  1. So, if my understanding is correct we are in a worse position both on and off the field than when Clough Jr was here in 2013.

    Marvellous.

Mods- can you please add the word ‘Not’ to the title of this thread. I reckon there’s three places you can put it.

We should also switch to 2 up front as neither is a target man.

Play Baldock instead of a "No.10" and get Stretton running in behind the oppo defence.

    Yes.

It would also be great to see us play off the shoulder and have some pace up front. Personally, I think we may score more goals than we were able to do last season doing this.

Completely off topic but had a weird dream last night that England had been taken over by / sold off to the Netherlands (& possibly the Danish in a coalition). None of it makes any sense of course and it's a series of vague and poorly written ramblings, but...

It started off with me watching Derby play a match on a park (we were losing, struggling to create any clear chances all game and then missed two open goals) when some military trucks drove past us all (about 2000 fans) headed past towards some local political headquarters for talks with our 'leaders'.

People started leaving the game, walking away talking about their rights to be English and talking of a resistance. They seemed prepared for all of this (maybe they'd been to a meeting with enforced NDAs?)  but I had no idea what was happening. I sensed a vague threat that if we didn't move on we'd be in danger, so I followed them to a hideaway, or various hideaways, but I ended up getting lost along the way and ended up in an attic somewhere, or maybe it was underground, I don't know.

Nothing else happens until I'm up and awake the awake the next day.

I walk out of the hideaway and literally everything has been transformed as if I'd been asleep 5 years - new buildings, signs, banners, company names altered, everything branded with the regalia of the new country (which was still in part called England).  There are parades, bands, marches etc celebrating the new country. It was all very colourful and loud, everything nice and clean.

Most people talking Dutch, it's the law now, but at this point in the dream I remember certain 'fun' activities being legal in the Netherlands so actually I was pretty cool with this whole thing.

I was still lost and couldn't understand any signs though, as were a number of other people stumbling around looking dazed and confused - I spoke to these people and they all seemed to be ushering me to a 'safe zone' (I didn't feel unsafe). I follow their instructions and end up in a modern day speakeasy, which of course was was a local Wetherspoons, it just had to be!

    ...and then I woke up.

This dream you had…is it possible you’d thought about Steve McClaren that day before you went to bed?

I don’t think I would have made the post, but I don’t think a win today would do any more than paper over the cracks. 2 wins in 18 and 11 points still is far from good enough.

Would you not agree that regardless of the situation surrounding the club, that Rooney has the tools available on the pitch to get more points than he has?

I think only just in the starting line up. The bench isn’t anywhere strong enough at present to make any necessary changes.

I don’t think Rooney going will solve our issues as the squad is still the same, and I feel uncomfortable judging him until he can get more players in.

Then Wayne brings off Morrison and brings on Joz to close the game out.

Yes, strange one. I do wonder whether this was about his metrics etc showing that he was becoming less effective/or getting tired.

Given our lack of quality and the faith WR has in Ravel, I’d be surprised if he took him off because he thought Kamil was a better option.

8 points from the last 51 available.
    1 win in 18.
Surely it’s time for him to accept this job is, understandably, too much for him and do the right thing and walk away. Install Mac until the end of the season and try to regain some kind of positive and understandable style of play.

Question is, would you have posted this if we’d hung on for the final 10 mins of added time and got the win?

There's one thing worse than being talked about darling.

    That's not being talked about.

Caper club for the world, imagine the hits a semi decent, not furloughed social media team could wring out of us!

Don’t think I’ve heard the word ‘caper’ since the late 1960s when ‘The Italian Job’ came out.

This is likely more media hacks having fun at Rooney / Derby's expense; we're such soft targets. Remember the Covid-positive clown that visited Rooney allegedly with a presentation watch to show him, which put Rooney into isolation last season?

Rooney could do with behaving with more decorum as a public figure and also be mindful of the disruption, disgrace and cost that Derby players contrived not long ago, in their stupid drunken-driving incident.

I want Rooney to succeed, but I can’t help thinking if he has aspirations to be a top manager, why doesn’t he notice that Pep, Mourinho, Klopp, Tuchal etc don’t seem to repeatedly get themselves caught up in this type of nonsense on nights out?

The problem is that I think Wayne Rooney doesn’t understand that he is Wayne Rooney.
