You were right. It's dreck. The script is one cliche after another and the woman playing the detective can't be an actual actress.

Looking at her my first thought was that she normally performed in ‘specialist’ films….

The whole thing has the feel of a student or school film - but I suspect that students would be embarrassed to produce such poor quality.

Monkey Man

I was very tired so struggled to connect as much as I should ...but it's a film a lot of people on here are going to like.

@Comrade 86you suggested Sisu, it felt similar but errrrrr.. different to that!

Immersed in a very different culture, a slightly unlikely hero, really gritty brutal action scenes.

I looked her up. Turns out she's the wife of the writer / producer of the film.

Bullet Train has been added to Netflix.

Action/comedy with a few big names like Brad Pitt and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Multiple assassins all find themselves on a bullet train unknowingly having the same mission.

It's an enjoyable watch and one to not take too seriously.

7.5/10

I didn't want to watch that, but Mrs Badger did. So we compromised and watched it about a year or so ago.

I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I too would give it a 7.5/10 if I didn't want to get castrated by @maxjam,, so instead, I will opt for a Gary Micklewhite/10

Netflix...where the Crawdads sing, About an abusive Father who beats his wife and kids while living in the marshes of South Carolina, When one by one Mum and kids leave, Leaving only 1 Daughter left with the Dad...Kya.

Not my cup o tea...but kept watching, Kya must have been around 10 when Dad decides to leave leaving Kya alone, The story then revolves around her and men and social services and a murder.

A little strange but I thought it got better as the film moved along...7-10

Tried to watch it the other week, with semi-high expectations after hearing good things. I had to switch off. Thought the attempts at comedy were awful, and the American actor’s British accent was unbearable.

Meant to mention this one.  Goes a bit over John Wick but entertaining

Seize Them: comedy set in the Middle Ages based on a queen fleeing a mob who have overthrown her. Has Nick Frost, Jessica Haynes, James Acaster and the girl from Derry Girls. With that cast I was expecting something but got nothing. Not one single laugh. Whoever was casting director we need to sign them up as scout as they seem to have some special ability to convince talented individuals to commit to causes of no possible good outcome..

Atlas.

Jennifer Lopez Sci fi thing.

You can spot the, er, 'influences' - Aliens, Avatar, Blade Runner etc. and there's a bit of Bond villain about the antagonist (I think he even says, 'I've been expecting you,' at one point). But it provided enough diversion more or less.

Wanted it to be better.

Lee Morris / 10.

Zodiac

Seen it quite a few times but it's always a great watch. Film making of the highest order. Unbelievable attention to detail, great acting,  lots of little storylines that keep intersecting.

It about the hunt for the Zodiac killer, but its really long and covers an extended period of time and you really feel that change of time, yet somehow relaying it back it also feels like not much happens.

If you like the first series of True Detective this is one for you.

"The Last Bus" (2020). BBC iPlayer. Timothy Spall plays an old man who takes a sentimental journey from John O'Groats to Lands End. Despite a few clunky parts, it's a touching story with Spall playing the part well. Tommy Smith/7

We're doing them out of 7 now? @Mostyn6 is not going to like this one bit.

Spencer Confidential...Netflix with Mark Wahlberg in the lead role, Honest Boston cop sent to prison for attacking his boss, Comes out to get revenge....shoot em up and beat em up.

One sex scene in the gents toilet...20seconds...tops...and it's over...the only 2 t!ts on show were Wahlberg and the female.

4-10
