Every time I put the telly or radio on it seems to be somebody in Qatar saying they disagree with the world cup in Qatar. 
Have they all been kidnapped? 

I switch the TV on for the build up to the England match, if Gary Lineker is on I put the TV on mute ?

Not OTT in my view. That isn’t a flash of red mist which anyone could fall foul of. That is an act that has been thought about and executed with forethought and deliberation. 

Perhaps at some point in the future, after a mountain of contrition, the ban could be relaxed but that behaviour was so disgusting and uncivilised that the offender has no place in any sort of sporting arena. The lifetime ban is more than a punishment; it is a signal of a communities total rejection of someone who could do that. 

I’m sorry, what? A fan urinates in a player’s bottle and he drinks it and you think that doesn’t warrant a lifetime ban? It’s probably the absolute minimum it warrants!

There’s a reason we don’t go round drinking each others pee. And it’s not a carefully calculated risk assessment based on local population and potential infection rates. It’s because it’s f****** grim. It doesn’t really warrant much more explanation than that. 

Isn't encroachment onto the pitch a lifetime ban offence? Isn't assaulting a player a lifetime ban?
Personally, a lifetime ban for me would be the minimum he should receive.

Wrong editorial decision for me.
Showing Morgan Freeman talking about "Football for All" whilst some crap stage props parade around the pitch would be more revealing than Shearer, Scott and Williams giving their surface level opinions.

No. I think it's utterly vacuous. I appreciate the anger about the working conditions in Qatar, but if you genuinely feel that strongly and want to make a statement, don't go. Don't broadcast it. Don't watch it. I won't be watching a second, but I have 0 respect for footballers and football associations thinking they're making any kind of relevant statement with their toned down shirts and rainbow armbands.

And folk are allowed to think he wasn't treated poorly.
He was announced as INTERIM manager. He was treated as an interim manager and we appointed someone else. Where is the poor treatment? ?

Ya know chaps and chapettes, folk are allowed to think Liam was treated poorly and should have been given more time AND that the cheeky chappy in charge is doing alright too. I do.
The endless carping and backbiting from BOTH sides has gone on long enough and to be honest it's getting really tiresome now.

Harsh thread this. He deceives to flatter.
He looks clumsy with the ball at his feet and moves around like a thunderbirds puppet. But he makes plenty of important aerial challenges and so often puts his body in the right place. 

I've just had a funny thought, I've imagined a scene where there is this instructor on a EUFA Pro license course, lecturing a small class consisting of Busby, Fergie, Shanks and Clough on how football should be played. The expressions on their faces would be amusing.

Honestly Dave, that’s a brilliant insightful post. I don’t think Warne is Busby, Fergie, Shanks or Clough but I do think he understands instincts and natural play. We have been over coached over theoried over tacticed - Science works, it has value but there is a point and level where you don’t need to know the precise force in Newton/Metres needed to dive a nail in to a piece of oak ; because while you were calculating it, someone else just got a big hammer and hit it.

You just have a different view point to him. For a 5-0 win, it wasn't all that spectacular. I thought his comments were fair and reasonable. 

I agree with him. It was the poorest 5 nil win I've ever seen. 
They were very open to the point of being suicidal, so we were always going to score. 
No control of the game even when 3, 4, 5 up. 
Some poor performances from 3 or 4 players today 
 
 

He was honest in his interview. Would you rather he spoke in the classic football manager interview style of giving complete none answers? He gave an honest appraisal. 

Fairly professional job done.  Their player Lapslie should have been off twice.  Filthy player.  Osula needs to learn to pass rather than run into 3 players.  if he passes to McGoldrick once in the first half and after a 60 yard sprint by the old boy in the second, it's 7-0.  He looked proper pissed off with the second after that run went begging. 

There was no issue. If someone doesn't like a manager they will always find an issue no matter what he says.
Warne was happy we'd won, thought we'd played well in parts and not so good in other parts. A fairly sensible and innocuous interview I thought.

Good interview from Richard Stearman. Comes across very well and as a real good team player.
