I’d like to see Gayle stay and play with Browne next season …he will learn a lot off of Gayle

We are certainly going to need something effective that's within a tight budget,  if we are in the ch'ship next season.

Agreed, would be good for Gayle to share some of his experience in helping develop Brown.

I’d extend Collins and Gayle’s contracts, thank Waghorn for his efforts and wish him well then try and get a new “first choice” striker in the peak mid 20s age bracket for next season regardless of league.

We’d then have “New”, Gayle, Collins, Washington and Brown as forward options next year. Retaining Gayle’s guile and skill, Collins effort and robustness, options for Brown to be involved at times, Washington might come good and I can’t see us being able to sell him and then our shiny new superstar (possibly from Scotland 🤔) is the front man of the band scoring 25 goals to help keep us in the champ 😉

Gayle is a top level player starting to wind down his career, Collins is a lower league specialist who on form is one of the best in the league.

It just happens that they are both about the same level now, and benefiting us

At least we’ll have £40 million to spend from the sale of Cashin.

Don’t forget he’s signed a new contract mate, be more like £60 million to Brighton and we’ll take that Dunk fella in return…..😉

I do miss his posts on here, hope he’s watching on from somewhere

Me too but I hear he’s the Technical Adviser for Talk Sport now.

Shame we didn't look at Taylor on loan from Luton when they were looking to get him to a League 1 club.  8 in 12 for Lincoln.  He's the one who does 100 metres in about ten seconds and made Cashin look like Wiley Coyote chasing Road Runner .  Must have been available. My suspicion is sentimentality won the day and we paid an additional loan fee for John-Jules.

Is recalling Dajaune Brown an option.

He's scoring a lot at his loan club

He’s been called up for Jamaica under 23s so he wouldn’t be available for the Northampton game.

I'm OK with him not being available for that game. He'd potentially add additional fire power.

We still have other striker options. Blackett-Taylor and waghorn.

"In the 2023–24 season, Blackett-Taylor had a productive season scoring nine goals and creating seven assists in 28 appearances across all competitions. Blackett-Taylor's performances earned praise from Charlton's manager Michael Appleton."
