Kinder got a reaction from Ram@Lincoln in Curtis Davies - signed 1-year deal
Just when I thought I couldn’t love him any more…
We were getting the train back from the Commonwealths last night and the train stopped at New St. My son was sitting facing the door, wearing a Derby training top.  This guy walked past George and patted him on the shoulder and said hi, then sat on the seats behind. I whispered who was that? and it was only Curtis bloody Davies.
So I popped my head round to ask if I could say hello (he’d signed a shirt for George recently and I wanted to say thanks) and he was unbelievably friendly. It’s 25 minutes back to Sutton and we chatted the whole way. I backed off and sat down initially as he was with his daughter, but he was leaning over the seats and really happy to talk.
I can’t remember everything we talked about (I was a bit giddy!) but he said Netflix should have done a documentary on us and listed all the dramas since he’s been at the club. One thing I didn’t know it had forgotten is 8 or 9 people got food poisoning in America on the pre-season when Cocu joined. Apparently the food was inedible and they were ordering McDonalds on Uber Eats.
He seemed put out that the existing players’ deals were last to be sorted out. His words were that the club sorted out the new signings and there was this much left over for us. Didn’t seem salty though and said other clubs wanted to talk to him but he always wanted to stay, so made excuses to avoid speaking to them. He would like a final year at Orient though.
Interestingly he hopes DC will appoint football people for football roles, rather than finance people. I asked if he meant Steven Pearce and he did, doesn’t seem happy that he’s still there.
There was loads more, I might post again if I remember anything interesting. But I was blown away how friendly he was, he’s a lovely man and I’m pretty sure we’re now best friends. I’m definitely going to invite him to my birthday party!

I’d be devastated if any fans had to go through what we have, or even worse if it ended in liquidation. Birmingham have got some disgraceful fans but so have we, so has every club. Don’t let a brainless vocal minority taint an entire fan base.
Living in Brum I know loads of decent Bluenoses including all my wife’s family. No one deserves to go though the anguish of the last 9 months, I wouldn’t even joke about it because we very nearly went under.

In performances you're right, But the lad is 19/20 years old, He maybe level headed and fit, But with young age comes burn out, He's going to make mistakes and it's how he comes back from those mistakes will define who he is, It won't hurt to rest him of after X amount of games, Chester/Stearman come in then it's up to them to keep him out...competition is a great motivator ?

When I had a chat with Curtis a couple of weeks ago, he said that Chester was going to start the Oxford game with himself until Chester picked up his injury. So Rosenior had Davies and Chester as his first choice centre halves, or at least did for the Oxford game. He’s got a nice headache now when Chester is available, there’s no way he can leave Cash out. We’re very fortunate to have 4 very good centre halves.

^ Post of the season so far. It's so good, I could have written it. I entirely agree especially with "its time to get very very excited about the potential of this squad. Once it clicks we will be on fire and have the potential not only to be promoted this season but be competitive in the championship next season."
I thought that after the Charlton game. Once we get some oil into the bowels of the machine it will fire like my 2L air-cooled VW engine in the back of my camper van and we will metaphorically pull uphill in 4th gear without a millisecond's hesitation. We just need to be patient, sit back and await the feast. I'll know it's coming when I see Collins thump one in from 18 yards and rip! the net from it's rigging. I thnik it may happen on Saturday v Barnsley although the heat may subdue football that day...but it's coming.

So, in summary, 3 games in.
    Won 1 - just - hard fought.
Lost 1 - one of those games where we mostly panned them then got sucker-punched.
Won another, cup game. Another hard fought, but class prevailed.
For saying we barely had a club, let alone a team a month ago, I'll take that thank you very much.
Loving football for football's sake, not money's sake.
I'm loving our club's big reset. It's a bit Roy of the Rovers stuff. Jumpers for goalposts anyone? ?

Really enjoyed Martin Fisher and Jamie Ward on RD commentary - both very intelligent and entertaining football analysts / commentators. Jamie Ward clearly keeps tabs on Derby and is up with all the fans opinions & talking points. Great analysis of Louie Sibley & advocating Sibbo to start  V Barnsley.

This is only a guess but I think if we really get behind Collins, that could give him the confidence to go and do good things for the club.

Get in his back and it’s only going one way.

How’s about “there’s only one James Collins” before the game kicks off Saturday.

I remember my uncle giving me the money to get 2 tickets because he was at work and I was off school with the summer holidays. I got up at 4a.m. to walk from Chaddesden to the Baseball ground to purchase the tickets. Got stopped on Nottingham Road by a passing police car, the officer asking what I was doing all alone so early in the morning. After explaining, he said jump in the car and gave me a lift to the ground. Got there to find some fans had camped out at the ground waiting for the ticket office to open.

He probably won't remember me, but i knew Rúnar way back when we both spent most days at the Reykjavík downtown bus station, i a young good for nothing, Rúnar a downtown bum of some local fame.  Wherever he went he carried his multi party worn guitar, a bottle of something in the other hand and a baggy of something in his jean pocket.
Found him once banging his head against the concrete wall of the station, but he scolded me for shoving my leather jacket between his head and the wall, complaining that it would take too long to kill himself like that.
Just over a decade later Rúnar released an instrumental album of the highest quality, as he had recently stopped abusing his body.  He's an old timer now with a long list of albums.  He has an excellent radio program that i listen to, where he invites musicians to talk shop.
    Good on you Rúnar

Just back from Rebellion 2022 - rocking affair. They had an extra stage this year on the front and loaded it with, well let's just say more accessible bands. Hardcore punk is a riot but four days of it gets a bit much. Some great acts on the new stage - Squeeze, Billy Bragg, Hollie Cook, Skids, Gary Numan, The Stranglers - to just give a bit more to go for than good old fashioned "1-2-3-4".
I also did some housekeeping while there

Was lucky to have some crazy support by the club in these past couple of weeks across the website and RamsTV, and it will be available in the Megastore early next week as well if it's of interest. But yeah - if you grab a copy, I hope you enjoy it! I loved working on this one, probably more than Pride, so hopefully the range of interviewees and behind the scenes bits do the Jim Smith years justice.

We were on 1 point at this stage last season.  We current have 3x that many.
Last season looked like being a long motorway trip... tedious, tiring, and the destination never in doubt... as it turned out, we took an interesting diversion along a long and winding country road, with lots of lovely scenery.  Admittedly, the destination never changed, but it took us longer to get there, and it was far less tedious.
This season, we have just pulled the car off the drive, and have absolutely no idea where we are heading.  In fact, we aren't even sat in the car ready to go yet, as we've just got out again to shut the drive gates!
There are no parallels as yet.  We even have a different driver, and a different car.  As you rightly point out, even most of the passengers have changed.  It might even be a really fun trip this time.
It is certainly too early to compare the two journeys.  Come back when we are half way there, and have to pull in for a slash.
We might... only might, mind... then have an idea whether we are taking the same route, or even heading for the same destination.
