baiano27 got a reaction from DCFC1388 in 21/22 Season Tickets
I'd renewed my season ticket last year so nice and easy this time as its all set up as renewed this year now but for those with juniors please note you have to renew that season ticket manually. Just need to go to season tickets then renew and it pops up automatically. My son is 5 so its still free but those with 6+ will need to pay I presume.

That Rooney/LR are harming the on field side as much as Morris/EFL have off field.

We don't have depth but we certainly have a starting XI that could win matches. IRC burley had to put up with a lot of nonsense off the field when the 3 amigo's were 'running' the club but he still picked up some results.
I appreciate that we can't afford to sack him but would one option be to put him on gardening leave and put maclaren in charge until we have new owners?

baiano27 reacted to DCFC Kicks in What would McClaren do with this team?
All Mac (or anyone for that matter) would have to do is get 2 wins out of 20 to improve the team, wouldn't he get at least that out of them?

baiano27 reacted to Chris_Martin in What would McClaren do with this team?
Completely disagree.
This team would suit Mac very well. We have enough technical ability in the team and i could easily see Mac getting Bird & Morrison to control a game. With Bielik to come back in as well i think Mac would love to have the majority of these players.
I would rather see Wassell in charge than Rooney but Mac would do a better job than both of them. Understand your point about Wassell and the young players, but Mac has a fantastic record of developing young players. Just look how he helped Bamford, Hughes, Hendrick, Ibe, etc.
Unlike Wassell, Mac is literally just sitting at the club doing nothing. We can't sign players so he hasn't really got any work to do. I mean what have we got to lose giving Mac the job, we can't get any worse than we are now!

He should really walk,it would be the best for both sides.

baiano27 got a reaction from Deej in Has the lockdown(s) made you care more about Derby?
Unfortunately I'm locked in as I renewed in September otherwise i'd be taking a break. Enjoyed going to watch my local side when non-league football was on before christmas and can't stand the Rooney experiment. Hopefully new owners come in, see sense, replace the manager and things turn around on the pitch. Otherwise I'll probably just go to a couple of home matches and try and catch the away games in the West Midlands.

Derby is his Salford? We're Derby for god's sake, we shouldn't be some project for a first time manager to play with. What has he done to deserve such trust? nearly get us relegated?
Steeliness? Focus? I think you're just choosing to see what you want to see, but the stats don't lie. The collapse last season under Rooney was abysmal and I don't care what anyone says, the quality of players we had should not have sunk that low.
I wish I had your view but he's given me absolutely no reason to have such optimism.

Isn’t the biggest worry the fact that Rooney has decided to stick with zonal marking. It shows he has learnt nothing and we will be struggling from every set piece in every game. Let’s hope Curtis takes charge on the pitch, disregards orders and sets us up properly.

Rooney is an absolute bell. This defence is a joke, every single cross into the box is a chance to score because we have no one on the pitch who can head a ball whatsoever. What did he expect? He probably didn’t expect because he’s absolutely useless.

Jeez...I mean I thought we would lose and really didn't particularly care as for us right now this is an irrelevant game..but this zonal marking needs to be confined to history..

If you're looking at football to be reputable and some kind of moral guide I suggest you repoint your compass. Next you'll be surprised that MP's fiddle their expenses or that Sir Phillip Green could leave a pension fund hole.

Dad was born in raised in Matlock. He never went but my grandfather did. I was born in raised in the West Midlands, south west of Birmingham. When I got into football my dad did too and we had a season ticket together from 94-03 before I moved to Asia for 15 years. My sister and mum started to go when I left the UK and when I moved back to my home village 3 years ago i renewed my season ticket. Having worked in the management side of a professional league (never work in the business side of a sport you like!)/ covid/ behaviour of EFL (which surpasses the corruption/ nonsense i've experienced and that says a lot)/ the management of the club, my love of the sport is fast waining. But the club have a year to turn things around seeing as they have my money for another season....

Nice of them to tell us then. This football club is a shambles from top to bottom. Why couldn’t this have been explained in a simple email to all parents of Rams Squad members so that we could have made an informed choice about whether we wanted to remain as current season ticket holders or claim a refund. I feel like they have kept my £550 for over a year knowing full well I wasn’t going to get what I paid for and that, for all they know, I might no longer be able to afford to take the person I go with. They didn’t have the manners or common courtesy to actually tell me. What a shocking way to treat your customers/fans - absolutely despicable. The common courtesy of a letter or an email is obviously too much to ask.

Thanks. Just odd they've completely missed out the whole section of junior rams membership season ticket holders. Must be quite a few...

If none of the trialists are signing why on earth are we giving Morrison game time ahead of Sibley?
Either this isn’t true, or we are screwing over one of youngsters!

baiano27 reacted to Jourdan in Liam Delap
I am not writing him off. I am just wondering why some people see a player of his type as the messiah.
He is very much unproven and very much in need of development, just like any other player of his age.
The hype behind Mount and Wilson was justified. Prior to joining us, they had played for other clubs (Vitesse and Hull) and given a significant glimpse of their potential.
Delap has made one substitute appearance in the Premier League, played a full 90 minutes in the League Cup, and had a 15 minute cameo in the FA Cup.
I am not entirely sure that equates to top Championship striker in waiting.

Sure, and I think that is what differing opinions are. i understand your view in light of where we are but the story is deeper, and way more subtle.
I don’t shy away from the fact that Mel made errors, including the academy dream, but for many of us that was a realistic idea / method to make the club sustainable in a financial environment that made “normal” business impossible. It might seem a crazy idea, but with the state of championship finances what other business model was available ? … answer = none … now I would be the first to admit we paid too much for players, we paid daft salaries, we sold players too cheaply bought more expensively, we (Mel) supported managers way beyond what pragmatism would suggest but in the end that was about poor choices not lack of support or commitment. Hind sight is wonderful isn’t it .. come on .. when we went in for Johnson and others everyone was saying ….. Bold, supportive, ha ha we’ve got deep pockets uncle Mel .. yes some of us winced at the prices but it wasnt our money and it looked great at the time.
Yes I agree we need a new leader but .. hello … 12 million PA losses in normal circumstances and a pandemic inflating that x 2 along with FFP/ P+S
any takers ?

baiano27 reacted to jono in Has the transfer embargo been lifted?
That’s fair enough, true !
Consider .. you had a dream, you had some money to spend, you tried your very best to achieve it. It didn’t work. It has to be either very hard or very wrong to criticise someone who eventually is forced by circumstances (rather than deeds ) to retreat. Everyone is human and everyone has finite resources. The Americans snatched Mels hands off .. they couldn’t wait to bail out, no matter how hard they tried to make a sustainable business .. one that we all said “lacked ambition” .. Truth is fans want a sugar daddy to finance their dreams … they aren’t easy to find and I can’t countenance folk having a go at Mel for doing his level best with the cards he had. Uncle Mel bailed us out of that Hughes/Bryson double injury … For me that’s where the the plan went astray .. but you can’t fault Mel for giving support when it was needed.

baiano27 got a reaction from MickD in Captain Tom Lawrence
I can see the reasoning for Rooney doing this as he is hoping it will improve his performances. However I've not seen any leadership qualities from Tom and I think its another poor decision from Rooney. We are going to need a captain that can lift the team through the difficult times we are going to face. We are going to have to fight for every point. I just can't see what Lawrence can offer....
