'The discrepancy between two metrics shows why the one I agree with is right', great argument there.
If you like.
I should add in my defence that I'm swayed towards preferring points return over xG because that's what they use to construct the actual league table with.
Seems more important to me somehow, but you do you brother.

1 point from 9 for Posh?
If we went on that run it'd be Warne Out, board out, tits out on here.
Lots of slips, twists and turns to come.

CBT to play wing for NML to let him heal up.
Nyambe for Ward for muscle.
Wilson in for Bradley to balance the front 3.
Done. Same midfield and keep Sibbers at LB for attacking thrust.

Feel like we could go 433 at home. Get CBT in, stick with the midfield.

We did the right thing here, If, IF, we go up he’ll likely join, Wednesday will almost certainly be in league 1 again and find the position much weaker.
Still a concern that we never entertain signing younger talent. I’m hoping we’re going to do that from day 1, when back in the championship.
I feel like if we go up we'll set our sights higher.

I don't think it's too soon to declare Ebou Adams as the best midfielder in the country and will single handedly ensure our promotion.
I thought similar about Fornah after Blackpool away. This time it's true though.

Top, top, 1-0 away win.
Into the top 2. Gutsy, threatening when we got at them, solid at the back.
Adams looks a magnificent addition.
Collo didn't get booked.
Sibbers looking increasingly like a proper left sided defender.
Bird the most dangerous midfielder on the pitch.
If NML isn't too badly hurt I'm calling that a brilliant Saturday.
COYR.

Victims of the business plan in this window.
We clearly had targets but couldn't pursue them, or got outbid until we had outgoings. Just our luck that an offer comes in at the 11th hour and we seemingly have no time to do anything with the £££ and most, if not all, of our identified targets have already moved somewhere.
I'm guessing, had Bristol's offer for Bird come in earlier in the window things would have looked considerably different/rosier.
Do we ever get any ****ing luck in transfer windows? 🙄
The Bird offer will have been bubbling on for weeks.

Best midfielder at the club. Leaving as won't sign a new contract. Good fee. Keep the player for the rest of the season.
He came through the ranks, stood by us when we were on our arse, does his best, good egg arond the place, getting a bigger wage in a higher division, club doesn't lose out.
Max Bird comes out well, Derby County come out well.
Moaners, please shush. I'm embarrassed by you.

Chin up ya miserable buggers. Top two by easter.

We are where we are folks. We must have a striker in to cover us for a month or two.
Not a sexy signing, but a grafting pro with a goal in him.

Think the discussion has gone awry tbh, partly because of the way things have been worded, and partly because you're more interested in using the way something is worded to steer the argument in your favour, than using common sense to figure out what was actually meant.
The insinuation, and what I suspect most people could gather from what was posted, isn't that he's not interested in any aspect of the midfield just the defensive side of things, so whatever he's said about one of our attacking midfielders is beside the point.
When you watch us play, do you think we look like a team where due care and attention has been given to the balance in midfield?
It seems to me that most people believe it to be a problem area for us and even those in support of Warne generally don't quite understand or don't agree with the way we set up in that central area.
If what you say is right, the sensible move from Roy would have been to clarify up front, rather than chuck in another 3 or 4 posts defending the literal meaning of the words he typed, only to subsequently change tack.
I reiterate, the man made himself look silly.
In other news, the two in midfield has looked wide open too often in recent weeks. Warne knows this as well as we do.

Lol. But you said..."When have I disagreed with you?"
Nevermind ay.
RoyMac5, your agenda is fine by me. Tedious how often you express it, to be honest, but if that's the way you feel good for you.
You've made yourself look a proper bellsniff with this episode though. Paul Warne has not ever said what you claimed, and circling round that fact trying to score points is just silly. Own it man!

Hourihane is captain, passes the ball better than anyone else on the books, and has done it all in the game. It'd be mad not to start him 90% of the time. The blend around him has to he right though.

Ward, for good reasons, is third choice RB. We also have Smith as cover
Yes he can cross...but in a situation where we only have one fit striker, he can go.
Fornah has some positive attributes, but he's lost the ball poorly so many times that if it means we can get someone else in...he can go too. First half against Bradford he was excruciatingly bad. Not sure Warne can trust him.

Where do you think we'll finish this season?

I think you're in danger of diasppearing up your own chuff mate.
Your athletics analogy is too convoluted for me to cope with, I'm afraid. My best guess is that you're saying my rejection of xG means I'd approve of ruining athletics if they ruined athletics because the new style ruined athletics would be official? Have a lie down.
I can at least see where youre going with the Premium bonds bit, but Ernie is amenable (just) to statistical evaluation and it's the same every time. Football isn't like that.
xG can put a statistical veneer on the "how did he miss that" chats that happen after every game. It can't tell you a deal beyond that...certainly not compared to points won.
