5/ AH also discussed the deal that EFL did with MFC to prevent the EFL being sued for failing to regulate DCFC, which paved the way for MFC action against DCFC. EFL clearly have questions to answer on their handling of that and of other previous transgressions of FFP.
If the EFL ‘cut a deal’ with MFC, they must have thought they potentially had some liability.
On that basis, the administrators should sue the EFL, for not regulating Villa and QPR properly, thus denying us a chance of Premier League football. Maybe that would speed matters up a bit!

Yep. Should he leave the valuation and marketability of the club would certainly take a hit too.

No that would give them time to twist the truth best to catch them unawares
I’m sure he knows this already. Parry just needs to know that everyone else does too.

Great work @David.
That’s the content that should be sent in an email to Rick Parry to ‘call him’ and his organisation ‘out’.

So, interested to know what food others have sneaked into stadia over the years ? I can prodley say I have never purchased any food substances from a ground in my 40 years of attendance-Some of my favourites have included the double sided sausage rolls we used to get in the 80s , savourey pancakes , with a sort of fish filling as opposed to jam, again an 80s special - maybe some yellow fish mixed with cream and herbs. But my most risky was the cheese flan - what you young people would now call keiche - it never looked the same when you opened the bag at HT as when mother shoved it in your pocket earlier that day but boy was it flavoursome.
In the 90s I got a bit more adventurous and try more healthy options such as cheese sandwiches or celery sticks - the risk of bringing in a little bowl of salt to dip the celery in was risky but was worth it when it came to sharing it round at HT with the stewardsstill enough about my exploits what about you guys ?
please don’t mention sweets I’ll do another post on this topic although I have to say the medium sized jelly based sweets of multiple flavours, with a liquid core - can’t mention the brands! have always been my favourite - and are a little more exotic from the standard fruit based jelly some of you bring in. Still no judgement here .
It’s people like you that have put the club in the dangerous financial position - millions of pounds in debt- that it finds itself in now.

At this point I'd drive to Shirebrook myself to shake Ashley's hand. If he was to buy and save our club.

Gibson is a spanner and an opportunist who is not as clever as he thinks he is.
There is no plausible claim against Derby that can win. Any claim, however spurious would need to be made against the EFL, who enforce their own rules. And, last time I checked, they had deducted points off us for breaching fair play rules.
As has been said previously, any such successful claim would cause us to go for QPR and no doubt other teams, to go after those who’d breached fair play whilst in the Championship.
The way forward with this is for Ashley or Appleby to ignore it and let Gibson decide if he really wants to take this to court.

Billy Hughes, nearly a goal every other game doesn’t even make the chart, with just 19 appearances according to Wiki in 1977. I remember being a very gutted 12 year old when he went.

Never ceases to amaze me the rapid decline in quality from the mid 70s to the end of that decade.
Good piece of work BTW.

The Gadsby/Appleby duo does raise a few eyebrows. I don't believe they have the enormous funds at hand, but we know that both have overseen the club's best positions post-Pickering.
The one thing that I'm fairly sure of is that they're coming in to settle the situation and then make a sale of a club in a better position than it currently is, whilst making some money for themselves in the process. They protect the club in the short-term and make a smart investment long-term. I doubt they're going to be the ownership to re-establish a Premier League charge, but the club could survive with them at the helm.
I think Appleby, whilst never splashing the cash, made some shrewd appointments for the club overall. I really like Glick and when you look at the trajectory of his career since his time here then you must give Appleby credit for being a smart sport-biased business man. I really think we could do a lot worse than that.
I don't think I will be head-over-heels with whoever wins out the takeover, but anything to get the club back to a stable footing again will be appreciated for sure.
Good post.
Perhaps change your handle here to ‘Ambitious-ish’?

I don’t mind who takes over- as that means the club survives in its current form, rather than becoming a so-called phoenix club called AFC Derby County with a new crap logo, playing in a pub league.

Quite surprised you think we can stay up B4.
You’re usually the pessimistic sort.
FWIW, I think it’s do-able but will go right to the last game again.

Well, look on the bright side…if Mel hadn’t been such an astute businessman imagine how much worse our situation and points deduction would have been.

The club will survive, I pretty sure about that, and you’ll be able to watch them.
Maybe take a break from social media, news sites etc. for a bit if the waiting for something to happen is affecting how you’re feeling?
