If any club has aspiration of being in the Premier League, they have to have at least a Category 3 Academy (starting from 24/25). As such, Brentford started that transition this season by opening a Category 4 Academy. It will take them 2 full seasons to improve their infrastructure to meet Category 3 requirements. This is despite previously having a Category 2 Academy up until 2016.
The long term rewards from maintaining a Category 1 Academy far outweigh the short term savings from dropping down a category (or more).

Oduroh is listed in the first team squad despite still being viewed as an U21 by Warne.
Moore, Moloney, Richards, will be stepping up after completing their scholarships.
Hawkins has been a regular all of last season despite only being a 1st year scholar.
Cox, KRobinson, Davidson, DBrown and Wheeldon had a taste of U21 football last season as 1st year scholsrs and will be looking to build on that.
I'm not expecting many signings, due to having an effective squad size of 17 prior to any being loaned out, and match day squads being boosted by a deeper first team (players needing minutes) and U18s squad members filling in when needed (Gill, McAndrew, etc).

A week away in June. 2 adults, 2 kids.
I can go on an all inclusive holiday to Spain, 4 star hotel and flights included for £1600. Add an extra £100 for taxi or parking... £1700
Or, I can go to Llandudno and pay £1000 for a 4 star hotel with breakfast, pay £100 for fuel and parking, spend £500 on food and drinks, waste £100 in the arcades and cheap tat... £1700
You could go on a caravan holiday with the likes of Haven and it'll be £200-500 cheaper for the week.
But, I'd still choose the holiday abroad for two main reasons.
    1. The weather
    2. The convenience of not having to do anything

As good as Cashin is, I can't see Warne not going with an experienced player as first choice central CB, therefore Cashin is the LCB and no point signing Thorniley.

He always has been a fantastic s*** stopper. When we first signed him, his distribution and catching from catches were two of his strengths too. He seemed to lose confidence in catching the ball after the Playoff Final, but improved a lot towards the end of his spell with us.
He was my number 1 keeper and wouldn't have wasted time or budget on Hamer, Marshall or Allsop.

We should be looking for 2 new starters alongside Cashin. Roberts being CB and LB cover. Rooney out on a season long loan to get a consistent run of football with a recall clause in for January.
No doubt we'll be after either Harding (rumoured to have been given a tour by Warne last week) or Pennington for the RCB position. Harding would cover RWB too.
A dominant CB like Sonny Bradley for the other position.
Potentially a 3rd CB who isn't expected to play too much but can be relied upon - such as Warne's very good friend, Richard Wood.
    RCB: Harding, Forsyth
    CB: Bradley, Wood
    LCB: Cashin, Roberts
