Reggie Greenwood reacted to BaaLocks in Tony Springett - signed from Norwich, loan to end of season
Mate of mine has a lad who is in the Norwich academy and so I asked him what he thought of Tony Springett. This is what he said:
"Really really nice lad and gonna be a super player. Been at Norwich since he was 11, debuted in Prem last season. Tricky, skilful winger - delivers. But what you will all love about him is his work rate. Absolutely tireless. Going to the top that kid. Really is. No airs and graces. Not a diver. Gets kicked all the time and just gets back up."
Also, will be mates with Cashin as they both play for Ireland.

Well Hourihane is usually in the starting X1 so presumably our coaches rate him, even if he is a scapegoat
    for many on here.

I don't know if this deserves its own post but I'm super proud that my eldest (16 year old) godson has recently been playing for Ipswich u21&u23's, with the paperwork going through on a 2 year deal.

He was involved with the u23 training on Thursday/Friday and was asked (along with 10 others) to stay behind to play a game with first team, of which was mixed teams.
Henry Partnered Richard Keogh at cb at the age of 16. I'm absolutely over the moon that I've watched him grow and play to the point he is now involved with partnering an ex Derby captain, amazing stuff.

Keep an eye out for him, Henry Curtis. His paperwork is currently going through and hes playing Swansea this weekend. I've already told him if he ever gets the call to play for Derby, he has to. No ifs or buts.

A good egg as a person according to my carrot crunching mate. No moaning supports the squad. Career seems to have been on the decline hopefully a bit left in the tank at L1 level. Choice between relegation fight in the Champ or pushing for promotion in L1. Would give Collins some competition.

Think the “oldtimers “ is catching up with you @DavesaRam. It was the Arsenal 5-0 win in 1973 the spurs one was 1969 ?

Really liked his interview. Very positive and clear in his thinking and seems very much up for the challenge ahead. Seems a bright lad too.
    Welcome to Derby Tony!

Couldnt move in the packed baseball ground. Dosnt it hold the record for a derby match at home. Can always remember the excitment of seeing the great Greavsie play.

Yes the Spurs 5-0 drubbing in 1969 is the record crowd for as DCFC home game. Unfortunately, Les Green broke Greaves heart, making a save and holding onto the ball after it had gone past him: remarkable !

Add the Greyhound, Babbingtons, Standing Order, Mr Grundy's, Furnace and Five Lamps.
Haven't been in the Last Post, Little Chester Ale House or the Old Bell recently, but they were all decent last time I went in.
The Dolphin was always a good place for Bass and real ale generally, but I've had reports of variable quality recently though I haven't been in myself since about September.

Coopers Tavern. Straight from the barrel in the bar, rather through pipes & a pump. It comes out with no head on or having to wait for it to settle.

Reggie Greenwood reacted to MadAmster in Comparison with 1985/86 Div 3 promotion season - game by game
If we go on the premise that all teams at the top will win any games in hand they have (ours is Cheltenham at PP) and that we beat Ipswich at PP and win away at Plymouth and Wendy, we'd be just the 1 point behind Ipswich and 5 behind Wendy and the Gargoyles. A lot of ifs but top 2 isn't necessarily as far away as it might appear.
Can we bridge the gap? Yes. Will we? Hopefully but nobody knows which is why the game is so interesting.

Booo, your balanced and well informed post has made me feel bad for calling them a rude word now!
Seems it is a sensible step on their part, they have to look after their own fans and interests first as we would expect our club to do for us.
I do like the idea of it being used as a motivator by Warne, I want to keep this momentum and if it coincides with us beating Wycombe comfortably at their home ground then that’s a bonus

I just asked a Norwich fan about him and his answer
"Hugill is an absolute monster and great in the dressing room, just gutted Norwich never really gave him a chance. Reading are interested and he is definitely a championship standard player, so of Derby did get him it would be some signing"

Bulking up didn’t do much to help Miles Addison’s career as I recall . Much better to let their bodies settle and then strengthen as you say

    love you to mate x
we have got a great club and we have a few years whilst we are on this earth to keep it going, look to the future but always remember where we came from, we can all unite behind DCFC and let it distract us from the way this world is changing.
