My first game as a Rams fan was in 1955 in the third division north I was 13. I bought my first season ticket in 1966 the last season of Tim Ward as manager and the first season of Kevin Hector(the King). I have never wavered in my love for Derby County, so in those 68 years I have seen the best and the worst of them. And I enjoyed last season as much as the first. And speaking of the King my wife and I have received a card from the King and Queen this morning on our 60th wedding anniversary. UTR.

Replacement for Max?

I am proud to say that i have been working with the club on these identity colours, there is going to be a lot more coming, the heritage of our club is something to celebrate, we are not just boring black and white and it is now coming back to the fore 😍🐏

I'll be honest... Don't have a clue about him. All I know is when I was a kid, I was taught you should always respect his family (for some reason)
 

If this is it today, the end of our season, the players should leave the pitch with their heads held high.
A bunch of out of contract players, came together as a team over one summer and took us to the last day with a chance to be in the play offs.
Forget any frustrations or feeling of disappointment, we cannot ignore the context around this season.
It’s been incredible.
At 4pm, if we are in the play offs, what an unbelievable achievement that would be.. 
Whilst the football may not have been as sexy as it was under McClaren in 13/14, the greatest season in recent times, in my own personal hall of fame seasons this one would rank higher thanks to David Clowes, Liam Rosenior and Paul Warne.

I think it just demonstrates how certain people high up in the food chain, the moronic archbishop who suggested this idea, has no idea what the majority of the commoners think about the monarchy. 
I'm a royalist, I respect people who aren't and I agree this is a complete misstep. This adds plenty of republican fuel on the fire. Why not focus on their charitable work and not try and promote this silly idea which nobody on either side wants.

No I had a lot of respect for the late Queen but I would never count myself as a monarchist. Charles should not be allowed to be King as his a divorcee and if anything should have been passed on to William and Kate. Even though I will be at home over the weekend I will watch absolutely nothing of the event. 

If you miss out it’s because you haven’t been to games, unlike a lot of us old uns that have travelled all around the country and certainly don’t detract from the atmosphere.

In another topic on here, Anagram talks about the cruddy lard sold on the concourse at Pride Park. Of course I know he doesn't mean bread and lard sandwiches. But I was brought up on lard and dripping on bread. I have been married 60 years this year and have never had dripping or lard in that time. I never realised that I have missed either but having read that/this post I think I have. Anyone else eaten Dripping or lard?

Don't care what league we're in. I just watch Derby and i've found this season to be one of the most fun we've had in a while. Forest on the other are watching their team play s*** football trying to avoid conceding too many and barely scoring at all - sounds grim as f*** to me
You sound like all the Forest fans who kept telling us that League 1 was the worst thing that ever happened to them and how much we'd hate it down here. Its fine down here - not sure what you're all whinging about.

I'm always staggered, reading this thread and seeing how many fans still have doubts about Warne.
In my opinion, Warne's biggest strength is his clarity of thinking and the simplicity of the message he passes on to the players. Everybody knows exactly what their job is and exactly what is expected of them, both players and staff. Players are not asked to do anything complicated or anything they aren't capable of, which is rare in today's over complicated game.
I think that this clarity will also extend to the signing of players and I'm really looking forward to seeing the quality of the players he brings in once he has a free reign in the transfer market, because you can bet that players won't be signed on reputation. He will be just as happy buying a non league striker as an international one as long as they have the right character. 
He is proving to be far better than I imagined, as I was fairly cautious about him when he came in, but I think we have a special manager here and our biggest job is going to be hanging on to him if we can't keep up with his ambitions.
