Half a dozen decisions in a row that should have been for Derby but the ref gave them the other way. Maddening they can be so incompetent. Mendez-Laing has a weird tendency never to pass to Sibley. It's quite striking. Just then he missed the the opportunity for a simple ball to slip Sibbs in and tried a silly extravagant cross field pass instead. The first goal came out of nothing and then Barnsley had a 10-minute spell where they looked quite dangerous. But our second goal just showed the level. Hourihane’s passing is too good for this league. Great turn of pace and composure from Barkhuizen, and a decent finish from NML. We were better after the drinks break. Cashin has been sublime. Bit of both from what I've watched. Roberts and Bird have been caught in possession a couple of times but Barnsley have caused us a few issues with long balls over the top, usually on Stearman's side. They look like they're happy to leave our centre backs with the ball, but the second it's played out wide to Roberts or Knight, or into Bird's feet they start their press. We’re creating chances to create chances and squandering them because it’s not clicking - passes being played into empty channels, players being in space and ignored, crossing to the wrong post etc. We can be better than this - if it clicks.
