Ghost of Clough
JBrown in the bench ? The academy announced ‘A Brown’ and ‘Brown’ in the U23 squad. Was that an error or have we signed another Brown?
Andicis
Looks like a 4-2-3-1 to me, with Wisdom, MTW, Clarke, Fozzy, shielded by Shinnie and Bird. Excited that Whittaker has got the chance to prove himself, and happy to see Rooney back on the bench.
Chester40
Probably as good as we can offer. Strongest team will look very different. 0-0 a distinct possibility.
Ghost of Clough
Disappointed Buchanan isn’t starting, and I expected Rooney to start if fit enough to be in the squad. Looks like 4231. Can’t really argue with it to be honest

sage
That side would finish bottom six if played all season. Obviously Byrne, Waghorn, Rooney, Lawrence, Holmes and any signings to come into this. 0-0 seems a good bet

Jimbo Ram
The front 4 just looks a bit too lightweight to me. Not sure who will create anything.....
IslandExile
More or less the best team he could select given injuries.... More time for Byrne to settle in. I'd have Buchanan instead of Forsyth but given the inexperience further forward, it's an understandable call.
Jourdan
It's a shame that Byrne is not ready to start. Perhaps he'll get a cameo around 65 minutes in. Otherwise I think it's the line up many expected. Agree with the sentiment that today is a big day for Whittaker. It'd be a boost for everyone if he has a big game, especially as it might ease the pressure on us to bring in new signings.
Andrew3000
Cautious Cocu again with full backs. Understandable but doesn't excite. Option for Buchanan and Byrne to add attacking impetus later in game. Glad Whittaker starts. Apart from that no issues really, what choice does he have? So makes sense. Wouldn't be surprised to see him get a run out on Tuesday night. Back 4 looks good. Midfield ok. Think Knight and Whittaker are in purely because we have nobody else.
