I just think Kirchner doesn't want MM involved in any way. Neither do we, or Team Derby. I think Team Derby have a history and relationship with MM that puts them in the best place to negotiate a dignified departure for the owner, which leaves the stadium in the hands of people who care about the future of the club.

I actually wouldn't mind if the council owned the ground long term but more likely there will be a transfer in due course.

As for CK's money, the Sun reported yesterday he has shown proof of £100 million to the EFL. Why 'waste' £20 million of that up front, if he can keep it to invest it in the team, then he'll be in a better place to buy the stadium back down the line.

Great post and makes perfect sense to me...the statement from CK regarding wanting Morris out of the picture also makes perfect sense but has unfortunately got a few of us worried this might not happen in time for saturday.

Us as fans are so fragile it seems because of all of the false promises and endless negotitaions and buyers and preffered bidders etc is it any wonder though that it only takes one comment to make us worry.....No football ground should ever be seperated from the club and hope it comes back to where it belongs and will never be used as collateral or a bargaining tool in the future ...PP is our home!!!

In that case Mel still has some form of hold on the club. He has had months to do the right thing and hasn't. Do you honestly believe anyone is going to want to pay Mel's price?

Exactly this its ridiculous to assume that anyone who is paying out millions to basically clear someone else's debts ...that the said culprit of those debts is in a position to hold the keys to the stadium!!!!  Morris owes us Roymac and all of us fans for what he's put us through and I hope to god he relinquishes the stadium back to the football club where it belongs....I don't give a stuff if he loses money on the deal.....how can anyone think Morris should get a few million for the stadium is beyond me......has everyone forgot what that clown has done to this club!!!

  3. No one can say if Pearson would've been a success here because he wasn't backed and given the chance to succeed instead the players  clique was supported by clown morris....Keogh was heavily instrumental by all accounts and its never a good idea to let players have power....I don't understand how people can call Pearson a horrible character etc ....it takes all types to be a manager and even Brian Clough was a strong opinionated character who would'nt have lasted 5 mins under Morris....I don't think Cocu ( a gentleman )had a chance here and the whole joiners arms incident for me sums up what sort of characters we had Keogh Bennett etc who showed there true colours since that event with not ounce of remorse it seems and Benetts burn video when driving past PP ( a club who gave him a chance in the game !) .....I don't think Rooney will have those sort of bad eggs in the squad

    Facetious comment alert .

Mike Ashley charges in to save us.

No let’s all back Chris Kirchner or we are finished.

Sick of hearing people say in the pubs  but I wanted Ashley.

    Why !

Because maybe because one has experience of running a football club and one .....doesnt?

  5. Hope Rooney stays but if he doesn't I'd have no hesitation in getting Nigel Clough back in who will get the right players in as this is my worry with Wayne will he know who's good for this division ?he's never played or managed at league 1 level...of course I really hope he stays and succeeds to get us up ....and before i get some belters in response...i am being serious.....I think if Rooney doesn't fancy it Nigel should be given another crack...some of his recruitment was spot on Brayford,Martin,Bryson.Barker,Coutts etc

  6. Such a shame we couldn't get something out of what always looked a tough fixture

Do think Lawrence could've done so much better for the second goal was easily beaten to the ball thought Thompson did well today was busy and industrious...i do though think having to get rid of Shinnie and Jags and not being able to bring in a  striker even just as short term  has cost us

Ashley was my original choice, however he sold Newcastle for a reported £350 million, he could have bought Derby for around £50 million making himself a very good return of around £300 million, yet he has sat back and watched the club disintigrate with the loss of the future academy players for peanuts, and alongside established senior players that the club have had to sell.

The structure of the club is broken and the rebuild of the club need not have been needed if Ashley had stepped in and bought the club, 2 to 3 months ago he would have had a team along with a fantastic academy already in place,

    Ashley is a big NO

Why should Ashley have overbid to clear Morris's wrong doings?? If he'd said 30m plus the stadium for small money then fair enough you can criticise MA but this whole mess is down to a clown owner who I would'nt trust to run a bath let alone a football club...like him or not Ashley didn't leave Newcastle in the poo like Morris did for us and he hasn't become a succesful businessman by paying nearly 20m more than its worth ...Morris is a disgrace to DCFC and has cost us several years of progression

MA is not the villain here and think we're lucky that Kirchener is prepared to buy us without the ground and about 5 players in contract.....if that is still the case after being given exclusivity to our books I'll be amazed and MA might still get the club for the price he sees as correct

  8. I stand by my previous post where it will go right to the wire and last hour before either Mel chucks stadium in and faces consequences from HMRC or Morris and his consortium buy it themselves but we will not be liquidated...MA is standing by waiting to get it at the price he has determined its worth and no more

Morris would be better off buying it back himself with less debt and owning the ground than let it go and have a stadium with no one to fill it.....

  9. I will start by re-iterating that none of us no anything and is all pure speculation so here's my spin on things

I believe that there are 2 bidders one being a consortium including Morris himself the other Appleby

None of them are offering enough and Morris knows this being far too involved in the process because he owns the ground so any negotiations have to go through him as well as he holds valuable cards to any potential bidder.

MA meanwhile is sitting waiting with a bid which he wants to include the stadium but Morris wants his 22m

Morris knows his own consortium bid is too low to clear the bar so is basically holding fire waiting for MA to increase his bid where he will then sell he can walk away with club sold and his 20-22m back

I think this only gets sorted when Appleby finally pulls out and Morris bottles it at the last min dropping his price on the stadium where MA will swoop in to buy at the price he sees its worth

I do not see MA upping his offer until its the 11th hour and only if its at the price he values it at and must include the stadium if someone in the meantime...eg Appleby manages to get more funds from somewhere he may well buy it if Mel bends slightly with the price but until the 11th hour its stalemate

Make no bones about it i firmly believe Morris wants to recoup his money

Appleby is not quite strong enough to buy it

Ashley is playing waiting game as he can....he has the money to outbid everyone but he has priced the value of the club and I don't think he'll budge hence why there has been no contact with Q for 2 months

Q cannot name PB because no one has offered enough and I 100 per cent think no one will .....so Morris In my humble opinion is holding the keys to everything.

Best case Scenario - Morris at last min drops value to virtually nothing and then has to explain to HMRC about the value of the ground because he once valued it at 80m and would've had tax benefits based on that and the 22m it cost to buy it.....hence putting himself into a situation with HMRC

Worst case scenario is Appleby pulls out Ashley does not increase his bid or Morris does not let the stadium go and Morris either buys the club back himself with his consortium or lets it all go to liquidation

I still firmly think we will not be liquidated though but may end up led by a Morris led consort not through choice but because being liquidated will be worse for him than owning it himself

Of course this may well be utter nonsense but its just my own theory of what might be happening but either way we wont be liquidated

Mel wants to keep the stadium and collect rent with a view to selling it to clear his £22m debt at some point in the future.

That way  he keeps his hand in at DCFC as landlord without honouring his tax and other debts.

It also allows him to choose the PB to achieve his aims. for him that isn’t MA or the Binnies etc. so he made sure they were rejected.

The man is an asses hole

Agree.... I go back to the monday morning discussion about football with the lads at work when a West Ham fan said " I just find it unbelievable that Morris can still be involved by owning or having financial interest in the stadium thus holding the keys to our future!!"

Thats an outsider and how he/they see it....Morris is the reason we are here....he is also not helping matters as the stadium should be part of the sale....the 22m that is mentioned he needs to forget it or pay it himself because to me he wants his cake and eat it....which previous owner who's put there club into admin has control of the stadium and holds many cards to who actually takes over ???

The situation is a total farce....some have said he's done us a favour so the next owner might sell the stadium blahdy blah.....but we might not have a football club ffs!! if he had one ounce of regret or could help this purchase go through he should do it!!! not demand 22m in instalments over years....He is not honest and was not honest when asked a few years ago were we flouting with ffp rules...he's a liar and has dragged this great football club through the dirt and back again!!

I don't give a stuff about how much Morris has lost or invested and I don't care about his 22m loan or whatever it is that needs repaying.....He really does have a nerve to be involved and yet still making demands when this club is on its knees......pay the 22m give the stadium back to whoever purchases us and let us worry about the stadium if the new owner tries to sell it......This bloke has ruined this graet club of ours and can't believe we are talking about phoenix clubs and conference north etc etc because one man took us over and completely ducked it up and then holds the keys to the stadium......beyond belief!!!???

  11. There has to be a change where a football clubs ground cannot be bought separately from the club

Morris thought he was being clever selling the ground and then investing the money into the club and supposedly keeping us afloat and avoiding ffp etc etc but the reality is his stupidity in doing this has now separated the ground from the club

if he hadn’t done this and it meant going into admin earlier if he couldn’t sell the club then we probably would’ve had a buyer by now because it included the stadium and a half decent squad !!!

so yet again Morris’s business decisions have ended up making a bad situation even worse!!! We are in big trouble now and Collymore was right when he said we were in massive grave danger as a club

no sympathy for Morris  none at all only for us fans and people working at our great club !!!

Mel Morris - For the love of God man! This Friday do the RIGHT thing and give us back our THEATRE OF DREAMS! You are breaking the hearts of 1000s of us! DO THE RIGHT THING!! UTR

This Exactly!! As I've said before this all seems to hinge on Pride Park ...Morris need to do the right thing and let it go!!! ffs

I don't care if he loses money...do the right thing write it off as a loss and hand it over to the PB ....I cannot believe this absolute club wrecker is holding cards to our future when he is responsible for putting us in this mess!!

His tenure will only be seen as a disaster and has put all Derby County Fans through the ringer for a long time now...now do the right thing and bog off and never come back! grrrrrrrrrrr?

Option 67 - just to keep you on the line for a little bit longer.

Haha yep I remember being duped many a time staying on until the end because they'd mentioned transfer gossip or something and then finding out it was regurgitated news or just old tosh from previous  week with no real new info....but never stopped me calling the number lol....bit like on here at times lol?

He couldn’t pay players wages and Taxes indefinitely and that’s why along with no income along with Covid administration was inevitable

Are we the only club affected by covid then ? our lack of paying the HMRC and racking up millions in debt is down to covid is it?

If you seriously think that I'd be amazed...he was trying to sell the club a long time before covid and not being prudent with money is not what I call running us correctly ...I also don't regard his tenure full stop as anything but poor I'm afraid we were better off when Nigel was manager and we were running a tight ship.....I wish he'd never set foot in PP because I'm even questioning him as a fan for how he's left us

Covid effected DCFC with no income coming in.
Brighton lost 54 Million due to Covid .

Derbys wages were high and that’s because we chased the dream

    PS effected or affected!

No excuses I'm afraid as a businessman he knows only too well that everyone has to pay there tax bill.... he didn't

wages were high but not because we ( us fans! )chased the dream it was because he was incompetent

We believed he was running the club correctly not putting our club into jeopardy

  16. This theory that Morris may be one of interested parties?

so someone can put club up for sale at ridiculous price then go into admin walk away and get admin team to buy club paying off a percentage of debt…then can bud themselves to walk back in and take over!! really?
