Just read (yet another pessimistic) Matt Slater article in the Athletic. From his sources and I do think he’s genuine, the view from outside Derby within football, and from agents, insolvency experts, administrator, lawyers, brokers - most people he has spoken to think liquidation is a distinct possibility as the debts are just too high. He has taken this view from the start and to be honest, the things he cited in his latest article to justify his argument - the companies house statement of affairs -for the most part weren’t new news and don’t make our position more precarious.
But while I don’t share his pessimism, his article highlights the situation. We’re relying on someone seriously wealthy who potentially is prepared to pay over the odds because they can see long term potential and are prepared to risk losing money to fulfill an ambition of owning a football club.

We have posters saying they are not comfortable about how close Kirchner is to Rooney and his people and concerned that Rooney may have brought them in thus making him almost bulletproof in the job. We have people concerned at Rush/Appleby being involved again (even though they won’t - their in the game of bringing bidders to the table they won’t be around post acquisition). Quite simply we don’t have a bloody choice. There’s 4 at the moment who is to say the other 3 won’t walk away, or god forbid all 4. Quite simply we don’t have a bloody choice who we get, we should accept whoever we get from these 4 credible bidders with open arms because it will mean the club is saved whatever happens. I think I’ve been swept up by the confidence of the administrators, this remains a tricky situation.
On a more positive note, in the comments on Matt Slater’s article Matt also reveals he’s recently spoken to an insolvency expert who thinks the administrator might have a convincing argument to persuade HMRC to accept 25p in the pound (the minimum EFL requirement) on the basis that with football creditors needing to be paid, if the company (DCFCs 6 companies or whatever) don’t have the assets to settle the debt HMRC can’t compel a new owner to settle it. He’s the only person to argue this though. Additionally his sources think Wycombe and Boro don’t have much of a case against us, they’d be better off going after the EFL for not enforcing their rules properly. Therefore their claims are more of an annoyance rather than a legitimate concern threatening a deal.
We wait and see. Im an optimist and therefore remain hopeful but we should be grateful for whoever takes a punt on us because we’re not in a position to pick and choose.

If we don't get a buyer these 21 points become irrelevant.

When the 12 point deduction was announced, the fans rallied behind the team. The team put in some sterling performances, hopes were high that we would overcome the the penalty imposed by the EFL and the club would avoid relegation. But due to the last few performances that initial positivity appears to be slowly ebbing away.
So unless something dramatic happens over the next few games. The rest of the season is going to fell very long and very demoralizing for both the players and the fans.

I got 2 million for him on football manager 2022. He went to Southampton. Needless to say he hasn't played a game for them either.

one_chop reacted to Steve Buckley’s Dog in Charlton Athletic and Ipswich Town to sue Derby County
Charlton Athletic are set to sue Derby County for £25 million after the ball burst in the 1946 FA Cup Final. If it hadn’t burst then we might have won or got some good players or something, said a Charlton spokesman. Meanwhile Ipswich Town also announced they were going to sue Derby County due to some reason or other. We might have won more games if they hadn’t beaten us in them, cited an Ipswich spokesman. It simply wasn’t fair that they had better players and scored more goals. We want £40 million and Martyn Waghorn back.
Meanwhile American fast food chain McDonalds announced that they were going to sue Derby County for fielding a player with their brand name. Flagrant breach of copyright, claimed a spokesman for the evil corporation.
In other news the EFL announced a further 9 points deduction for Derby County after the midlands side finished their 0-0 draw against Swansea with 5 full backs on the pitch. Everyone knows you should have two full backs, said a source close to Rick Parry. Derby ended the game with 5 players who full back could be considered their tecognised position. That is clearly too many. We checked the rules but couldn’t find anything specific about this so we all agreed that 3 points per extra full back sounded about right.

Meanwhile Wycombe have announced they aren’t going to sue Derby County for getting them relegated by buying Nick Blackman when they were two leagues below after they realised it was totally ridiculous and so far fetched as to be laughable.

*Has anything ever gone wrong with your football club? Not won enough points? Let in last minute winners to players who can’t even drive and park their car properly? Why not sue Derby County? Contact Gibson and Parry Solicitors for your claim form.

Said it before many times, and I'll say it again. The DET has absolutely no journalistic merit at all. None. They only care about dedicating the maximum amount of screen space to adverts as possible and churning out the highest volume of 'articles' possible. Most of it is copied/pasted from twitter and/or taken from work other outlets have done.
    Absolute rubbish.

I love how much people want Nixon to be wrong, because I agree the man's a p***k and I hate the publication who pays him.

But he's right more often than not and often the first to give us new info.

I think it’s when the admins reckon there is no realistic prospect of the club continuing as a going concern.
i e if they conclude that there is no buyer who is willing to pay enough to clear MSD, football creditors, 25% of unsecureds and whatever HMRC settles for plus the admins costs

I think we should cling wrap him to one of those wind turbine blades near the ground.
That will give him an opportunity to think about what he's done, and we can boo him while pops over the stand roof every few minutes.

One thing puzzles me .Do we want owners that just steady the ship ? . If i remember right unders gse didnt we use to moan alot about lack of funding and buying players , everything just became stale ? . Or do you want owners with pots of money who will prob gamble and again put us in the same pickle . The problem is as time goes by fickle fans forget and posts start appearing of nigel clough type football its boring , i would sooner us have a real go and go bust bar watch this drivel .
It seems where caught on a double edged sword , hoping the fans now understand what we are in for .

Turkeys will never vote for Xmas I’m afraid. It’s been said before but until some external body steps in, takes control & regulates this  industry (it is not a sport any more) then those with a vested interest will continue to look after themselves and to hell with everyone else. Football is no longer the game I grew up loving, DCFC is in my blood so I can’t let go but in general what has become of the game disgusts me.
