feeling optimistic are partly due to Warne speaking positively about the proposed changes he wants to make to the squad, at no point did he sound dismissive or pessimistic about the financial ability to add to the squad. Also the local press has reported along the lines that a revised business plan has been agreed with the EFL which includes the possibility of spending sensible fees. 
It also came out at supporters group meetings earlier in the season that we were under the agreed levels of last season’s business plan and that the club was performing better than forecast financially. 
Using all of that information, paired with the facilities we offer, the likely prospect of a promotion push (success of which is to be determined), playing in front of a big crowd at a good stadium, and our apparent ability to offer competitive wages at this level I’ll remain optimistic about our recruitment prospects.
My prediction is we’ll miss out on some targets, will succeed with others  and come the start of the season will have a more balanced squad in terms of depth and age ready for a push towards promotion.
