Sad news ?
I never realised he was born in Birmingham.
The ECB tried to persuade him early in his career to play for England but he chose Australia.

On a more serious note his investment in the academy is likely to be a (rare) positive part of his legacy

Never thought I'd say that.

I'm trying to work out what it takes for the modern footballer to get booked for dissent - In the ManCity vs Newcastle game Dan Burn got booked for pulling someone to the ground just before a corner was taken (after already being warned what would happen if he did it again) - he then completely lost it and quite clearly told Stuart Attwell to 'duck off' at least half a dozen times and yet the ref takes no action....If refs are so weak in the face of abuse, it's not wonder that players take advantage....
Raphinha was booked for dissent in the Arsenal Leeds game earlier.
Not sure if Burn's expletives were aimed at the ref or not. At least the one I saw was at someone off camera.

Has calling them Manure ever been so appropriate , shambles of a club
Mind you, if you think Man Utd are a shambles, have a look at Leeds, currently making a complete pig's ear of it on Sky.

Kirchner funds us until stuff is sorted.
Sell what little assets we have (players) not that we will get much for them as buying clubs know we're B*ggered.
Failing that it's liquidation
Why would he fund the club? If he sees his possible ownership as an increasingly unlikely scenario (he used the word 'impasse'), he's not going to throw money at it.

But that involves, you know, going to Coventry?
It doesn't really. The stadium is well outside the city. You'd never actually have to suffer ghat much.

You are voicing a dislike of a football team because they were helped by a guy who has been dead for 50 years. You are free to hold an opinion, but it doesnt make it any less ridiculous ?.
Dead or not, he was a c***

Derby County were touring Germany giving nazi salutes just before World War 2 started. Virtually all of the largest companies in Germany today benefitted from forced labour or contributed to the war effort or contributed to the holocaust. I doubt you've managed to avoid using any of their products for your entire life.
Many British companies were also built on the backs of colonial atrocities. It seems very silly to single out Real Madrid just because they were at one point backed by a fascist dictator. Franco has been dead for almost 50 years for gods sake.
This is a football forum, so I commented on a football team. I didn't single them out.
I'm quite happy to discuss my consumption or not of Fanta on a soft drinks forum or my nonpatronage of the East India Company on a trade forum.

Come on. A long time ago. Would you not install any Neff kitchen ware because they made the concentration camp ovens to burn corpses, or refuse to wear Hugo Boss clothes because they designed and made Gestapo and SS uniforms?
Would you refuse to watch the Ghana football team because the largest tribe, the Asante, were one of the biggest slave owning and slave trading tribes. I mean where does it stop?
I don't wear Hugo Boss for that very reason. Don't know about the other stuff.
The reason Real Madrid were able to establish themselves is they had the full economic and political support of a fascist state.
