    Adams Park Stadium
    Wednesday, April 10th – Kick-Off: 19.45
Still a full week to go before another match to savour, this time against a club who can sensibly lay claim to having the greatest car park in all of football. So, what is there to say about L1’s perennial not-so-nearly men? Well, they have a fantastic chairman don’t they! Who else would be magnanimous enough to name their ground after our legendary midfield destroyer, Ebou? More to the point, how did he even know Ebou was coming to Derby? Clever chap, I suppose, which is probably why he now owns more ambulances than the NHS. As for Wycombe the town, well some brief research shows that Wycombe is notable only for being surrounded by places that are not dumps. Also, for weighing its mayors to see whether they have been getting rich on the public pound. Oh, The Cornetto Trilogy too, for any Hot Fuzz fans out there.
Moving onto Wycombe FC, well what can I say?
No, really, what can I say?
Oh, alright then! Their Wiki bio states that Wycombe Wanderers Football Club is an English professional association football club based in the town of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Founded in 1887, they entered the Southern League in 1896. Despite being around forever though, they’ve won the square root of feck all and in 137 years, have only managed to accrue around 7,000 supporters. I’m no maths whizz, but by utilising my trusty abacus, I’ve calculated that at their current rate of growth, they will hit Derby levels of support in only 508.86 years. Something to look forward to, then.
    Key Threats
Well they are two-fold and to be taken seriously; firstly, there’s the threat of legal action and secondly, there’s a very real possibility that they’ll attempt to hoof half our team into the stands. Fortunately for us, we’ve already paid them out, so they’re now feasting on the bones of other clubs in financial strife. Also, their stands are tiny and their team is rubbish, so if any Wycombe player does attempt to half-volley Liam Thomson into the North Stand, he’ll probably miss it altogether.
On the pitch, after a seriously deep dive, the only threats I’ve come up with are Luke Leahy who has amassed 8 goals and 6 assists this season from @40 starts, Dale Taylor with 5 and Joseph Low with 4. I was going to visit their forum to try to discern some interesting insider titbits for you lot; team strategy, injuries, pie quality and the like, but I immediately realised I’d rather eat my own vomit, so I didn’t bother. Feel free to have a gander yourselves though.
    The Team
I think we’ll likely see the same starting 11, or very close to it. Fortunately, we now have the aforementioned Ebou Adams, so when they kick us, he’ll kick them back. Several times each, probably. That said, I think if we play our own game and don’t get sucked into Wycombe’s peculiar brand of anti-football, we may well win and win well.
And sadly, that’s all folks, as the pub beckons and in truth, I’d not really counted on us getting past both Blackpool and Pompey and have nothing else prepared. A final note though, for away supporters looking for things to do before and after the game, might I recommend a trip to Henley, Marlow or Windsor instead?

I can get behind this one. But for me, it's the two games against Barnsley and Charlton. They were especially galling given that we lead in both games. Even holding on to a draw in both would have put us 3 behind Portsmouth and 6 clear of Bolton.
That being said, every team will have those types of results - the ifs buts and maybes. You only have to go back to Bolton losing 4-1 to Blackpool, scraping a last minute draw against Barnsley, or Posh losing 3-1 to bottom of the league Carlisle.

Their 1st? Might have been just offside but too close to call and the ref's assistant got it right in giving the benefit of any doubt to the attacking side. Handball for the 2nd by Raggett, definitely, although Collo's half hearted "challenge" didn't help. The ref taking account of the slippery pitch saved JW early doors and their player (Saydee?) when he took Sibs out 5 hours late. Their player was looking for the penalty, imo, he appeared to be going down of his own volition as soon as he felt contact. The ref didn't buy it. I have to admit I thought it was one and then, from the front on replay understood why it wasn't given. Another day, another ref and it, and the 2 red cards, would have been given. Swings and roundabouts. They had the lion's share of possession, we had more shots, same amount on target. The fox may have cost us a 3rd as we had numeric advantage and it was our speed merchants up there. Stopping play was the right decision imo. All in all, I view a draw as the right result.

Thought he was lucky to go cardless after that early bodge chasing a lost ball that was only ever curling and swerving further away from goal.
Should have stopped early and returned empty handed, or at the very least changed the plan late, and punted it out for a throw.
I feared a red card if I'm honest.  He was well outside the box, slippy conditions or not!
    Phew!

... And I've seen a few comments re their second goal, and how he should have saved it.  Personally, I thought he was unlucky, as he got half a hand to it.
If keepers saved everything, there'd be no game to watch!

Anatomy of a Fall on Amazon Prime for £4.49.
We ended up watching this in two halves after starting it a bit late on Sunday.
At half-time, I was pretty stoked.
It had fabulous acting and a well-written script, and I felt it was bubbling up nicely.
The second half started with a clever court scene with more really excellent acting.
    Then nothing happened much.
Rather than building to a crescendo, it just disappeared up its own arse.
I thought I was getting Stimac/10, and ended up with Steve Mac/10

After all the months of hype and award nominations I thought I'd finally give this a go.
Not sure what all the fuss is about if I'm honest. A few decent jokes but the satire is spoonfed as opposed to being cleverly done and I was a bit bored, actually.
5/10 for the design. Will Ferrell was good value (and I'm not normally much of a fan of his)

Just booked 11 nights Cyprus (Nissi Beach) for the end of May half term, at our favourite hotel (Olympic Lagoon). I'm not making the same mistake as last year and going in August - waaaay too hot!.
Also have bought a new tent this year, after the previous one was damaged by getting covered in tree sap last spring - so will be doing a few camping long weekends in the UK from June-September.

While I 100% agree with that, I know of 2 people in my circle of acqaintances who are currently "playing the mental health card" to get out of working. One of them even said, with a big smile, that metal health is becoming the new "bad back".
Sadly there will always be the few, who will end up making it harder for the many. It's not wrong for those playing the game to be called out on it.

Whilst that's true, it is and always will be a tiny minority that succeed in gaming the system. Certainly when it comes to claiming long term benefits. I have close friends with disabilities that limit their mobility and ability to work and the hoops they have had to jump through to get PIP payments are unbelievable to the point of being dehumanising. It has actually had an adverse effect on their mental health to even go through it!
In terms of those who get signed off work short-term by a GP for mental health issues - regardless of whether they joke about it or not, if they really hate their job so much that they are willing to go to those lengths then you might argue that they have bigger mental health issues than they realise!

I was given my first taste of beans when I was a young child. Took an instant dislike to their flavour, texture and smell and haven't touched another one since.
Always believed I was an oddity for not liking beans, I've only met one other person who didn't like them. But after reading this thread, surprised there are more people who also don't eat beans, than I thought.
