Osbaldwick
These crisps are now inedible. Presumably the recipe has changed as they are now branded as seriously strong, but they taste sour and mouldy and yes the packet was in date and I have attempted a few different batches only to throw them away. I’ll have to move to prawn cocktail and nobody needs that. Feck Lineker.

EtoileSportiveDeDerby
Some say they need to be kept refrigerated, I seem to recall. Andrew3000, ThePrisoner, Mostyn6 and 1 other 2
BaaLocks
The pack I had were so strong the side of my face went numb. Apparently they call it the vinegar strokes. Boycie, Rev, Stive Pesley and 4 others 1 1
Osbaldwick
Pipers are alright, I’ll try m and s thanks. The walkers baked are an abomination, taste like the flavour has been painted onto card board, I wonder if these new fangled ‘crisps’, they aren’t crispy, have changed the manufacturing process for their normal crisps. Might start crisp rebellion and lock on to Alan Shearer.
Gee SCREAMER !!
The chicken ones are a lot stronger now as well and what happened to Beef and Onion. Replaced with Steak flavour no doubt. An epidemic like Salted Caramel. Dirty shithouses. Rev, Mostyn6, Ramslad1992 and 1 other 1

Osbaldwick
I didn’t know this was a thing, but @EtoileSportiveDeDerby mentioned it too. Thanks both. Will try it. Does this mean they go off if not refrigerated? How bizarre.
Bwash_Ram
Cheese and onion the only way to go, though you do now have to add a bit of salt as they pretty much removed all of it.
Wolfie
I remember when crisps WERE crisps. favourites of mine were Walkers S&V french fries and Seabrooks prawn cocktail where you could see the millions of real salt crystals coating every last crisp. Good old days. Ooh, that reminds me.....must take my blood pressure meds. Stive Pesley
Carl Sagan
I love vinegar. I mean *really* love it. Haven't bothered with Walkers for years, but I feel I may have to return to them having read this thread!

Nah, crisps were crisps when they had a little blue bag of salt in them that you had to add yourself, Smiths crisps, then Golden Wonder came along with their ready salted, absolute game changer. angieram

Tbh I have no idea what the result is, good or bad

Wolfie
Did anyone else try and make S&V crisps by adding vinegar to Ready Salted?. It always seemed a good idea at the time but the result was never very good. Stive Pesley, Mostyn6 and Mucker1884 1 1
Mostyn6
many Vending machines have drinks, chocolate and crisps in, and are chilled/refrigerated. People eat cold crisps without realising. Stive Pesley, ThePrisoner and Osbaldwick
