Sibley is so evidentally miles better than anyone else on our team. If Rooney isn't going to play him every single second he's fit then sell him for me. Deserves loads better than this circus.

So, what's this new style we are going to be seeing glimpses of tomorrow?
I don't think it will be a whole new formation but hopefully a faster transition and a proper 4-3-3, rather than two defensive midfielders.

Build the team around Louie Sibley and look at him set the league alight. Hopefully Jack Stretton to bag lots of goals too.
[Sadly Rooney won't play either of them]

Think you've proven my point to an extent. He has moments of genius but he lacks consistency & discipline. Being captain requires both of those attributes to improve & the hope is that this appointment will focus his mind - particularly with him playing for a last big contract probably elsewhere (he's 28 in Jan) & wanting to be part of a Welsh squad going to the World Cup next year.
Did see some promising signs from him back end of last season (during an atrocious run for the team in general) - scored 3 in our last 7, looked menacing in general & worked hard. Perhaps Rooney is able to get the best out of him. We will see.

I would love Nixon to be right on this issue, and hope we are taken over soon, heard some rumours about the take over, but will not say as its just rumours but hope we get this over the line ASAP. As fans we need some positive news, as there has been so much negativity recently, there most be some good news around the corner please.

Fla Ram reacted to Ghost of Clough in RamsTV Subscription increased by EFL
Money was a major factor, but so too was how short sighted the EFL were with signing the Sky deal. The world is moving away from standard TV services provided by the likes of Sky, and moving towards subscription services such as Netflix and Amazon.
The Sky deal is worth about £100m per season (shared between all three leagues), working out at about £2.5m for a top Championship club. In recent seasons (probably not last season), we'd be on Sky 15 times, pulling in about 400,000 viewers each time - 40p per viewer.

Back onto the streaming deal... As has been shown time and time again, high prices results in illegal streams. With the changes over the last 10 or so years, illegal downloads of music and movies is now almost non-existent. Availability and cost to the customer has been slashed, with overall income shooting up.
By doubling the cost, I wouldn't bet against more than half ending their subscriptions. Some people would have previously left their subscription running over the summer out of convenience. There's no chance of that now - paying £50/75 to watch nothing other than maybe 3 or 4 pre-season games isn't going to happen.
Also, every game on Sky is unavailable to watch outside of the dark market countries. Typically, that leaves 30 games through a season which are available. It's not far off being better to just pay for single games.
Don't Sky charge £25 pm? With that you can watch every Derby game and lots more. Sadly, it makes RamsTV poor value for money in comparison. The change will undoubtedly reduce the amount of income for clubs via streaming services.

Fla Ram reacted to S8TY in Have we progressed at all under Rooney?
IMO No ....Cocu did not have the Beilik factor whereas Rooney did and  we may well have had a better start to the season if Beilik had played and Rooney was as sharp and fitter as he was the previous season
The youngsters have not improved for me under Rooney and we seem bereft of a playing style with results papered over with Beilik in the side, he literally made such a difference.
This is why I don't get why we didn't get a CDM in on loan for the remainder of the season Bangime hardly played so surely was imperative to get a holding player in when we had the chance to try and fill the gap

I've read some right nonsense about this lad on here and on Twatter and the like. IMO, he's a talented young lad and we're lucky to have him. Hopefully he can really kick on this season as it must have been a proper baptism of fire last year.
It's often the case that young players coming from abroad take a season to settle in and I think with Bielik's injury, being stuck away from home under lockdown, playing in a side so short of confidence, not to mention reading some of the garbage spewed about him in the dark recesses of social media, it really can't have been easy. If we actually play with a bit of tempo this season, I can see him doing really well. His work ethic is superb and that earns him some credit with me irrespective.

Imagine Autumn 1972, Derby about to play Benfica, you approach from Osmaston Road, up to Shaftsbury Crescent, you take the slight brow of the hill and walk down towards the BBG, the days when the houses were only 30 feet from the ABC stand, there are so many people swirling and jostling to get to their part of the ground you can hardly move, it is a sea of of people. There are Police horses, hot dog stands, programme sellers, the feeling was unbelievable for a kid. It took us so long to get to our turnstile that night, we were in the Normanton Paddock, the only place we could get tickets, we had to be walked along the edge of the pitch, and pushed into the front of the crowd. What a night. Great view of the goals too as all three were scored at the Normanton End. I remember those days so vividly, feel very lucky to have seen the games I have, and experienced football at it's rawest, home and away. To think no one now will feel the thrill of a packed terrace when your team scores. Nothing like it.

£125m for being the worst team in the league.
    Just let that sink in.
One hundred and twenty five million pounds for being crap.
That’s 3 clubs coming down with a total of £381m, but that’s not all, the Premier League will also give them parachute payments to soften the blow.
Sorry to start another topic on this, but it’s a topic that needs to be repeated, football is broken. It’s broken and they are doing nothing about it. Why?
We have to try and compete with those 3 next year, with barely any revenue we have to compete against clubs with over £100m in their back pockets.
    What hope do we have?
Yes I know money doesn’t always = success, Brentford beat Bournemouth, made it to Wembley but how many years have they been trying to get there?
Whoever goes up it’s a major achievement, getting past the parachute payment clubs, it’s huge, one season up there and they have banked over £100m, it’s madness.
We can never have a completely level playing field, I understand that, but the PL and EFL could come together and distribute that money out more fairly.
    Why are they not?
Why are these questions not being asked?
Do we need to see more clubs liquidated, more clubs going bankrupt trying to compete from the Championship to League 2, all the national media journalists will be all over that, justice for Bury, why not call it out now?
Heads are so far up the Premier League’s backside the Football League barely gets a mention.
I’m ranting I know, but £125m for being crap.
Who signs off on that and thinks it’s good for football?
    It’s broken, football is broken.

Been a tough season for him especially, but man did he deliver in that game yesterday.
Just watching the highlights again. He effectively kept us up. Nearly cut himself in two on the post, scored the header, great hold-up and chest down for Roberts, slotted Jozwiak through and had the balls to hammer in a superb penalty.
His Derby career has been a very mixed bag and I feared the worst first minute when the ball pinged about 10 yards off his shin and he went steaming into the challenge, thankfully missing the guy.
I’ll take his mixed bag career for what he fid yesterday. I’m quite sure that’s it for him here, so all the best and thanks for yesterday!

Well trying what hasn't worked all season didn't work again in the first half. However the goal wasn't Fozzy's fault for not heading the ball clear - he was given a massive whack in the back as he jumped for the ball, but no free kick given. Qu'elle surprise! But it wasn't the ref's fault that Wednesday scored - all the way through the first we has watched them be first to the loose ball and first to the second ball, so it was no surprise that we watched them bundle the ball over the line. In addition, Wednesday pressed and harried us all the time, while we gave them the freedom of the pitch. We have proved that high pressing works, but as ever we simply couldn't be bothered.
What happened at half time I don't know, but we were much more threatening in the second half, although we had threatened the gaol far more than the Wendies in the first half. And then the magic few moments to put us in front - great work from Tom, Waggy and Roberts, who couldn't miss his chance, despite wearing a Derby forward's shirt!
At which point we promptly started sitting back and trying to defend our huge one goal lead. It doesn't work. And it didn't work. 2 - 2, alth9ough how a player who is the only one on the goal line when the ball comes through him isn't offside I'll never know. Another crap refereeing decision which could have meant relegation, but as ever it was our own fault that the chance was even there, because we sat back instead of pushing for another goal, which at  the time, we needed to make sure.
Joswiack coming on was a real benefit because he has a "Lets get at them2 mentality, and holds the ball really well. IN reality it showed what we should have done from the start - get on the front foot and cause them trouble. You could say that he drew the foul for the penalty, but all he was doing was going for goal, with the foul coming as a result of pushing forwards. Sadly, I cold have scored Robert's second chance, and I'm 64 years old and have no boots! Thankfully it didn't matter, and the Rotherham  chairman can now spend the entire close season shouting insults and threats to the match officials, and listen to the echoes all by himself.
Waggy really earned the shirt today - did you hear the clatter as he hit the goal post in the first half - I was sure he was going to hospital  for that. Well done him! He was worth the shirt today, but that is just one match, with him blagging the shirt on a freebie for the rest of the season. And thankfully the players did leave everything on the pitch today. Well done. What about all the other matches, where you carted it all back of to the changing rooms?
What today showed is that we do have sufficient ability to be much higher up the league table than we have been, and that largely our problems have come from admittedly from what the players do or don't do on the pitch, but more than that it has been cause by poor team selection, poor tactics, and poor substitutions.
Here's to much, much better next season.
