I just find myself despairing at most of the series on tv at the moment, we certainly live in an era of "quantity over quality" thx to Netflix et al. Latest example is Inside Man on BBC - the basic premise is great, the actors are top drawer but it's just utterly flawed in it's outline. For example, a vicar gets caught with an incriminating flash drive - that isn't his - so instead of just saying "it's all in hand, I am talking to the police about it" he goes and does something so far in excess of what would be reasonable. Then someone follows up on this based on nothing more than the fact she gets a blurred photo on her phone. It's just farcical, no matter how good the rest of the acting or plot is.

That is what you said.  And instead of taking the opportunity of breaking that cycle you just keep wanting to discuss the cons of what you disagree with yourself.  So when you say 'people only want to talk......', just acknowledge that you are one of those people too.  
I'll start so, one disadvantage of going green is a reduction on the amount of farmed beef and dairy we eat.  Cheeseburgers are pretty tasty as far as I'm concerned. Another disadvantage is that some sustainably grown produce may be more expensive than organic alternatives, putting pressure on those people on the lowest incomes. 
Your turn, what are some disadvantages in maintaining a high carbon emitting economy?

I guess my take is that national debt doesn't really matter when you can print your own money and therefore cutting public service spending in order to reign in the debt is a pointless exercise that just hurts the nations citizens. 15% off all departments would leave an absolute husk of a society in my opinion.

A show about how the mind works, explaining why people think they've seen ghosts for instance that goes beyond "because they're too daft to realise the mind can play tricks on them" would be more interesting to me than watching shysters like Derek Acorah using people who don't know any better as dancing bears for Kasharamadingdong to laugh at.

If ghosts were real, then the proliferation of CCTV and mobile phones over the past 20 years would mean we have oodles of great evidence. 
We don't , and so that's pretty conclusive in my view that ghosts are a psychological phenomena not a paranormal one.

When I went to the docs with anxiety, he said to me don't let anyone tell you the pain isn't real. It is real as you feel it. 
With this in my mind, I believe if your brain wants you to see ghosts, you will see them.
I haven't seen them myself, to be honest I'm glad as it would freak me out. 

From a scientific standpoint, ghosts aren’t real. There is no clear evidence of them.
But I agree with David and Alpha. 
Ghosts can be 100% real in the mind for some people. The brain is a powerful tool and each person’s brain has different capabilities.
I know a guy my age who is constantly talking to himself. But I’m convinced, in his mind, he is talking to an imaginary other person.

Huh? Made it "accessible to the masses" by making most of the sports they used to watch for free on terrestrial accessible only to those with the spare wodge to pay for it? That's the exact opposite of what they've done. It's not the people's game anymore.
Sky's money may have brought allot of benefits with regard to facilities, 24/7 availability of sports for the addicts, tasteless exhibitions of wealth and entitlement by its star players, but it's completely screwed the 'football pyramid' and for many people turned it into something they don't want to bother with anymore.

His successor will be given the ultimatum by the West to end the war immediately and Russia get all sanctions lifted swiftly. Leader can then claim to have ended economic hardship for Russia and they still get to keep Crimea but Ukraine joins the EU.
Or... Russia face a continuation of the fighting in which Ukraine, backed by the West continue the fight and re-take Crimea eventually leaving the successor and Russia up s*** creek internally and externally.
There won't be any nukes.
That's my theory anyway.
