Do think today showed if we get a striker in we should loan out Dajuane, he has all the attributes to be a very good player just needs some experience and refining. Would love him to go to a MK Dons or Notts county who play good football at the top of league 2. Any team that will guarantee him starts near the very top of league 2 would be good for him.

Mike Williamson at MK Dons has a very good record with strikers. Both Langstaff and Max Dean had not done a huge amount before working with him, although Dean was young

If the choice is League 1 strugglers or top end League 2 he’d be better off with the latter. No point sending him somewhere he’ll barely touch the ball

did think it was weird he wasn’t in the squad yesterday, also I’d imagine Salford are covering his full wages as they’ve a lot of money. Good move all round. He could definitely play at league one level though.

Been more of a wing back as of late so maybe. Has a great delivery he had 9 assists last season.

If we're offering a graham shinnie type of fee then we can call it a clean swap of players which is a fair deal

Someone on Twitter mentioned Ianis Hagi who is apparently playing with Rangers' B team and can't start any more games for them without triggering a pay rise;

Probably never in a million years but that's what this thread is about right?

Wrong thread, but bot a bad suggestion. It's rumoured to be a €600k clause based on 1 more appearance. To me that indicates he's available for around that figure.

A very creative AM who can also play on the wing. Likes to shoot, although hasn't had the best shot conversion over the past couple of seasons. A very enjoyable player to watch dribble when he's full of confidence too. Big question marks over his defensive contribution though, so unlikely to feature in a Warne side where pressing from the front is important.

Key points from Warnes interview with bbc radio derby today regarding transfers.

- Hinted at three targets regarding strikers and said that will take longer because everyone wants a striker and the same targets.

- We could have an attacking midfielder in the building in the next 48 hours. Said he just “has to meet the kid” first.

- Mentioned he has a good candidate to improve the back line that he likes.

- He sounds fed up with the goalie situation and said he’s not saying anything until the goalies in the building.

Sounds a lot more positive than the last few times he was asked about transfers. Wonder if any of our resident ITK’s know who the 10 is. Also wonder if the defender is Brendan Wiredu because he previously mentioned there wasn’t a defender he had in mind that would improve us.

Also mentioned he is getting a lot of positives signs in transfers just can’t say anything until you “smell them in your office”.

The changing goalposts and time delays really does come across as a scatter gun approach to the general recruitment

Be nice to get 3 quality, first team starters in, rather than squad players.

Intrigued as to why you think this.

I don't believe the targets have changed all that much, and I'm sure everyone would have preferred to have had the business done by now.

I like to interpret it as we're going for good targets, if there's competition for them.

Around 30- 50 different players shown round moor farm this summer suggests something ?

Suggests we're doing our research, to me.

If those numbers are accurate, and we were looking for 10-12 new signings, that would suggest 3-4 targets per signing.

PW is frustrated, and I'm sure he would have much preferred to have them all in for preseason. Was never going to happen, mind.

I heard Warne's comments today about other clubs potentially lying to players to get them in the building and he doesn't want to be making false promises. I admire the honest and it is the morally right thing to do. As a consequence, we will naturally miss out on a lot of transfer targets with this method. It's not like the good old 'Arry Redknapp approach of blowing smoke up player backsides and telling them how they'll all play lots of football. Warne's philosophy of "you're not a guaranteed starter" will not attract some higher calibre players. They want their ego massaging, they want to be told what they want to hear.

The other way to look at it is he'd be weeding out the bad apples with this approach and wants genuine people to come and play regardless.
