Posh have identified some talent over the years, bought cheap and sold well with good add ons. Kudos to them. 2 mil is a snip, Posh do tend to make more money from significant sell ons such as Assombalonga, Mackail-Smith, Gayle, Washington etc as well. All that aside another positive signing, young, hungry and willing to prove himself.

Maybe it is their coaches we should be signing then?

Looks like we could end up getting Marriott and Waghorn for about £6m . . .

Unbelievable bit of business if true!

Truly unbelievable as we were paying £13m plus last night.  Perhaps we should give it another day and then we will have Marcus and Darragh agreeing to deals that only involve a pre-season friendly and a few tracksuits.

What a weird thing to do. Confirm a bid has been agreed, but we now need to agree personal terms.

Clearly a tactical move. What's the reasoning behind putting that statement out?

Just getting in before the posh chairman.

Probably with news coming out about how small the fee is Derby want to put other teams off from making a late bid. You never know though, Roma made a similar announcement with Malcom and he'd agreed a contract with them, so it's still not fully sorted for us and Marriott

We have already been in discussions with his agent about wages according to their chairman so can't see the personal terms taking long to be agreed, he is going to be on much more than he has ever been before so wouldn't imagine he will be playing hardball in negotiations.

I think the main hold up will be that Lampard is at our match tonight not in Derby for the interviews etc so will be done in the morning.

Suspect it's because fans are impatient. The world and his wife know something is going on and most of the medical team and Frank etc will be at coventry tonight. Deal will be done tomorrow and so this is just a placeholder to prevent meltdown.

Remember that the DMac pretty much said he knew what he was going to be agreeing to salary wise.
