Won 3-1 away at Stoke to go 4th in the Championship, with his boring, sideways football.
I used to like his football.

What's he been doing all summer then? 😄
Of course the players are good enough, Warne chooses to play it wide and then sling in crosses if he says otherwise his memory is delusional.
My comment was logic based on the post I was responding to, not what I think is happening.

More footballers on the pitch and playing mainly a reserve team with the intensity of bath sponge.
Which would mean Warne does want to play football but the players aren't good enough.

Not sure if this is the right thread or not but anyway...........I noticed on Tuesday just gone we made 672 passes whereas we have in the othe games been around the 250 -300 mark. Is this as it seems a deliberate change of tactic or just players now implimenting more fully how Paul Warne wants to play? (He said himself that we saw how he wants his teams to play). I'm a tad confused.

In last night's post match interview he said he liked 4-2-3-1.

That was so good to see the ball mostly played on the grass, what a difference that made. I would think that the players enjoyed it more as well as the supporters. I hope the manager also enjoyed watching it.
He said in his radio derby interview that's how he wants his team to play. Glad to hear it but wonder why we haven't seen anything remotely like it.

The atmoshpere is down to the football. There is virtually nothing to cheer or get excited about. If we were consistantly playing good exciting atacking football the crowd noise would be fantastic.

I travel up from Dorset to see games now and then. Usually about half a dozen home games and when I used to be able to get tickets about the same amount of away games. Currently I can't justify the time and expense to watch this rubbish. Just not worth it. It's turgid.
I'll still watch online but even that is wearing thin. Makes me wonder that if we had say 10,000 season ticket holders and 10,000 walk ups how many would still attend at the moment.

It was clear the club was in financial difficulty before Morris decided to eventually pull the plug. Our brushing up dangerously close to FFP using dubious loopholes to get us through, delaying the publication of the accounts and relying ever more on the academy as the revenue was drying up. I also doubt that Pearce was unaware that there were potential problems lurking right around the corner. Does someone one day just randomly go 'by the way, i think we need to go into administration' because there's no more money. Whatever happened in regard to this, Pearce allowed the institution to be pushed to its financial limits so that when the plug was eventually pulled disaster erupted.
I would imagine Morris was a force of nature and not easily advised. The only option open to Pearce was possibly to resign in protest. That perhaps is the only charge I would make against him, that he could have left and didn't.
All this, from both of us, is supposition however and I'm not going to condemn him based on that.

Being a leading member of the managerial infrastructure leading to the club functionally going bust isn't enough for you?
The club went bust because the source of working capital decided to stop providing it. I doubt Pearce was able to influence that decision.

That's the million dollar question. No one is really sure. All we know is that he's been here for 10 years. He was CFO when Sam Rush was sacked for alleged financial irregularities. As CFO either he was negligent in policing what was going on, or he was complicit in what was going on. Yet he stayed in post. He was CFO/CEO throughout the MM FFP-busting glory years and eventual admin. Again he was either negligent or complicit. Yet he is still here
At the forum he was asked outright whether he thinks he could have personally done anything differently to avoid what happened with FFP/Admin and he changed the subject.
So we don't know that he did anything wrong, it's just a general feeling of something not adding up - and the fact that when questioned at a public forum he refused to address it doesn't help allay anyone's fears
It's not a witch hunt, or a vendetta - just fans who want what's best for the club. Administration was such an emotionally draining time, we all want to move forward with a clean slate. And we have that in terms of an owner, a squad and a manager. But the CEO - nope - same guy who let it all go to s**t last time. Only fair that we question that
I would imagine David Clowes has all the answers to my original question and with that information has decided to keep Pearce in position. Mel caused admin by refusing to fund the club anymore. The amortisation as used by Derby was within the original rules. As I say, what did he actually do wrong?

He was CEO at the club during its most mismanaged period in its history. I don’t care if he did Mel’s donkey work he still did it which resulted in huge penalties.
That doesnt answer the question Alram.

He's going to play his beloved 3 at the back with 2 wingbacks isn't he?

I thought the forum was a bit of a non-event really.
What exactly did Stephen Pearce do wrong at the club? Serious question.

After listening to the Derby podcast from Radio Derby is it right that nobody asked Warne or the players about the stye of play? As in not much passing, not much possession and not much control of the games? As in is it by design or ineptitude?

Why are the club not aiming for top of the league?

Our football at the moment is what you employ to get an edge if you haven't got enough footballing quality. It's the football we used to struggle against when we were good. It's Rotherham Utd. (no insult to Rotherham intended)

I'm repeating myself but those passing stats are absolutely shocking. Not many passes and only 56% accurate. Let's be honest, the players can pass the ball better than that so it's got to be the tactics they are trying to employ.
Sorry, but Im very disappointed with the management team.

Yes, the performances are the issue. Not sure the players are enjoying playing any more than some of us are enjoying watching.
Don’t be too dismayed Rosenier ball is still painful
