Away form needs to improve

It does feel like we have been unlucky with opposition keepers making some great saves, however given some of the clear cut chances we have had, the keeper shouldn't have been given a chance to save. There have also been some horrendous misses, Knight/ Stearman headers at Charlton and Salop spring to mind. Imagine if we had a striker like Bobby Davison or Phil Gee, we wouldn't be talking about luck.

We’re currently joint 1st in the home league table. 12 points from a possible 15.

Away league table we’re 23rd. 2 points from a possible 12.

So top of the League at home .

Hopefully we can turn the away form around and get promoted

I’m stating the obvious but what needs to change away from home .

Have we just been unlucky !

Simple, cut out stupidly careless mistakes at the back that account for most goals against, and stop shooting straight at the keeper. There is another 3 yards either side to shoot and that is if he is really fat. ?

For me it’s vital to get Knight back in midfield.
His energy is crucial going forward.
I enjoyed the game against Wycombe so much because the shape was right even though it took a while to get used to for the players.
Curtis looks a bit rusty at the moms which is understandable after injury

Was Lincoln representative of our away form or just a one off.
They won 6-3 at Bristol last Saturday.

Diamond seems a top striker

Lincoln I think was more a bad performance than anything, most of the other away matches we've not looked so bad but we've not actually got anything.

Just need to break this longstanding "not winning away" mentality - brand new squad but it still seems to stay the same.

We've won 2 home games thanks to Houraine scoring from outside the box. He hasn't done this away, so it's his fault!

Whilst good at home, bad away, has been going on for a while now, this season is totally different.

We would win the Fleetwood and Charlton game 9 times out if 10 and we struggled to turn our dominance vs Shrewsbury into chances. Lincoln was a bad day at the office. Our away performances have probably deserved 5-7 points based on how the games went.

At home, our points have probably exceeded the way we played. All 4 teams we defeated could probably make a case for deserving a point at least. Our big crowd and support has probably helped us get over the line too.

So in summary, not much difference in performances. Just had a bit more luck/confidence at home where things haven't quite gone for us away.
