Patrick Viera twatting a fan who was goading him. Good, shouldn't have been there in the first place.

It's weird how the response to Vieira retaliating against a fan goading him on the pitch seems to be generally positive while the response to Oli McBurnie and his Sheffield United teammates retaliating against a fan goading them on the pitch seems to have been broadly condemnatory. My view on both is perhaps best summed up by a certain great Leicester wordsmith when he wrote those immortal lines "chat s***, get banged".

    From Ilkeston, Derbyshire ?

Just me that thinks a two-year football banning order seems remarkably lenient for someone that ran on the pitch and nutted a player?

Edit: Looks like the article's been changed just as I posted this. 10 years seems far more reasonable.

  3. To be fair, he is out of contract within the next month, and the season for Forest Green has already concluded. I don't think it's the biggest issue in the world if he's spoken to Watford as, effectively, a free agent, just maybe a bit impolite to not tell your soon to be ex-employers about it. It's not as though he agreed a deal with Udinese and they're going to send him to Watford as a loan manager next season. ?

Here we go.  Should have put a better team out with 3 games to go to secure those points.  Always knew with free transfers, manager changes and big loans start of the season this was on the cards.  Another EFL headache of their own making.

The Royals, who finished four points and one place above Posh, were deducted six points in November with a further six point deduction suspended in case the club make additional breaches.

The latest accounts published by Reading in February revealed pre-tax losses of £35.7m. The EFL only permit a maximum loss of £39m across three seasons.

McCann said: “There is something going on in the background with Reading which we are aware of, but it’s just a bit of hope more than anything. I don’t really want to go into it. You can never say never though.”

If there are further points deductions for Reading they are more likely to be imposed next season. The EFL took that course of action with Derby County which led to legal action from Wycombe Wanderers last season. Wycombe finished in 22nd place as Posh have done.

It's not really worth thinking about. Even if they do get further points deducted this season, we all know the EFL wouldn't have done it if it was us that would have profited from it.

  5. There's a mad one going on in League Two at the minute. Bristol Rovers could get automatics, but only with an incredible turnaround of goal difference on Northampton. They're currently 7-0 up, which would do it, but the game has had to be stopped because one of the Bristol Rovers fans has got on the pitch and hit some Scunthorpe players. You don't get this in the Premier League.

I don’t get this argument! Surely,Notts County ,only 15 miles away, with a ground capacity of 20k would be a better bet? Also founder members of the Football League.I know the grief we’d get in Nottingham but, hell’s teeth who wants to play at Stoke on a Tuesday night?

Don't they already have to organise games so that Forest and County alternate between playing home fixtures and away fixtures, so they're not both playing in Nottingham(shire) at the same time? I think adding a third party into that arrangement wouldn't be viable. It would either require a lot of manoeuvring of fixtures so we're playing out of step of everyone else, or one of us will have to be playing at home at the same time as Forest, which is just asking for trouble.
