Now there's a novel idea. Am sure I read something about that a few weeks ago, must be imagining things.....

This is exactly what the issue is.
One injury and we're in serious trouble.
We have to get things sorted behind the scenes and get players in.

Just hoping a takeover happens so we can tie some of this youth down to long term deals. Worries me they will get picked off for hardly any money because we can only offer one year deals under embargo.

Well that was much more exciting than I expected lol.
Feels to me like a big moment for the young players, a great learning and development experience and probably a big bonding one for the whole squad. Hopefully gives them confidence knowing they can fight through and compete.

Agree about Ebosele but you're wrong about Jozwiak. He stepped up, was everywhere and linked defence with attack really well.

Why does everyone hate him ? thought he was class tonight. Made some lovely passes and nice dribbles in tight areas. He created the space for our first goal aswell. Give the lad some slack

Hutchinson also looks an interesting player. Big tall lad, good with his feet, probably the kind of player that Brentford would turn into a proper asset and sell for £5-6m, but he leave us on a free in a season or two. ??

A very exciting player to watch. His made a few stray passes at the last moment, but he is still young. The pace and power is phenomenal, hopefully can only improve.

I never understand the manager isnt shouting so doesn't care or doesn't know what he us doing.
People are mistaking quietness for incompetence & loudness for efficiency.
The quiet manager might be the deep thinker, self-aware & rational decision-makers.
Each coach/ manager is different & should be judged by their impact, not their volume

Some Derby fans love a scapegoat dont they , dont worry Kamil you are in good company at the moment , Roos , Fozzy , Max  Bird , Lawrence , Kaz before he even kicked a ball have all suffered the same negativity from some fans , for what its worth i think a settled team , settled formation and Kamil will come good

I think he might be a little optimistic if he thinks fans aren't going to turn on him. Some will feel offended they aren't privy to this information and being told to keep the faith after everything that's happened isn't exactly reassuring to most. If we start losing games people will get angry and even if it's just a small vocal minority, they will make themselves heard. I think some fans will see this whole meeting as a fiasco again and I'd be surprised if we see the harmony Mel is seemingly hoping for.
Even more drama and interesting times ahead most probably ?

Maybe not that many weren't given a chance because they weren't good enough? Lowe in his handful of appearances here never did anything but have bad games and make basic errors in positioning, tackling and judgement. Mel's strategy has been to increase academy production, that's a high risk strategy and as last season showed it almost cost us our place in this division. This season it looks more than likely it will.

If Mel has got frustrations that the academy wasn't used more previously then he can only blame himself. He's the one who sanctioned big transfers, big loan fees and big wages for players who then didn't play because he decided to fire managers left and right.

Fade to Black (and white) - with appologies to Metallica
Prem, it seems, will fade away
    Drifting further, every day
    Getting lost with EFL
    Nothing matters, no one else
I have lost the will to live
    Simply nothing more to give
There is nothing more for me
Need  Alonso to set me free
Things not what they used to be
    Missing one Butterfield
Deathly loss, this can't be real
I cannot stand this hell I feel
    Wayne Rooney is filling me
    To the point of agony
    Growing darkness, taking down
I was me, but now he's gone
    No one but Steve
    Can save Derby
    But it's too late
    Now I can't think
Think why I should even try
    Yesterday seems as though
    It never existed
    Death greets me warm
Now I will just say goodbye
    Bye...

    No I agree.
I mean tbf last season going 1-0 down meant we had to score 2 which was highly unlikely.
I just mean that the fans are going to support the team but if we get off to a bad start and I just think things could turn. I hope I'm wrong and people wait till after.

I think he is as good a choice as Marshall was. I preferred the way Marshall seemed to command his defence, they took confidence from it. But Roos has started to look confident too. He was always a decent shot-stopper and decent with his feet. Lets see if he moves on up this season.

My first “in the flesh” sighting last night of Derby County since we beat Blackburn 3-0 all those months ago. My thoughts:
    1. Jagielka is class. In great shape. Plays with a smile on his face.
    2. Roos has improved hugely. Also bulked up. Made 2 great saves and distributed well.
    3. Baldock is very average. A poor man’s Marriott.
    4. Lawrence: also bulked up. Anonymous last night and gave the ball away twice. Has the added responsibility of captaincy actually overburdened him?
    5. Carroll looked useful and worth keeping. Morrison has great vision and passing but drifts out of the game especially on the left. Aluko looks ok but stifles Byrne a tad.
    6. Derby looked so much better 2nd half when Bird, Watson, CKR & Jozwiak entered the field. Bird and Watson have vision to unpick defences which we lacked totally last season. CKR has obvious cutting edge but needs somebody alongside.
    7. Williams - wow! Where has he come from? Looks like he’s got potential to blossom.

The trialists give us options and added depth but, Jagielka apart, they’re a motley crew of cast offs who perhaps might not live up to some of their hyperbole. I think Bird will really shine this year if played in the right way. Watson also could become first pick.

But, we will struggle for goals again, unless Stretton gets a chance and suddenly catches fire.

Overall team potential on last night’s showing: mid-table, having to work very hard to eke out 1-0s and 1-1s. We need more flare so lots of pressure on Lawrence & Jozwiak to produce more.

The club did, twice, put on their official site that a takeover was close to being completed. I don't think you can blame Percy for getting it wrong when the club literally let players go unpaid because they thought a takeover was close to completion.

we just don't know where they are, they could have been submitted for all we know?  Seems odd that the was a general sense that the club expected that restated accounts would be an outcome and had them to hand.  I can't think of a reason why they were not presented immediately they knew of the demand so I am assuming they were.

How we know it’s not the free agents wanting more than the efl salary cap or more than a year which is up to them. Derby know the rules of an embargo and that’s why they likely asked for more leeway which the efl said no. Instead why doesn’t Mel and Pearce just get the accounts in and pay hmrc. If we fail ffp at least we will have more time to prepare and will be out of an embargo. At this rate they will getting the books in by the 18th and by the time they are looked at we will be right at the end of the window and scraping for signings
