Appears I am the latest to rattle Mr P's cage over on OTIB.
It really is a shame that he doesn't sign up here so his views can be challenged.
Anyway, we I know you will be looking in again today Mr P, so for your benefit, yes I do feel after 23 years of working as an accountant and audior that I am suitably placed to challenge what the LAP decided.
I'm also more than happy to explain to you why the accounts, other than the wording of the notes, were compliant with FRS, so feel free to drop your e-mail address on your board if you wish to discuss.
I'm not sure how you concluded that I think I know better than the IDC, as I actually agreed with their findings, on the basis that you disagree with them, and think we should have a points deduction, surely it is you that thinks you know better than the IDC and LAP, and I look forward to hearing on what basis you believe you know better.
In respect of you thinking my views are not balanced, you will note that I said I believe the residual values of our players may have been manipulated to help us with FFP and I would have no problem if the IDC or LAP had requested for them to be revised in light of information that has come to light since ie; resale values or contracts expiring. Having read your posts I am struggling to see what balance you feel you add to the matter but look forward to hearing.
Anyway, don't spend too much time worrying about the opinions of fans on another teams forum...life is much too short.

We get relegated? I'll still go. A few new grounds. Still sing, still moan, still have a good time with my mates.
Administration? Points deduction? Relegation. I'll still go. A few new grounds. Still sing, still moan, still have a good time with my mates.
Club wound up and we start again in the isthmian league. I'll still go. A few new grounds. Still sing, still moan, still have a good time with my mates. etc etc.
We cant control any of it lads and ladies, enjoy your life. Football will still be there to dictate ours saturday evening moods forever.

Try not to worry too much B4, have a look at @Ghost of Clough's post on our academy thread - we played a very inexperienced team and ended with some very young boys (some of them are half of your age and even younger!) against players who are much more physically developed, and much more experienced, players who would not think twice about kicking our players up the bottom and sending them flying through the air or trying to intimidate our players to gain an advantage.
Try to remember last season and that a lot of our kids should not be judged negatively because they struggled against Chorley  -  they should be be judged positively because how well they played against the youth teams of Manchester United, Manchester City and other big clubs last season.
It doesn't matter which league our first teams play in, men Vs boys will always be a mismatch and the men will usually win.
You're a big fan of Sibley and Knight and think they are worth at least £10m each, but even if they had played earlier today it is likely that  they would still have been on the losing side.
Some of the young players you have watched today could be players you value at £10m in 2 years.
Nobody needs to tell you to keep the faith in our lads B4, but please don't concentrate on today's game, our academy will face far more suitable opposition in the next year and I'm certain you'll see us win a lot of games.

Yeah I get that though it was probably a little under priced before. You can save yourself £50 by cancelling June & July for a start, you can probably skip May too where a season is ending in a dead rubber or two (rare for us I know!).
Guess you need to assess each month whether you'll be able to see at least 3 games or not, I'd guess most months the answer will end up being yes.
There's also the option of timing your start date to skip out an international break or two?

    Davies, Wisdom Jagielka, Morrison Baldock.
We simply have to have 3 CB’s at the club and Wisdom can cover at right back too.
We need another No9 and Baldock fills that need.
Rooney will get the best out of Morrison and he as bags of talent - I think the penny has finally dropped with him to sort his life out

I’d like Aluko, but we have enough cover on the flanks with the remainder of our squad.

I agree, the smart move would have been to walk away and use his media chums to highlight the hiding to nothing he has been on at Derby so far. His name alone would get him another job at this stage. The fact he's still here has always given me hope that there is something bubbling away in the background that is going to give him a prayer of achieving anything next season, but the longer it goes on the more I think I might be clutching at straws...why ruin his reputation by staying otherwise? Right? Right???????????????

You really think the LAP are independent of the EFL?
The IDC had experts at the hearing where the matter could be discussed.
The LAP just made a decision without discussing the matter with people involved in the decisions.
I can tell you categorically that the assertion that our policy did not comply with FRS is 100% incorrect and the assumptions they used were fatally flawed.

That's what I assumed would have been included in our "case" to the EFL to relax or alter the rules around this.
I don't know how much it would cost to terminate the contracts of all youth players who featured versus Chorley, and I really don't want that to happen. However from the club's perspective, relegation would cost a lot more. If we have to play with a lot of the players who lost against Chorley, we would be relegated. It's business sense to 'sacrifice' those players for those such as Baldock, Aluko, Morrison, Jagielka etc. to give us a better chance of competing this season.
As long as we can compete and hope to keep our heads above the water, then hopefully a takeover and disciplinary issues can be sorted, and then *finally* next season we could perhaps look to build a stable football club in the Championship again.
I guess it would be the EFL's choice as to whether they'll allow us to sign the players without releasing youth players or not. There's no way we will start the season with the group of registered players we have now.

I still wouldn't rule out the nuclear option of releasing some/all of the "Chorley 8" + Brown + Hutchinson if the EFL play hardball.

I think you may find players contracts may be a little more water tight than that not to mention the ethics and reputation of the club going forwards if it is to continue in the future to be a club players want to join…..and players afterall will determine the clubs future.

You should also consider one or two other things…..
To terminate a contract both parties need to agree to it and in this climate most players / agents / lawyers will push for the maximum possible financial returns. This will include wages obviously but also, loss of income from potential bonuses, damage to career based on loss of appearances as well as accommodation and relocation costs.
For arguments sake even if you assume a player to be earning £1000 a week terminating a contract of a player of this standing with a year to run will be looking at £52k wages plus in the region of £50k rent for his accommodation allowance and all potential bonuses.
If you want to offload three players of this standing that’s in the region of £400-600k. Now consider that you want to replace them with three senior players….those players are likely to command 3 maybe 4 times the wages that the three you’ve just let go….let’s say £6-8k a week is £1.2 million in wages alone!!!
Now….let’s suppose the staff look at the playing staff and (simply on the back of Sunday) say, well Liam Thompson can do what Max Bird does….Isaac Hutchinson can do what Louie Sibley does…..Kornell McDonald can do what Byrne can do…..
Now what do you do? Tear up the contracts of those three players to the tune of £600k or do you look to sell Byrne, Sibley and Bird and make £8-12 million profit?
Ive said it before….in times like this you don’t lose the players who are in a fans eyes surplus you lose the ones that other clubs have their eyes on in a fire sale…

Talksport didnt even mention the chorley situation. This is part of the problem with our image at the moment. The media are only reporting the headlines that make us look like cheats. So now the rest of the football community and continually spreading hate about our club without knowning the full facts.

I reckon there were two reasons for his very weak tackle. First, he didn't want to give away a penalty and second, he didn't want to pick up an injury.

Yeah you missed off Ravel too but we have plenty of midfield options and his history doesn't warrant 1 of 4 spots going to him.
So you'd go with 2 CBs and Cashin as #3 then? Bit risky... I'd feel more comfortable throwing an inexperienced winger in if Lawrence or Joswiak were missing (Ebosele) plus Baldock can cover wide if needs be.
There's still the option, harsh as it sounds, to release J.Brown ? and/or Hutchinson if they're not considered close enough to being a Championship standard starter.

I had a chat with someone I know who works in the ticket office the other day, and they said the only reason they weren't selling STs was the risk of another lockdown - they have only just cleared the refunds for this season and as your accountant friend said, it has created an administrative nightmare. If I'm honest, I'm not sure how or why it's so hard administratively but there you go.
Anyway, he said the club really didn't want to go down that road again. They might well be considering half STs should all go well up until Christmas. Match by match allows them greater flexibility - the risk of course is that if crowds drop off should the team not be performing, they could lose considerable revenue.
