Lol. Greatest achievement since 2006/7? You think coming second in League 1 playing turgid football is an achievement? Lets debate it.

    Nah that's okay, it's not appropriate. 👍

Securing promotion from any division with any brand of football is an achievement, let’s get cracking on the debate…..

  2. Just watched the game on the Bolton EFL Lounge - they were camped in Shrewsbury’s half - had one cleared off the line and hit the post in the 94th minute - my ipad nearly went flying across the room!!!  Fair play to Shrewsbury - complete back to the walls display - and rode their luck - but have done us a massive favour!! 🐏 💪

In the game I saw we scored 2 goals and created nothing else of note in 90 minutes.

Portsmouth on top of their 2 goals missed an open goal, had a 1v1 saved by Wildsmith's legs and the penalty incident at the end. Calling the above an even game and a fair draw is a bit of a stretch.

You missed the air shot from Curtis Nelson in the box after a lovely chest down by Collo?!

Quoting the pre match press conference yesterday looks like he could be involved in next Friday’s game.

JC has risen on Good Friday to meet the cross etc (I will admit this has been plagiarised from another poster’s comment on another thread)

JC Travelled with the squad and possibly be on bench today

Do you realise that 1.the players are not anywhere near the penalty area line, and the concept of 'perspective' 2.there is already a faint line on the turf close to where they are standing that looks nothing like yours and 3.incredibly a fair few have 'liked' the above var attempt?

You do understand the concept of humour don’t you…… 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

  6. Here you go Crewton…..your personalised VAR. You are correct, the line of the penalty box runs at 25 degrees across this photo…..so tracking the same straight line - you can see the defender on the far side is playing Dwight on - if only be his upper torso - Sonny is probably in line with the defender.

Anyway I’ve geeked myself out now - so going to lie down for a while! 🐏

I suspect another factor was Halloween - and given how ridiculously Americanised and over-hyped that day has become in recent times - I suspect there were a lot of our younger supporters missing and at Halloween parties or dragging their parents round the streets knocking on strangers doors asking for treats…..which still baffles me…..364 days a year don’t talk to strangers but for that one day a year it cool and you can accept their sweets!! 🤷🏼‍♂️

Ps. I’m not a fan of Halloween in case you were in any doubt! 🤣

PS - sorry for continuing this non-Barnsley v Derby related content! 🤦🏻‍♂️

A third didn't attend though? I know it was a Tuesday night but that sounds like a staggeringly high number and is almost too insane to believe.

Well 8-10 weeks is the info I've been given

    4 would be brilliant

Fair enough - I got told this morning  “the bad news out for 4 weeks - good news no surgery required” - either way its sill sh1t that he’s out.

Hopefully we can adapt and still keep the wins ticking over!!

He's out for the season - possibly back for Playoffs

We are in for a free agent striker who was set to sign for another LG1 club - not been told who yet

Not for the season…..but about 4 weeks.

Watched on rtv and really enjoyed what I thought was going to be a tough game , Exeter looked pretty in all but the final third ( were we happy to allow that ?) but it quickly became men against boys , great result from a solid performance and we are right in the mix for top two

Yes - we set up to allow them the ball and then put the press on to force mistakes and create counter attack opportunities - worked a treat - and even allowed NML to take shots at the local’s windows!! 😂

The only way I see this happeneing is if we do a straight swap with Fornah, with them having enough time in to get loan cover in for CF.

Unrelated, but I didn't realise how small their squad was. Outside of their first 11, they have Clarke-Harris who has played a bit part role this season, a winger who comes on when Mason-Clarke or Poku need a breather, and a backup kepper. They also have a CB who hasn't started since September (following 7 goals being conceded in 2 games). The rest of their squad has played a total of 622 minutes between them. If they don't suffer from fatigue in the 2nd half of the season, they'll surely pick up a couple of injuries with results dropping off.

Based on this……here’s hoping their first choice CB gets a niggly (not nasty) injury that plagues him and keeps him out for the rest of the season….. 🤞🏻

    "All about results".

    No, it isn't.

Playing game after game so badly that, even after a win today, it actually feels worse than a defeat.

Sorry. Warne out. Let's play football.

Who said it was “All about results” ??

Fair enough on you looking positives, but we are poor! If the results were based on the performances we have been putting out and losing instead of grinding out results he would have been gone by now

I don’t think we are poor. However, our performances and, in turn, the entertainment factor in the last few have been very poor. Add to that the fact we’ve missed opportunities to go top against lower in the table opposition and it makes it feel worse.

if we were not winning as many games and still playing that brand of football - I agree with you entirely that he would be gone.

but it’s primarily a results business for managers and the table shows (for now) he’s getting them.

It's an honest assessment and he too thinks we got a fortunate victory because we have more class than the opposition.

    That's great. He understands us.

Or does he? Or is he just saying what he thinks those booing at half time want to hear?

Does anything change as a result?

No - nothing changes as a result - the performance was cr@p, the game has gone and the result stays the same 2-1 to Derby - and be that lucky, poor or whatever it ….it’s still 3pts in the bag with only 2 defeats and 2 draws in the last 14 games. We remain 3 points away from top - and 7 points clear of 7th with 17 games to go. 👍🏻🐏

Do you think the performances need to improve Dava or are you happy with more of the same 🤔

I think the performances need to improve - which is why I said his assessment was spot on.

I also think we need Nyambe and Fozzy/Elder back asap - to give us the solid base on which the winning run was built. And my own view is we need the extra midfielder for a little more control earlier in the games - Tommo or Fornah at the moment - and then 2 from CBT, Nat and Tom B.

    That answer enough? 🤔

    Explain the original bolded bits

" We were booed off at half-time and that was understandable. I subconsciously booed myself." Laughing because some fans were irate at the booing, but Warne joined in.

"...You can't just keep the ball for ball's sake. We are going to have to give our roadrunners something out wide to chase." We kept the ball?

"To concede so early in the second half was disappointing, but two amazing bits of class got us back in it. But we definitely gave away a penalty. Louie Sibley definitely gave a penalty even though he was very good." What penno, nothing on RamsTV, but anyway why say that?

    1. But Warne didn't boo did he - he subconsciously booed - ie he didnt vocalise it - which tbh is what I also did. Because I was annoyed by the lack of aggression and effort to do the basics.

    2. Yes we kept moving the ball backwards then out wide, then backwards across the line - and the ball was not being played forward/bravely towards our wide pace threats.

    3. He contextualised it within the full interview - and was basically saying we got away with one today. From one side of the pitch it looked like we had got away with one - and having had the benefit of TV after we haven’t.

Keep going with your pedantic points tho - it keeps it interesting. 👍🏻

    WTF!?

"I don't think we were deserved of the win," he said. "Cheltenham played the pitch better than we did. It was definitely a game for winter football. They stretched us first half and they ran in behind. We didn't show any character on the ball. We played safe. We didn't have any aggression in our game. We were booed off at half-time and that was understandable. I subconsciously booed myself.

"It was not a good performance for us in the first half. Then at half-time we sad you're going to have to make mistakes. You can't just keep the ball for ball's sake. We are going to have to give our roadrunners something out wide to chase.

"To concede so early in the second half was disappointing, but two amazing bits of class got us back in it. But we definitely gave away a penalty. Louie Sibley definitely gave a penalty even though he was very good. Collo lost his runner at the death and gave their man a free header. We definitely got away with one and Cheltenham were value for a point. But we didn't play well and won and that's a good sign."

WTF!?  There is zero wrong with what he’s said. It’s an honest assessment of the performance. Some people have an agenda …..it was a shocking first half performance - he’s said as much - but we won - and keep pace with the top teams despite the performance.

...but are they the most reliable options because one of Warne's own signings (Fornah) has not yet shown enough signs to prove he should displace one of them, or has that addition  not proved successful because Warne doesn't understand how best to use him?

Similar to LB/LWB, is Elder a better option than Forsyth? Similar to CB, is Bradley a better option than Cashin? Is Washington a better option than Collins?

Why did we sign Fornah? What's his role? Why did we sign Ward and Wilson?  Ward isn't our best RB, he's not out best RW, arguable he's not even  our best RWB.

Has Warne brought in a player yet shows clearly better than whoever they were supposed to replace?

FWIW I think Fornah, Elder, Nelson, Wilson, Ward, Washington, Bradley are all good signings individually, I just don't see how they make us better when we're talking about the team as a whole or it's collective functionality.

Curtis Nelson IMO is better than Curtis Davies (was last season) so the simple answer to your question is ‘Yes’.
