Like the look of that team I wonder however if Washington will be able to play the Collins role more effectivly.

I just did some research and here it is, all info includes January window aswell.

    17/18 season -

Spent 85k on Jamie proctor was the only fee. Got in 1.8 million in player sales.

signed 11 players with 5 being on loan

    19/20 season -

spent 680k on Ladapo and Trevor Clarke while getting in 4 million in player sales.

signed 15 players with 6 being loans

    21/22 season -

spent a total of 0 pounds on fees and got in 1.3 million that year with sales.

signing 9 players and 3 of them were loans.

took all figures straight from the internet without properly looking so take with a pinch of salt, but he certainly didn’t splash the cash in any promotion season.

And along with his promotions this is why he was a No.1 target for cash strapped Derby.

  3. If we stay as we are we've swapped McGoldrick for Washington. Different types of players. Not sure of Warnes thinking but I'm surprised we haven't secured a bit of pace up front. Waghorn and Sibley aren't the answer for me but who knows.... A bit worrying that we are very close to the seasons start and both Washington and Sibley haven't as yet played in a single pre-season match.

Well I don't mean to come across as churlish but........

.......how many expert football coaches does one need to figure out a training drill consisting of a few shuttle runs?

Our pe teacher at belper high used to come up with similar when he was in a hurry due to an imminent attack of the galloping trots.....🤣

    Classic mood hoovering

  5. I think hes somewhere between our U21's and the first team. Hes very close to being a good first team player but not quite there. Mind you, when he plays for the kids hes outstanding, which is just what you want to see from a young promising player. Glad he's signed, lots of potential.

  6. As by far the leading club in the division with, according to our chairman, a healthy budget, its a shame if we need to consider loaning anyone. We have professional people whos job it is to find talent from anywhere in the world for the short or long term benifit of the club. I'll wait a little longer before I start twitching but I'm very suprised we havent completed the vast majority of our business early.

And even when he wasn't playing as a fullback/wingback, we really didn't play to his strengths that often.  His best performances for Derby have pretty much all been in a team that has a lot of possession and playing off a target man (Chris Martin and Kazim-Richards). Basically doing what Bryson did for McClaren's team.  You want him making runs off intelligent strikers in the final third, not chasing lost causes because you've lumped a big diagonal ball in his vague direction.  It's no surprise his best performances last season came when he was playing in behind McGoldrick and we were actually trying to pass the ball to each other.

Its all about opinion but I think his best performances by far were at right back.
