That is absolutely disgusting and Mel and Pearce should be completely ashamed of themselves for allowing that to happen. Revolting behaviour.
Seems it’s not just the fans he treats with contempt then. Don’t start me on Pearce, effin’’ lapdog with no backbone.

Well I’d like to thank Rooney for turning up if that is the case. He’s a better man than me, I’d have been like F U Morris if you haven’t got the good grace to inform me about such a monumental decision. Morris seems to be a piece of work for sure.

If he's any sense what so ever he'll stay away.
I see where you are coming from and probably think it would be for the best but if he believes he is as innocent in all this as the club statement would have us believe...

I wonder if Morris will attend the game today as we are not technically in administration yet ? Has he got more front than Harrods ? Will diplomacy and a non attendance be the order of the day ? ?
I couldn’t call it.

It may be that MM has done wrong by us but shouldn’t we listen to what he has to say on the matter before we make damning judgment?
It may be that administration is the only course available to us. He might have something in mind to help us. We don’t know how the conversations have gone or what the long term plans are.
So you’re right in seeking open discussion.
I’m surprised you think there may be any truth to anything he had to say Anag, you only have to read the statement the club put out last night absolving Morris for any blame for where we are this morning. But fair play, giving him the benefit of the doubt is your prerogative so I have to respect that.
Myself, I think his action are beyond treacherous, he has deceived a lot of people and the more I think about it the easier it becomes to see why Gibson wanted to take him down. Unfortunately the fans are the collateral damage in all this and it’s (mostly) us that are sickened this morning.
UTR.

Sickened. Just saw a clip of Morris taking in the adulation on Sky Sports News, I wanted to custard pie him. I honestly thought he would run the club with dignity and responsibly.
Big mistake.

It would appear that all other clubs have received the support grant (£8.3m for Championship clubs apparently), so the effects of Covid on them has been mitigated, at least temporarily.
And why was that grant denied this club ? In fact, don’t bother to reply that question, sorry to waste your time with it .

I don’t know what I’m more cheesed off about this morning between being so wrong about Morris being a good thing for this club or the statement the club put out last night absolving him of any responsibility for where we find ourselves this morning.
Covid, it would seem has had no or very little impact on the other 71 clubs in the Football League yet it’s had devastating consequences for DCFC. Not the bloke calling the shots, nah, it’s all down to Covid. And they expect us to swallow that guff and think aw, poor Mel.
Well, I’m not buying a word of that club statement, I think the club think the fans came down with the last shower and it is insulting.

You should have titled your thread WE Are Derby, emphasising it’s us that’ll be there through thick and thin. Some players and management may want to still be part of the club in the near future but may be forced to move on to pastures new through no choice of their own, who knows ?
But WE will still be around because you can change your car or your Mrs but you can’t change your football club.

If it’s 12 points and no more then i can see why they’ve done it. Why take 9 points and still owe all of the money when you can take 3 more points and payback pence for every pound of debt.
I’m under the impression it’ll be 12 + what The EFL deem appropriate but hey, I was under the impression Morris would be good for the club so take my input with a barrel full of salt.

Surely can be said now
Surely it’s irrelevant what was said, whatever was said was probably so far removed from the actual truth it’s not worth bothering about.
If Morris or Pearce told me it was raining I’d go outside to see if I got wet.

Shambles doesn’t even come close to describing this clusterfeck under Morris’s guardianship. It transpires Mel Morris is to Derby County Football Club What King Herod was to babysitting.
But I’ve got to old my hands up, I thought we were in safe hands and bought into his initial vision for the club. Feel a little foolish tonight but console myself by thinking I was just conned by a master BSer . I can kind of see why some people wanted to cut him down to size in retrospect.

Just looked at our September fixtures, some tough games there. Anything over 5 points for me would be a bonus.

An on the case mod would have merged this with either of the other Will Hughes threads. Just sayin’ ?

Still nervous. I never think a one goal cushion is ever enough for us. Judging by what I’m reading on here the ref’s had his orders from the EFL.
Thanks for the updates all, keep ‘em coming second half please. COYR ?

Oh my word...that’s what we want to see Tom, take a bow son. ?

Soz Moz, I thought this was the matchday thread and posted then deleted idle chitter chatter. ?

In normal circumstances it might be an exciting League this season. Only 6 points between a bottom 3 place and a play off place currently.
Obviously things will open up as the season progresses but I never thought we’d be on double figures already. Huge credit to Rooney and his team, the players and the fans in attendance today. ?
