Fantastic comeback, great second half. Hopefully we use this as a springboard for the run in. Stick to 3 at the back. Although Mengi’s passing was a bit dodge his and Wisdoms pace allows us to squeeze the play. Shinnie and Knight can do the dirty work. Give Sibley, Roberts, Lawrence, CKR/Roberts players to play off. We’ll be a threat. What a difference it makes to have footballers on the pitch who pass, move, link up etc. Can’t wait for Stoke and Joz and Knight out wide and Waghorn up top!

How poor does Jozwiak look after those performances from Sibley and Roberts tonight, and Roberts only had 5 minutes!

Absolute baalocks.

Jozwiak had a decent first half in a mess of a team despite nobody to play with, nobody to aim for.

Roberts came on with the opposition on the ropes and was surrounded by other attacking players - lots of support around him  in Byrne & Sibley, giving him the opportunity to play a pass that hasn't even been available for Jozwiak pretty much all season due to our aversion to play more than one creative player at a time.

It was hardly laid on a plate for Sibley to tap in either, the goal was more about Sibley's strike than the pass.

This result I honestly feels paper over increasingly wide cracks and if we don't start learning the lessons of the last few weeks we are going to sink further into the mire.

Always read your posts carefully, and learn from them. But this draw doesn’t ‘paper over the cracks’. The second half shows we can hold our own against anyone, we just need selection and formation to be better. First half was an aberration sorry abomination

Not taking anything away from Sibley's finish but the movement, vision and touch from Roberts gave him the opportunity.

He frustrates in equal measures but but you feel he is much more likely to create something than Jozwiak at the moment.

Right ffs let’s learn from tonight , 3 5 2 ,,, shinnie and knight have the role of covering the ground ,covering ,winning the ball then giving it to the attacking players who we NOW put in the side and tell them to ATTACK, our wing backs can ATTACK with 3 at the back , knight and shinnie covering ,, put a rocket up the backsides at the start and tell them to play at high tempo going for opponents throats , no more worrying about opponents strengths , play to ours ,

how can you not love Sibley , the boy is a ram and by duck a very talented ram , one of those players you pay the entrance fee to watch

Not personally I don't, no.

I think if Jozwiak and Roberts had swapped bodies before the game there's a good chance we'd have seen almost exactly the same thing pan out.

Roberts is a little bit more agile than Jozwiak but that's about it on his showings so far.

Mt objection was (as it often is) the need to slag off one person to praise another without really thinking it through, there's just no need.

One point in Joz’ favour is he links pretty well w Byrne.

I'm not sure what you think I haven't thought through. Jozwiak's season stats are horrific, Roberts provided an assist within 3 minutes of being on the pitch.

I'm not sure "swapping bodies" is a valid argument?!

Dead right ... Sibbo could have done all sorts with that pass but he did the unpredictable.. turned against the natural movement of play, where his and every other body was moving. The goalie was wrong footed before he even teed it up never mind hit it. Very clever play. Sweet

Well done Derby & yes, well done Wayne Rooney (in the end)

Horrible first half obviously. No idea what the thinking was putting Knight at number 10 or Watson out on the left wing when his promising cameos have all been through the middle. We then compounded that by starting very sluggishly, conceding early & showing nothing on the ball in the face of Brentford's relentless chasing - frankly we looked utterly shambolic after 30 mins. They seemed to be cutting through us with every attack and I'm pretty grateful we were only 0-2 down at half time.

Changes had to be made & Rooney absolutely made the right calls. Much though I like him, Bird was struggling horribly against their intense press & Watson was anonymous - on came Gregory to start to disrupt their back line & give us another outlet up there and Sibley, no doubt with a point to prove after Saturday's comments. Tactically this started to make sense as Knight could retreat to the one role in the side he does well & Mengi's introduction allowed Byrne & Buchanan to get up the pitch and start forcing back their wide men.

Much better intensity from the off also & the early goal was key to maintaining that. Thereafter you could see the belief start to return - Gregory arguably could have had another couple particularly the chance from Kazim's fantastic ball over the top & we started to move the ball with purpose. Knight and Shinnie improved markedly and Sibley started finding little pockets of space to take possession & drive at them. That said, I did think they had weathered the storm but up stepped Sibley with a piece of absolute genius to grab the point - great play from Roberts to find him in such close quarters too.

Suspect the team will get a massive morale boost out of tonight - coming back from two down, coming back against such a good opponent, scoring twice & all our relegation rivals losing. Sets us up nicely for coming games. COYR

Nice little draw between Wendies and Uddersfield tomorrow would be useful for us.

Really hope we stick with three at the back now. I like the look of Mengi, we have Edmundson as an option and Wisdom just looks safer in a three. It means one of the defenders can step up and create space and stop us looking so desperately lateral. And Byrne is a good full back but a superb wing back. He's got to be one of the best value signings for years.
