This is my first post on this forum, but with Daniel’s passing I wanted to mark this wonderful man’s contribution to Rams and this forum. He was a truly inspiring gentleman who we should all learn from. His positivity was legendary as well his generosity and gentility. The last few years of aggressiveness between contributors has been depressing and B4’s positivity has shone out like a beacon to unite us all.

over the years I have always enjoyed the cohort of writers on this forum who have  defended Daniel from the various idiots who have not understood his positive outlook on life. I am deeply sad that B4 is no longer with us. My heart goes out to his family, I can’t imagine what they are going through. The outburst of support on this forum is hopefully a consolation for the love that Rams fans had for him. I never met Daniel but his heart felt passion touched, me liked many on this forum. His passion during the darkest hours made me believe. The main part of his belief has left me believing that we are lucky with what we have, and we should support our club. Yes I know that there are issues with the management but we must remember that we were seven days from destruction. B4 would be reminding us now that we are lucky and to get behind the team rather than bickering. He was a wonderful man and I feel privileged to have shared his outlook on our great team.

I know it sounds a bit unusual but I think we should celebrate B4 with a statue outside Pride Park. There are few truly great fans and Daniel is a great man to celebrate as a Rams fan. I hope we get promoted this year as a tribute to this wonderful man. RIP Daniel, and thanks for all your wonderful posts

The captain debate is a boring one, an armband doesn't make you shout, scream, organise or anything any differently than you would anyway. If you're a leader, if you're vocal, then that's what you do regardless. Now it's certainly possible that we don't really have that type of player in the squad, other than maybe Bradley who can't really play football anymore.
There is a debate that the main problem in the team right now is not even James Collins anymore, it's the insistence on playing Korey Smith and Conor Hourihane together. Neither of them have the legs anymore, they don't cover enough ground, they don't close down with any intent, when they're bypassed they can't get back, they don't move off the ball to make angles for passes... At the moment, Hourihane is in the team as he's slightly more creative, particularly from dead balls, but I have zero idea why Smith is as well when Fornah is sat on the bench. It makes literally no sense. Until we stop this, we will have these inconsistent dud performances where teams with more athleticism and stamina outwork us.

I never had the pleasure and privelege of meeting this remarkable young man. I enjoyed reading his posts and admired his loyalty to all thing Derby County! He wasn’t even born in the glory years of Cloughie and Taylor yet his enthusiasm put many of us old PopSiders to shame.
He was genuinely loved and respected by all of us on DCFCfans and the many testimonials on here are proof of this.
My condolences and sincere good wishes at this sad time to David and family.
Thank you for the brightness and warmth which Daniel, B4, gave us in often dark and sometimes cheerless times!

Weston deserves a place on the bench Saturday.
A few of them do, but can't accommodate all.
Weston scored, could have had at least 1 more and did not look fazed. He looks a bit like Liam Thompson but perhaps with more end product.

Well, I finally chucked my toys out after the Stevenage debacle and joined the Warne Out brigade, but I'll get behind the lads AND the manager again tomorrow night.
Results will tell the tale of how it pans out. If we'remid-table at Christmas I don't see how it's remotely tenable to carry on. If we look like going backwards from last season in league position it'll be the worst season in our history. No coming back from that, stability or no stability.

Well, what a shitshow that was from us. I don’t know what’s happened to us but we were awful from minute 1 to minute 95. I thought you looked like a side low on confidence but who actually played quite well, you pressed us well and had done your homework to know that’s all you need to do. The personality we showed at the start of the season has disappeared, we’re in real trouble and should have lost by more.
Was impressed with your fans, after Shrewsbury I thought you might have been more negative but the South Stand were positive throughout, lots of supportive chants. You were a bit quiet considering you were 2-0 up, but that’s understandable after recent results. I also thought the ref was excellent.
No bright spots for us City fans I’m afraid, other than Demi Mitchell who will leave in January no doubt. A mini-slump has quickly turned into a relegation battle and none of us can work out why. We’re capable of being much better than last night but you wouldn’t think that. Calling us poor, inept and crap is actually kind, we were worse than that.
Anyway, good luck for the season, hope you go up. Despite singing ‘How s*** must you be, you’re still in league one’ last night, I hope you get promoted, your club is better than this.

other than the forwards,i dont think we have a bad squad, the back five i would say are the best in the league by far,the midfield,if allowed to play must be up there too,but when you play the slowest strikers in the league and tell them to play more in your own penalty box than the oppositions, there is no outlet and we are under siege.no team can hold out under such bombardment, we are going to concede at some point.we simply have to leave somebody up top for an outlet and stop all the opposition going forward

Sorry for the long post, I don’t post a lot but felt the need to add my feelings to this debate.
I have been patient and many of the group I go to home games with called Warne out a long time ago, one or two didn’t want him when he was appointed and saw him as a huge step down from Rosenior. I wanted Warne ahead of Rosenior to get out of League One whereas others were looking at the development of the club as a whole.
initially Warne looked a good appointment to me, we started to score, and win, away, went on a good run and even briefly looked like we could trouble the top two. But we fell away disappointingly at the end and not to make the play offs was poor.
I wanted to give Warne, and Clowes, time and let Warne build his own team. The anti Warnes in our group see his recruitment as terrible and our best players as the players that were here before Warne arrived. I think some of that is harsh, I like Nelson, Nyambe, Wilson and Fornah and can see why he signed Bradley and Ward.
But his big issue, as he talks about himself endlessly, is scoring goals. He said this week that the top teams in League One have the best strikers. He talks about improving our finishing. This is where his words and actions don’t match for me. Clearly our results last season were built on McGoldrick’s goals. He hasn’t been replaced. Warne has signed Washington and Waghorn. Neither are going to score enough goals for me. Collins has already proved he won’t. John-Jules is injured and unproven. We are unlikely to be able to solve this in January.
In my view Warne sets up the game randomly with chances at both ends, therefore it is unsurprising to me, with this squad, that our results are mixed. We will get good and bad results on small margins, something Warne says a lot himself. Doing this he will only succeed with one of the best strikers in League One and this season we don’t have one.
In conclusion, and I hate to do it, I too am joining the Warne out brigade. I have despaired at our changing managers far too regularly in recent years and wanted to give Warne as long as he needed to get it right. But we are in League One. Our worst ever seasons are 7th in the third tier, twice, one was last season. We’re currently looking like we’re not getting promotion, certainly not automatically.
My choice now would be a manager who can organise this squad into a team that can defend properly, control games and get clean sheets. We aren’t going to score a hatful of goals consistently so I believe this is our best chance of promotion this season.
I really hope the fans don’t turn on Clowes, he has lots of credit in the bank for me and is allowed to make a mistake without getting vilified for it. I just hope he sees the current issues early enough so we can still have a shot at promotion this season as the league looks weak to me and it may be our best opportunity to get out of it for some years.

Collins is like many others in the squad. He has strengths and weaknesses.
His strength is effort and teamwork.
His weakness is awareness, discipline and technique.
The three don’t necessarily outweigh the two.
He’s frustrating because one imagines that any forward’s natural desire is to score goals yet he doesn’t get his body in the right positions to do so.
Any self-respecting Derby fan should want him to do well.
I joke about him but I love it when he proves me wrong.

Remember in 1966 when working in Manchester, a  Bolton fan who had watched Franny playing for them since he was 17 years old said he was destined to go to the very top of the game  - how right he was!
Superb for us over two seasons, and will be ever greatful for the free tickets  he gave us outside the ground in Geneva in 1974 for the away UEFA cup tie against Servette , against who he scored in both legs of the tie.
Thanks for the memories Franny, and RIP.

We still know little as yet about David Clowes decision making, but even a Warne botherer like me can see his reasons for going for him. He did have a CV with evidence to support he could get out of this league, and by all accounts he is a good ‘club man’. I recall Clowes put a lot of emphasis on researching him and admiring his man management skills, and whilst I would have kept Rosenior, again there was logic for sweeping the decks completely clean, and bringing in a new person to lift the general mood. Not sure that all merited a 4 year contract, but perhaps there are performance benchmark clauses in there covering years 3 and 4? Anyway, the point I am making is we might know more about Clowes decision making in the months ahead. I think his breath will already be on Warne’s back, because as a owner and a fan he will know there is not a good feel out there at the moment. Warne needs to start getting some results that’s the bottom line. He has in my opinion a squad that should finish in the top two this season. He needs to stop talking the talk, and provide evidence of his walking the walk.

After the Charlton away game last season where we should've won and somehow lost I went to work on the sunday and my work colleague whos a Charlton STH showed me the text he'd sent his mate who couldn't go.
His mate asked how the game was going and my work colleague's reply was," we are being torn a new one here and they will be the best team we'll face this season "
we lost 0-1 but what was evident was our passing and movement and switching of play was very good but we missed chances and that went on for a few games more but, I still firmly believe in time we would've clicked and possibly gone up , also I think Rosenior would've brought in some new recruits in the jan window to give us a boost.
Rosenior has gone and its really not worth comparing PW and LR but i really do think PW was brought in purely on his record in this division and no more, it certainly wasn't a continuation of what LR had started
I spoke to a chap who was part of the assessment team when Rosenior was doing his coaching badges and I said to him I really wasn't sure on Liam even when he was helping Rooney, ( he was assistant at the time ) yet what he told me shocked me a bit , he said that Liam was one of the brightest most inivative young coaches he'd come across and said he really hoped he had a succesful career whether as a coach or a manager also said he would in his opinion go onto be a good manager
He's gone and is history now but lets please get a manager in who's going to get us playing actual football not the dross we are currently witnessing, I really do think Mr Clowes as a fan will not be too happy either with what hes seeing as hes a fan as well lets not forget
