Good going forward, lots of energy, should have scored with header. Cashin -6. Steady as ever. Stearman -6. Does the simple things well. Almost caught out but got awarded a FK. Lucky. Fozzy - 7. Good performance. Crossing always a danger. Hourihane - 6. Not his day today. Couple of decent chances fluffed. Bird - 6. Doesn’t score (or look like scoring) Doesn’t assist (or look like assisting.) Should not be captain. NML- 8. Pace, Power and direct. Frightens defenders to death. MOTM. Barkhuizen - 6. Needs to find a end product. Dobbin - 7. Lively, direct. Unlucky not to score or assist in first half. Going to be a player this season. Collins - 6. Simply needs a goal. Nothing coming off for him. Sibley -7. Excellent cameo. Cashin 7 - another solid performance Forsyth 7 - got forward, delivered some excellent crosses Bird 6 - think I give him 6 every week. Does his job but needs to do more Hourihane 7 - busy, got in good positions, pity he couldnt bury a 30 yarder Mendez-Laing 8 - had a dip last time out, looked a real threat again vs Fleetwood Barkhuizen 6 - got talent when hes on it but quiet and ineffective for long periods Collins 6 - puts himself about, probably could lurk nearer the 6yd box more, great turn and shot top corner save by keeper Dobbin 7 - fast n furious! Gonna be a threat now hes up to speed SUBS: Sibley 7 - unfortunately getting tagged as a super sub, made an impact again when he came on McGoldrick 6 - expecting more, hopefully will come with more game time How did we not win this? Back to front we're looking really solid, a couple of extra goals recently and we could have easily been 3rd on goal difference. MOre attacking line up and it showed, just need the breaks now. We received 16 sets of scores this week which is below par & compares with 33 V Barnsley, 26 V Oxford Utd, 25 V Shrewsbury Town, 15 v Charlton and 9 v Mansfield. Summary The infographic is below. You rated Mendez-Laing as {statistical} MotM with an average of 7.35. Next highest was Knight with 7.23. The average rating was 6.76 with 8 players above the Team Average and 5 below it. The red dotted line shows the cut-off. A trend is starting to emerge with Collins, Barkheuizen, & Hourihane tending to be consistently below the average. At the opposite end, Mendez-Laing, Knight, Cashin and Sibley tend to be consistently the highest. Early days yet still. Interesting to note that highest rates this match are given to players who have been at Derby more than a season - except for Mendez- Laing. Probably not a bias just a reflection of performance. Average Team Aggregate rating was 87.9; Milleniumram got the "Tony Hatch" award for being 7.9 points lower than this. Lowest rating was awarded by thekingofbuxton with Collins rated at 4.00. I'm dying to get a "season to date" analysis posted; it may be tonight although as I've been working today since 8 am and it's now almost 8pm I may not manage it. I feel Collins and Barkhuizen are working really hard but things aren't quite coming off for them. Hourihane for me is coasting a bit, very casual at times on the ball. I expected more from him, most room for improvement, imo. You'll probably get less ratings at away matches as fewer of us were actually there. Good work, though thank you.
