I’m still hopeful that Mel will facilitate a sale with a good deal on the stadium as it’s not in his interest for DCFC to be liquidated either, then again, we all trusted him to abide by FFP, not cripple the club with debt, or to not offer the club to chancers or to not put the club in administration.

100% correct!

Mel obviously is the person who's been doing us over the bonnet of a Ford Cortina in some country lay-by. And we loved every moment of it at the time.

I suspect he's turned up to the restaurant wearing a fake Armani suit and ordered some of the best champagne in there, just so we'd drop our panties. He's now finished, pulled up his trousers and jumped back in the Cortina and scarpered, leaving us feeling a bit used and dirty, and looking for someone to pick us up from that lay-by and take us home. Oh yes, and when he ordered the wines he'd left his wallet in his other jacket, so we've stepped in and paid. We're in Cash Converters in the morning pawning the fridge freezer to cover the costs.

Yep, good analogy

All the EFL has to say is

We are the governing body of this competition. We make the rules of the competition and enforce those rules according to our written procedures

This is agreed by all participants prior to competing.

Derby broke the rules and were given sanctions for those offences according to our rules and procedures. The timing of those sanctions was, again, in accordance with those rules and procedures.

The claims by WW and MBC are entirely invalid.

Nope “the claims by WW and MBC are beyond our remit.”

Kirchner laving due to frustrations with the process, Rooney is starting to air his grievances and now we've got the Binnies looking like they may pull out. At what point do we actually start putting some pressure on the administrators to outline a definitive timeline of when we can get these parasites to the table and a solid approximation of how long the process will take.

While I saw in the DET yesterday that Villa were interested in taking Kellyman from our academy I had not seen that a deal had been completed but I could have missed it. The Athletic are now reporting that the deal was completed yesterday:

Rooney believed Plange’s deadline day transfer and loan back from Crystal Palace would be the last of the sales. However, exciting academy product Omari Kellyman left for a fee in the region of £500,000 to Aston Villa on the morning of the Huddersfield match. Rooney said, “He’s a local lad from Derby. He didn’t want to leave the club.”

“It’s a tough one for me and the staff to take.”

Derby have had to sell on some of the academies’ brightest talents this month, with Dylan Williams joining Chelsea. There is sadness within the club that the brilliant work the academy has done in producing these players will not be seen at Derby. Still, the priority on the field is ensuring Derby have the tools to be competitive.

The 2-0 defeat away to Huddersfield proved the deficiencies in squad depth but entering February with most of the core remaining gives Derby a fighting chance.
