Signing an almost 30-year old Jesse Lingard on 180k a week is such an Everton signing that I'm genuinely shocked that it's another club doing it.

Might not be out of the woods just yet
For those that don't know, Southall was involved with the situation at Charlton a couple of years back, and supposedly played a role in getting Erik Alonso involved here, so it's concerning for Birmingham if he's to be made CEO there

In entirely unrelated news, Aston Villa have been linked to Mauro Icardi

No, think that’s Amadou Diallo who was released by West Ham. He’s a 19 year old winger
Is this our cut-price replacement for Amad Diallo after we couldn't get him on loan last year?

Was apparently Loach in goal during this infamous occasion overseen by Stuart Attwell way back in 2008 (not even 2 months before he got the East Midlands derby game)
Personally, I think Loach should have done better there

Confirmed here:
https://www.dcunited.com/news/d-c-united-name-wayne-rooney-as-head-coachMy biggest takeaway from this is that the interim coach is called Chad Ashton. With that name, surely we have to find a place for him here.

Rooney never said he was leaving to spend more time with his family, neither in the club statement on his departure or on his Twitter afterward. That was just some gubbins that The Mirror got from an "insider source":

Just googled from Bournemouth doesn't say he's a free agent so I'd guess it would be a loan
He got released at the end of last season

DC United look like they could do with him. Currently 5-0 down to Philadelphia Union and it's only half time.

In all seriousness, Bassini will never take them over. It will all fall apart when the money needs transferring. He's like Kirchner, but if Kirchner was a character from a Carry On film.
The thing is, he'd not even need to actually purchase the club to cause bother for them. He just needs to convince himself that he should be buying them. Look at his actions with Bolton, which held up a legitimate sale for far longer than was necessary.

Why, what was his role in Joinersgate?
It was reported by the Daily Mail at the time that, in addition to the Lawrence, Keogh and Bennett, there was also an 18-year old involved, but seeing as he wasn't driving himself and because of his age at the time, it was kept rather quiet
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-7555971/Football-news-Teenage-Derby-player-FOURTH-person-involved-car-crash.htmlWhile that article does not mention what player it was, Buchanan was one of the only players we had at the time that fit the details given in that article (18, academy player, handful of first team appearances) and was pictured late in the evening with the players that stayed out late. As such, it's an assumption that he was the player referenced, but it must be said that, as far as I'm aware at least, this has never been categorically confirmed.

That’s because action was taken against the wrong individual.
The committee actually ruled that no act of gross misconduct had been committed. If the club sacked the others involved, there's a decent chance it would have resulted in payouts to all 3 (or 4) of them.

This was comedy gold. If someone had told me that this was in fact a comedian that had called up and convinced Talksport that they were actually Bassini I'd believe them.
Normally, I'd be concerned for the club in question, but as it's BCFC I'll just grab some popcorn and pull up a chair.
It was still believable when he said that Tyson Fury's training him to beat up Simon Jordan and that Simon Jordan killed someone, but when he said Birmingham City are going to win the league, that's just too ridiculous to be anything but a wind-up merchant.

I don't know if Marco is Buchanan's agent. The Derby Telegraph said that Quantum Sport is run by Marco, but he's no longer a director of Quantum Sport, having left that role in 2020.
https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/09922242/officersHe's still listed on the company website as a "consultant", but whether or not he was directly involved in this Buchanan situation or just happens to work for the same company as Buchanan's agent isn't clear.
https://quantumsport.co.uk/Think it's harsh to pile in on him without a more solid link.
